2026 Slow Stitching Project - Page 24 - L2 - Laundry Line, Lemon, Licorice, Lilac

I am following K3N Cloth Tales' Slow Stitching project for 2026 - A to Z of slow stitching.

We are on the community choice for L - Layers and Leaf.

I chose differently.  I chose Laundry Line with pieces of Lime, Lilac, Lavender, Licorice, Lemon and Laguna Teal.

I added some running stitches blue for sky and green for the hills behind the Laundry Line.

The fabric I am stitching on is Linen.

I like it!

2026 - Little Cars - Quilt 03

Another quilt finished 2026-03.

The topper was donated to Project Linus and I picked it up at the May Sewing Day.

I decided to just back it with fleece to turn it around in good time.

The red fabric is little cards with faces. The other squares are lime green and purple blocks.  Works really well.

I got some red fleece and cut it roughly to size and pinned it with my quilting pins.  I put red thread in top and bottom and sewed around each red car square 1/4" from the edge.  That meant no crossing of stitches which worked out really well.

I then squared up the topper and trimmed the red fleece to 1.5 inches from the edge of the topper.  I ironed down the folded over edge to the back.

I used purple thread top and bottom to sew down the binding.  I used the curvy stitch on my machine and sewed from the front with the edge on the 1" mark. That brought the stitching right along the edge of the binding on the back.  This blanket will be delivered back to Project Linus this week.  It measures 39" W x 54" L which puts in the Toddler/Child size and with the little cars that works really well.

Tree Scent Ornaments - Spools

A few additions to the collection of 1 of a Kind Tree Scent ornaments.

Vintage wooden spool wrapped with red felt. I stitched a length of white lace to the bottom and added a bit of white stitch above it.

Cut two 1 inch circles of red felt to put on each end.

The bottom features a white pearl drop bead and the top a small white button. All hung with red wool yarn.

A wooden spool wrapped with lime green fleece.

Once that was stitched on I wrapped the spool with dark green embroidery floss onto which I placed matte gold EBeads along the way.

I cut 1" circles for the bottom and top of the spool.

I added a gold button with a shank on the bottom and a gold bead at the top above the green felt circle.

All hung on variegated green yarn.

I stitched a length of plum wool ftlt with a few stitches in green, white and yellow.

This was wrapped around a vintage wooden spool .

I cut two 1" circles in mustard felt for the top and bottom.

I added a plum colored button with a shank on the bottom and a tiny green button on the top over the felt circle.

All hung with plum embroidery thread.

I used a traditional red and green color theme on this Tree Scent ornament.

A red felt piece was stitched with white and green thread then stitched onto the wooden spool.

I selected 2 red buttons to go on the bottom and top of the ornament.

I cut two 1" circles of dark green felt for the top and bottom of the spool.

I ran red wool yarn to hold all the peices together and knotted at the top with several knots along the way.

These can be used as personal passive oil diffusers as you relax.

Banner - Farewell

This is a banner I created for a farewell we hosted today.  The triangles were cut to accommodate the 4" letters cut with the Cricut and the Base Camp cartridge.  The colors were lime, navy and yellow.  The letters were cut from yellow card stock and glued to the navy flags.  The lime scallop was cut with Sizzix Sizzlits Decorative Strip Die - Scallops, Giant which is 12 inches long. They were adhered along the top edge of the flag and trimmed as needed.  I attached the flags to a navy grosgrain ribbon with tiny blue brads.
