R2Go Christmas Stack - Bethlehem

I tweaked this card and put together a stack card kit.

I chose a graphic I downloaded from the internet when I did some research.  I was not able to find it again to find the credits. I will update when I do.

I printed the Bethlehem graphic onto vellum in black and clear embossed it.  It is trimmed to 3.75x5 inches.

I designed the color shaded layer to have the most color behind the central building fading out to white toward the outside edges.  This layer is cut to leave a small border of card base.

I selected two colors for the card bases in this this kit. Lavender and a medium blue.

The color layer is adhered to the card front.  When the vellum is aligned, use a push pin to create holes in the four corners for the black brads.  I put star brads in the top holes and round ones in the bottom.

It has been added to the Stack Class Kit page.

R2Go Christmas Card Kit - White Felt Ornaments

Another Christmas Stack kit ready to go.

This is the same layout as yesterday's but in cool blue colors.

I started with the felt ornaments.  I selected the snowflake and the reindeer.

I then selected cool designer paper with white in the pattern.  Then a coordinating card base cardstock which is duplex paper with excellent colors was selected. I adhered the designer paper to the card front leaving a small border.

I added some 1/8" silver metallic ribbon in the ornament hanger. A silver star brad holds the ornament to the card front. I cut some silver foil paper with the 2.75 inch Spellbinder Nestabilities in smooth circles. Then I aligned that silver layer between the white ornament and the designer paper then glued it down.

I designed a greeting for the Stampin Up Artisan Label punch.  The greetings are coordinated with the card base color.  Adhered with 3D foam tape.

The card above details are as follows:

  • Snowflake White Felt Ornament
  • Echo Park Paper Co. - Winter Park by Lori Whitlock - Gondola  (Four 6x6 patterns)
  • Warm dark blue card base

I then selected warm designer paper with red in the pattern.  Then coordinating card base was selected. I adhered the designer paper to the card front leaving a small border.

I added some 1/8" gold metallic ribbon in the ornament hanger. A glitter star brad holds the ornament to the card front. I cut some gold moire paper with the 2.75 inch Spellbinder Nestabilities in smooth circles. Then I aligned that gold layer between the red ornament and the designer paper then glued it down.

I designed a greeting for the Stampin Up Artisan Label punch.  The greetings are coordinated with the card base color.  Adhered with 3D foam tape.

Cards as Gifts Class

I decided to make my all occasion card stack class this fall a "Make Cards as Gifts" class. This allows people to give the handmade cards as gifts for Christmas, Teacher Appreciation, or Birthdays.

I thought it would be helpful to have a "wrapper" for the cards as part of the class so the participants would walk away with gifts ready to give. That is always nice for busy people.  The package would hold 4 or 6 cards depending on how they split their card kit.

I designed this clear pouch which would hold the cards.  It is made with half of a page protector.  I cut the top edge with a Tim Holtz die to create the wavy edge.  Punch two holes for the ribbon.  That worked great!

Some people would be inclined now to put that in a gift bag so to make it Ready 2 Give I added a Christmas wrap liner to cover the cards until the recipient opened the package.  I chose premium foil gift wrap in red and gold.

The package needed a gift tag so I made some of those as well to coordinate with the liner.

R2Go Christmas Card Kit - Penguin Tuque

I started with a red card and a skating penguin with a red glitter tuque.

I printed a frame on white card stock.  I adhered the penguin accent to the frame.  I applied a piece of 3D foam tape to each corner.

I wrapped the white seam binding around the card front.  I tied a knot and moved it to the right hand side.

I adhered the accent square aligned to the left to leave a small border on 3 sides making sure my knot was to the right of the accent.

I adhered the greeting of my choice to the bottom right hand corner of the accent layer.  I adhered the quarter sheet insert to the bottom half of the inside of the card. I trimmed the ends of the ribbon with scissors.

R2Go Christmas Kit - Bethlehem Triptych - Punched Stars

Another Ready 2 Go Stack kit for my class on Monday, June 05.  Very similar to the one I made earlier.

It features a Bethlehem Triptych with a gold foil greeting.  The layer measures 3.5 x 4.75 inches.

I chose a navy card.

I trimmed the 12x12 gold metallic card stock to 4.00 x 5.25 inches which leaves a small border of blue card.  This layer was adhered to the card front.

I punched 3 stars below the gold greeting on the Bethlehem layer.  Once placed on the gold layer the stars become gold as the lower layer shows through. I placed the center one first then evenly space the other two on either side.

Using a piece of 12x12 silver metallic card stock I cut a layer to leave a small border.  The holy family is adhered to the silver metallic layer.

The greeting layer is color printed with a purple frame and a green greeting.  It is cut to 4.00 x 5.25 inches.

I selected a hunter green card.

The greeting layer is adhered to the card front.  Then the holy family accent layer is adhered to the purple greeting layer.

R2G Christmas Stack Kit - Set 2

Kits for my class tonight.

I started with the blue and foil starry night designer paper. It is handmade paper.  It was cut to leave a small border of the navy card.
I cut the greeting on the Cricut with the Winter Frolic cartridge at 2.75".  The navy is the same as the card stock as the card and the shadow was cut from vellum.
I adhered these layers together ensuring dry adhesive is only behind the card stock so it does not show through the vellum.  The full greeting was adhered to the card front.
I added a mini silver brad as the dot on the "i" in Silent.

I started with the gold metal star ornament.

I cut gold metallic card stock to 4.00x5.25 inches.  This layer was adhered to the front of the black card.
I designed the starry night Bethlehem layer in black with my own drawing.  It was printed on white card stock trimmed to 3.75x5.00 inches.
I put gold metallic thread through the hole in the ornament. I adhered the metal star to the Bethlehem layer with a Zot then pulled the thread to the back of the white layer and taped down the ends. This layer was then adhered to the gold layer on the card front.

I started with the felt ornament.

Using the navy ornament, I created the Peace on Earth greeting layer and printed it on white card stock. It was adhered to the front of a navy card.
I found an earth clip art on line and sized it to 1.75", printed several on vellum and embossed them with silver powder. I punched them with the SU circle punch.
I cut a length of silver metallic ribbon, tied it to the hole of the ornament and trimmed the ends. I placed the earth circle in the center of the navy ornament and created a hole with a 1/16" punch for the dove brad.
I placed the ornament onto the card front, used a push pin to create a hold in the card front to match the one in the ornament.  Pushed the prongs of the brad through all layers and spread them on the inside of the card.

Ready2Go Christmas Stack Kit - Snowflake Blues

Another Christmas Stack kit.

This one based on the Stampin Up Snow Flurry Bigz die.  I decided to create the same layout in 3 different card colors of warm blue from dark to light: Not Quite Navy, Blue Bayou and Baja Breeze.

I cut the label with the Apothecary Label thin die in Pool Party card stock.  I cut the large snowflake from the same color card stock as the card, the next one in Whisper White and added a warm blue confetti snowflake in the center.  These are all held together with a tiny white brad.

The greeting layer was done on Whisper White with the greeting matching the card color.  The greeting is from the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set.  It was trimmed to leave a decent border and adhered to the blue card.  The snowflake accent was then adhered to the greeting layer with 3D foam tape.

Ready2Go Christmas Stack Kit - Winter Bright

I used the Stampin Up Winter Bright Designer paper which features Wild Wasabi and Bashful Blue.  I selected card stock in the main colors.  I chose a .5 inch red cotton ribbon.  The focal element features large and medium white silk poinsettias with daisy confetti in a coordinating color.  The DSP was cut with a One Sheet Wonder Template.

On this first card I chose to match the DSP with the card color - Wild Wasabi.  I cut the card stock at 4.25W x 11T inches and scored it at 5.5 inches.  I glued the DSP measuring 4.25W x 3.00T inches along the bottom edge.  I adhered the red ribbon over the top edge of the DSP and taped the ends to the inside of the card.  I used a push pin to make a hole in the ribbon and card front and the red daisy confetti.  I placed the prongs of the tiny white brad through the confetti, the medium then large poinsettia then through the card front, opening the prongs on the inside of the card.

For this second card, I matched the card color - Bashful Blue with the Winter Bright designer paper. Again, the card is cut at 4.25W x 11T inches and scored it at 5.5 inches.  I glued the DSP measuring 4.25W x 3.00T inches along the right hand edge.  I adhered the red ribbon over the left edge of the DSP and taped the ends to the inside of the card.   I used a push pin to make a hole in the ribbon and card front and the red daisy confetti.  I placed the prongs of the tiny white brad through the confetti, the medium then large poinsettia then through the card front, opening the prongs on the inside of the card.
For this third card, I chose the card color - Wild Wasabi and the Bashful Blue side of the Winter Bright designer paper. Again, the card is cut at 5.5W x 8.5T inches and scored it at 4.25 inches.  I glued the DSP measuring 5.25T x 1.75W inches along the right hand edge of the card.

The cutting pattern I used is the OSW1.  I tipped the orientation of card 3 to tall instead of wide based on the layout template.
