Graduation Card

A card for my sister who has graduated from her university business program.   She has been attending night classes for a long time and she is finally done!

I chose school colors for the card of black and maroon.  I started with the black card base.  The background is a large hand decorated tag with white acrylic paint.  I added gold ribbon which adds a bit of celebrate to the card.  I put one piece wrapped around the tag and the other coming down from the top of the card.  I flagged the end of the shorter piece.  The grad cap was created with my Creative Memories Double Square punch. Larger in maroon and smaller in black.  I then tied a tassel from some gold cording and held in place with a black brad.   It was mounted over the top piece of gold ribbon with 3D foam tape.  The greeting is the Stampin Up Modern Label punchie in maroon with a white Word Window greeting.

R2Go Stack Kit - Custom

I had a request for a custom Ready 2 Go Stack Kit.  She wanted the greetings to be about praying.

I chose to used No.8 envelopes with double sided designer card stock.  The 12x12 was cut 3 3/8 inch wide and 12 inch tall.  I then scored the fold at 6.25 inches. I added a 1/2 inch strip of black card stock at the bottom.  The easiest way to do that is to tape a strip bigger than what you need along the edge with invisible tape.  Then trim all 3 sides with the paper trimmer.

To repeat the black I cut a scallop border in black as well which I glued along the top edge and again trimmed on the left and right sides with scissors. 

The vellum greetings are 2 x 4.25 inches.  Color printed in black and clear embossed.  It this then adhered aligned with the top of the card and centered.  The scallop border is then adhered on top of that aligned with the top.

A white insert is added for the giver's personal message.

The paper is by The Girls' Paperie - Jubilee - Carousel.

This time I cut the paper the same way.  I scored it at 2 inches then from there 6.25 inches. This creates a gatefold card with the opening in the middle.

I added an Espresso brown strip of card stock along the edge and taped it down.  This one is wider than the .5 inch needed so it over laps onto the flap on the right.

I created greetings on stone colored paper which would work both pieces of designer paper I chose.  The letters are the dark brown of the small strip.  They are cut to 2" square.  It was adhered centered on the brown strip but with double sided tape only on the left hand side.

The paper is by Carta Bella - Beautiful Moments - Beautiful Banner Paper.  The other paper also had horizontal lines going across the card.

Another portrait tall card.  You have to be careful when folding designer paper because it has a white core and if the paper fibers are not well scored they will crease and expose the core which does not look great.  I ran my tool along the score line from both sides to stretch and soften the fibers.  Works well.

I added a half inch strip of coordinating ginger card stock along the bottom again attached with invisible tape. 

With the same card stock I punched the squares with the Creative Memories Double Square punch which does 1.5 and 1.25 inch squares which layer well.  The solid card stock is the larger and the greeting is the smaller. I used my corner rounder punch to do 2 of the corners. I adhered 3 squares aligned down the center of the card.

The greeting was printed in blue on ivory card stock, punched and corner rounded.  It was adhered to the center square. 

The paper is by Carta Bella - Traditions - Antique Damask. The other designer is very similar in pattern and color.

Thank You Cards - Corner Rounded Squares

I prepared another set of Thank You cards Compassion House.

Here I paired some corner rounded square in warm tones with an ivory printed layer and an olive colored card.

The cross on the printed greeting layer helps me align my squares.


The next set of squares were paired with purple cards.  I produced one which creates a flower with the Thank You greeting

For the last one in this group I used black and white snowflake paper. I aligned 3 of them along the top of the card. 

I placed a Stampin Up Itty Bitty Banner greeting below mounted with 3D foam tape. 

Delivered those today.

Cards to Gallery - Decorative Paper

This decorative paper which I made a while back was so bold I chose to use a small amount of it.

I punched squares with my Creative Memories Double Square Punch with the smaller one.  I punched black squares with the larger one. Coordinated size punches makes this design easy to make. I used a corner rounder punch on 2 of the corners then placed one of the square corners in the center.

I printed the white layer with the guidelines for the squares and the french greeting on the right.  Once the squares were adhered I glued it to the front of a blue card.

I added small brads in the bottom right hand square.

 I chose a piece of decorative paper with minimal color.  I coordinated the flower die cut in purple tones.  It was cut with the Sizzix Daisy #4 die. 

I adhered the decorative paper to a deep purple card base.  I tacked down the daisy with the stem framing this bright splatter on the right.

I made a hole in the center of the daisy with a push pin. I stacked the flowers starting with the silver flower sequin and ending with the large white on then placed them on the tiny white brad. I placed the prongs of the brad through and spread the prongs apart on the inside of the card.


Great all occasion card.

I started with this great decorative paper in yellow and green tones. 

I chose a bright yellow card. I trimmed the paper to leave a small border, wrapped a piece of celery green grosgrain ribbon across the top and taped the ends to the back.
I then glued it to the card front.

I added 3 yellow brads on the ribbon on the left hand side. I added a yellow bee accent on the right and used a black marker to create a trail across the card.

Birthday Cards - Trio Squares

I made a couple of birthday cards.

I chose designer paper by Blue Fern Studios - Paisley and Vine - Bohemian.  Love the rich colors in this paper.  I punched 3 large squares from the designer paper with my Creative Memories Double Square Punch.

I cut a strip of deep teal green card stock and adhered it to the deep red card base on the left hand side. 

I adhered the squares along the teal strip with 3D foam tape. 

I added the strip banner greeting in deep red.  I adhered it aligned on the left edge with the bottom square and cut the flag end by hand with scissors.  I have added a piece of 3D foam tape at the end of the banner greeting.

As you can see the card layout can be modified to the landscape (wide) or the portrait (tall) orientation. 

On this second card, I placed the greeting on the teal card stock strip and added a teal mini brad on the left hand side.

I added a piece of chocolate grosgrain ribbon under the 3 punched squares.  The ends are taped to the inside of the card.

I added a blank insert.

Card Club - February - Four Squares

I started with a sheet of 12x12 designer paper by Basic Grey - Eskimo Kisses - Starry Night.  It features these lovely swirls over a raspberry background and a soft pink on the back side.
Using my Creative Memories Double Square punch I made a set of four small and large for each card.  I chose to place the small one on the larger in a diamond shape.  I have corner rounded them in the past.  I placed the 4 squares on the left hand side of the card.
I printed the greetings in Rich Razzleberry and punched them out with the Stampin Up Modern Label punch.  I adhered it to the center of the squares with 3D foam tape.
The squares were mounted to a light blue layer which leaves a large border around it on the white card.

Thanks - Rounded Squares

I started with a cinnamon colored card onto which I printed the greeting in black open letters at the bottom of the card.
I chose some double sided card stock to coordinate.  I punched 3 large and 3 small squares with the Creative Memories Double Square punch.  I corner rounded 2 opposite corners then layered them onto each other.
I placed a piece of black grosgrain ribbon across the top third of the card and taped the end to the inside of the card. I mounted the 3 squares over the ribbon with 3D foam tape.

Banner & Squares

I started with a navy card. 
I added the greeting layer from this card club card.  I punched four large 1.5" squares from the decorative card stock.  I adhered them inside the printed square.  I cut a banner hole with one of the framelits from the Bitty Banner set just below the greeting.  I placed a scrap of decorative paper behind the greeting layer allowing it the show through the banner shape. 
I adhered the banner cut out over the junction of the four corners in the center of the printed square.

Card Club - May - Layered Squares

This card features layered squares.  I punched the squares with a Creative Memories 1 1/4 & 1 1/2 inch Double Square Paper Punch, which makes even borders really easy.  The smaller one is cut from the decorative card stock and the larger one from coordinating red paper. The patterned square was adhered onto the larger solid red square leaving an even border.  I created the taupe parchment layer with the square and greeting printed in navy.  This layer is adhered to the kraft card front.  I adhered four squares into the printed square.  I adhered a fifth square place on the diagonal in the center of the 4 squares. This one is adhered with 3D foam tape.  I flagged both ends of a half inch strip of the decorative card stock and adhered it below the greeting.  This makes a cool masculine card.
