Placemats with Zippered Pocket

 I made this pair of placemats for a prize at our family event. 

I chose a piece of cotton I purchased at the GA fabric sale a couple of weeks ago (pink floral with a black background).  I made that the front.  I chose a piece of black polka dot poly cotton for the back.  

I cut the back and flannel backing 12 " T x 17" W. 

The front I pieced because my cotton was not long enough.  I added a piece of raspberry polyester knit on the left and side of the zipper.  The solid color helps to direct the user to the zippered pocket on the left.  I added raspberry colored tabs on each end of the zipper to fill in the gaps. 

I added two 12" ties on the opposite side which will keep it closed when rolled up.

Once I had pieced my front with the zipper and the raspberry piece I placed right sides together onto the backer and sewed all the way around leaving a gap to turn it right side out.

I ironed it and then did a top stitch all the way around closing the gap I had left. 

I then made 2 seams across the height of the placement. 1 to define the pocket and another just to keep the backer, flannel and cotton together.

The pocket can hold utensils and a napkin, markers, crayons, or other crafty things.

The fabric is completely washable. The color helps to hide the dirt. 

When going on a picnic at a park it gives you a clean place to eat no matter the condition of the table.

Sewing Project - Double Tulip Bag 01

I tried a new design for a bag today. A Double Tulip Bag.

It is made from 4 large circles. Mine were cut at 19.5 inches in diameter. Two patterned and 2 solid color.

I followed this bag video.  

I chose two cotton fabrics - a floral pattern with light purples and a solid light purple.

It features 3 full width pockets and 3 nook pockets created by the curves in the design.  Allows for some organization of it's contents.

I always include a key clip so those are at easy hand when needed.

The straps are long enough for me to put it over my shoulder and tuck the bag in my armpit. Not too long to just hang on your arm.  It measures 11.25" tall at the sides and  9" high at the center by 11.5" inches wide. The straps are 15.5 inches long.

It is part of "My Bag" line - bags for every day life.  They are durable, washable, and good wearing. A bag chosen by you for a purpose and you can find it when you need it.

Cards - Stitched on Fabric

I have been working on stitched cards for the Gallery.

The foundation layer is a piece of cotton.  I started with the mountains in coordinated fabrics then added the moon.

I added the foreground in mottled green strip of fabric then a piece of deep blue and a third piece of fabric which belong to the same fabric series as the mountains.

I added white sequins held with French Knots in the sky for stars.  Running stitch mostly with a bit of stick stitching on the deep blue strip.

Shimmery organza unto a half circle of ivory fabric in the same fabric series.

The fabric collage is stitch to the card front in a deep teal color. A half sheet white insert and envelope. 

I added a flannel foundation layer to the piece of hand dyed cotton fabric. Dyed with my sister a couple of weeks back.

The flowers base is a circle of cotton with long stitches in teal, magenta and light blue.

I colored the flower sequins with a yellow sharpie marker and put them in the center of the flower with a French Knot.  I added stems in green and a bit of dirt to ground them stitched in dark brown.

The fabric collage is stitched to the front of a Tempting Turquoise card base.

I added a half sheet white insert and white envelope.

I started the fabric collage with a piece of upholstery fabric which had organic shapes stitched in ivory thread.

I did running stitched across the background in medium blue thread.

I added French Knots on the heads of the ivory organic shapes with orange thread.

I then added a stick stitch daisy flower as a focal element.

I pinked the edges to halt unravelling.

I stitched it to the card front of a Groovy Guava card base.  Added a half sheet insert and white envelope.

I am repurposing the oil diffusers I made a couple of years ago which did not sell at the Christmas market.

I tack stitched the stitched piece to the top of a deep yellow textured card.  This is a bee with translucent wings. The edge is finished with blanket stitch.  

The diffuser drop is still on the back, so it can be removed from the card and used as a diffuser.

I added a Modern Label greeting in blue below the bee element with 3D foam tape.

I added a half sheet insert and white envelope.

I started with a piece of upholstery fabric with these embossed diamonds in it.

I followed the outline of the diamonds with stem stitch and running stitch which gives heavier and lighter outlines. The colors are pinks and purples.

I couched magenta yarn along the top and bottom edges.

The I couched white lace on the left and right hand side edges.  I added a bit of a flower focal element.

Sewing Project - Shopping Bag - Pink Floral

Another shopping bag from project bags which I unpacked this week.  This collection has been put away for at least 2 years with the flood and the move I was not sewing much. 

The pink floral fabric is 100% polyester and therefore quite thin.  I decided to supplement it with some flannel. Both were cut to 20"W x 36" T which will be folded in half.  I put some curvy decorative stitch seams through out the piece to hold those layers together.

The lining is good quality white microfiber fabric. 

I created 2 pockets for the inside with some of the dark pink pieces in the print.  I put on both the front and and the back of the lining.  They measure about 5:00"W x 6.5"T and are lined with the same white fabric. I stitched the layers together, turned it right side out, added top stitch to the top edge then top stitched it to the lining on the center line.  Making sure that the opening was facing the top of the bag.

I created a narrow strip for the key clip and strung it onto the black support.  I connected the 2 ends to give me a loop on the outside of the bag while the clip was on the inside of the bag.

The straps were 1" wide by 31" long.  They were placed between the outside fabric and the lining leaving about 4" on the inside of the bag to allow me to reinforce them to the bag later.

I created the sandwich of front floral/flannel layer and the back white lining and stitched all the way around leaving a gap for turning it right side out.  That done, I ironed it carefully. I folded it right side out. I then topstitched the top edge and followed the strap extra between the layers to reinforce the straps to the bag and closing the gap I had left earlier. I placed the key clip between the layers with the key on the inside and loop on the outside.  I then topstitched both side seams. 

The bag measures 17.25 T  x 18" W.  It is quite a large bag.

Sewing Project - Front Zipper Pouch

I made another bag the other day.  I wanted to give the Front Zipper Pouch a try.

I chose this beautiful floral print in cotton.

I chose ivory thread and a taupe zipper.

I added a layer of flannel for a bit of padding.

The lining is gorgeous navy microfiber fabric which will wear well.

The cotton outer layer was cut 9 3/8 inches x 23.25 inches.  The flannel was cut 9 3/8 inches by 21.75 inches long.  The zipper is a 9"/23cm one.

The flannel was quilted to the cotton with the curvy decorative stitch vertically along the full length. 

I made a wrist strap by cutting a length of the cotton outer fabric, folding it in half then in half again and top stitching both sides. Finished it measures 4 inches long.

Then I inserted the zipper on the short end between the outer and the lining.  Now, I have a tube with the zipper inserted.  It was a matter of deciding where the zipper would be placed. I could be at the very top or some where along the top third of the pouch. I chose 2.5 inches down from the top fold. Once decided, I pinned the side seams right side out, added the wrist strap above the zipper and stitched about 1/8 inch from the edge then turned inside out and sewed the side seams at generous 1/4 inch to enclose the first seam inside. Turned it right side out.  Pressed really well.

I added a metal charm on the zipper pull so that it would be easy to open and close.

Note: I should cut the flannel from the sides seams as they are quite thick.  I was planning on doing some stitching on it but I have not come up with an idea that seems to fit so I will pondering it over the next few weeks.

Finished size is 8" wide x 11" inches tall.

Cards - Donation - Friends

Once I discontinued my on line card exchange I started giving my cards away without having someone else's card to handle.

I was going to see a friend at the funeral so I made up some cards for her.  She has been battling cancer so not sure card making has been a priority.

The card base is Chocolate Chip with white embossed layer.  The folder is a floral one from Cuttlebug. I added a sentiment created from a CC Scallop Circle and a 1 inch cirle color printed punchie. It was mounted to the card front with 3 D foam tape.

This card features Stampin Up Designer Paper from the "Oh So Ombre" 6x6" set which I bought at the thrift store unopened for just over $2.

The colors in the set are Bermuda Bay, Blackberry Bliss, Granny Apple Green, Rococo Rose and Whisper White.

Again, a Chocolate Chip card base, with the green DSP from the above set. I used pencial crayon to put 2 brown lines across the top of the card.

The greeting is a CC scallop circle, a coordinating green circle then a 1" Just for you punchie.  

A quarter sheet insert and white envelope.

This card features the ombre DSP in the Bermuda Bay color.  The card base is the same color.  

I cut a SU Window Frame die cut from Whisper White with a framelit. I cut a left over of the DSP to about 2" square and adhere it to the die cut. 

I added 2 Five Petal Flowers one large one small layered and held in place with a coordinating mini brad.

This layer was adhered to the left of center on a landscape card.

This card base is Bermuda Bay with a coordinating DSP in the same color. 

I cut a strip of Whisper White the width of the card and adhered with double sided tape.

I cut a piece of card stock to 2 inches square and added a Martha Stewart butterfly punchie in white held in place with a tiny white brad. The square was adhered to the white strip.

Some of these cards are greeting less so they can be used for multiple occasions.

This bright blue card stock is from Michaels. 

I cut a book page down to fit the front of the card then used a couple of inkpads to add color and soften the text.  Blue and grey ink pads.

I took a scrap of silver card stock and cut a strip and a star die cut. I mounted the strip across the card.

The accent is a black SU Deco Label punchie, with a 1.25 inch circle light grey, 1 inch dark grey circle and the star I cut earlier.  It was adhered to the card front with double sided tape.

Nice to have a masculine card on hand.

Again, Pretty in Pink card base.  

I added a panel of Whisper White embossed with the Swiss Dots folder.

I mounted some Prima Handmade Paper flowers onto the panel with tiny white brads and irridescent flower sequins.  I placed them from dark at top to lighter below along teh left hand side of the panel. It was then adhered to the card base.

I am sure my friend will enjoy the cards.

Card - Sympathy

I attended the funeral of a church friend's husband.  He died quite suddenly after a fall.

I chose Pretty in Pink card base.  

I then embossed a Whisper White layer which left a decent border. The embossing layer is Stampin Up folder. Once adhered to the card front I used a small amount of chalk on a Qtip to apply some color to the flowers and branches.

I stamped the sentiment from Stampendous with an inkpad called Cement

A white quarter shee insert and a white envelope with pressing under books for a while made the card ready to give.

Sewing Project - Fold Over Wallets

Another set of Fold Over Card Wallets with RFID Protection.

I dipped into the pink bag of fabric scraps because I had bright pink elastic I wanted to use.

A gorgeous floral print with the perfect pink to match the elastic.

Again, the fabric is cut to 5.25 x 11 inches for the outer fabric and the lining fabric.  The RFID fabric measures 5x5.5 inches and is placed in the center of the panel based on the center fold. 

The elastic is place 3.25 inches from the bottom edge. Then a seam is put all around the edge with reinforcement where the elastic sits. Leaving a small slit to turn the sandwich right side out. 

Press the center fold again and by placing the fabric to the light you can see where the opaque RFID fabric starts and that is where the fold is placed and ironed. Repeat on the other end.  Iron the slit well so the edges are well aligned. Top stitch down both flaps with a seam that goes all along the right hand edge making sure you do not trap the elastic. Repeat on the left hand side.  Done!

I wanted to make a couple that were more masculine in color and pattern so I chose this navy and white bold plaid.

A white lining and a navy blue elastic completes this wallet.

This is a striped cotton fabric.  I gave it an ivory lining fabric.

What cards do you put in these wallets: All kinds - credit cards, transit cards, library cards, loyalty cards, business cards (yours or those you need to access regularly) and a few I am sure I have not thought of.

Sewing Project - Fold Over Wallets

Another set of Fold Over Wallets.

I found a long scrap of this screen printed linen in my stash. Platinum Collection © NNXIX US Canada.

It had a wide selvage edge so I just layed the next strip over that edge and aligned the designs till I was happy and pinned it.  Then I did that again to give me a strip of fabric wider than the 5.25 inches and just over the 11 inches tall I needed. 

I sewed these pieces together with the same overcast stitch I used on my fabric collage piece with the yellow thread from the previous session.

Then, I found a piece of fabric for the lining and I used the grey stretchy fabric for the elastic.

I found this batick fabric in my scrap stash.  Gorgeous deep rich colors.  It is a heavier fabric but ironed beautifully.

I chose a coordinating brown cotton for the lining fabric.

I added a blue elastic to keep the wallet closed.

Love the vibrant yellow in this wallet.

These again, are all lined with RFID fabric to prevent the theft of your information on your credit / payment cards.

What cards can you put in these wallets: All kinds - credit cards, transit cards, library cards, loyalty cards, business cards (yours or those you need to access regularly). 

Another medium weight fabric in stripes of white, grey and blues.  Working with this weight works really well for this product.

I chose a white cotton lining fabric and a grey stretchy fabric for the closure.

The elastic is placed at the 3.25 inches from the bottom edge of the fabric.  I reinforce the seam where it is as it will be a stress point.  It is easier to choose fabric that is works in any direction.  The one above I wanted the back to the be the front but I put my elastic in the other place and the prettiest piece is on the back.  It does allow one to see it all at least.

Card Making - Sets Continue

I switched to the "In Full Bloom" Simply Scrapping Kit for these cards.

I picked the Sage Shadow card stock from the 12x12 kit and trimmed it down to make two A2 cards with a few left over pieces.

On the left, I cut the desinger paper to 4.00x5.25 inches and then wrapped a wide piece of Baja Breeze gros grain ribbon around it and taped the ends to the back. I adhered the layer to the card front. I created an accent by punching a bee from the DSP with the .75 inch circle punch then added a 1" punched circle in Barely Banana card stock. Layered these and adhered over the ribbon.  On the right is the other designer paper in the kit. I ripped the right hand edge of the DSP layer leaving to show the white core of the paper. I added a strip of white card stock on the left and then added another circle bee accent like in the previous card.

Contiued with the same scrapping kit. 

Cut each of the designer papers to the leave a small border. The A2 card bases are Barely Banana card stock 12x12 cut to 8.5 x 11 cut in two for these cards. 

On the left, I created an accent with a strip of Sage Shadow with Barely Banana  squares and bling brads. The strip was mounted with 3D foam tape to accommodate the brad backs which are quick thick.  On the right, I made slits in the designer paper to accommodate a strip of Barely Banana card stock making sure I did  not cover the yellow elements. I taped that strip down on the back with scotch tape. I added a narrow strip of Lavendar Lace cardstock over the yellow and adhered with double sided tape. 

Each card gets a white quarter sheet insert and a white envelope.

Cards - A7 - Florals

I needed a distraction today so I put my hands to making some cards for my stash.

I found some A7 (5.25 x 7.25 inches) envelopes which were free when received so nice to destash.

The floral designer paper I chose is by Anna Griffin in this grey brown color cut to about 4 inches. 

The dark layer is some Early Espresso in Co-ordinations style which means it has a colored core and folding the card stock reveals that color so I used it for the layer and band instead.

The script paper at the bottom designed by Blue Fern Studios - Paisley & Vine - Bohemian. 

The card base is Stampin Up Sahara Sand.  A white sheet insert and ivory envelope.

This card has the same components.

I cut the floral paper to leave a large board all the way around then cut a Early Espresso layer leaving a narrower border.

SU Sahara Sand is the A7 card base used in the landscape orientation.

I cut a band of the dark brown card stock and flagged the end. Using 3 ivory mini brads I adhered it to the 2 other layers.

This full layer was then adhered to the card base with double sided tape.

For this card I chose a Stampin Up More Mustard card base to fit in an A7 envelope.

I cut the floral designer paper by Anna Griffin in the mustard color to leave a wide border all the way around.

I layered a piece of Early Espresso card stock behind leave a narrow strip on the left and right sides. These were adhered to each other with double sided tape.

I cut a strip of the dark brown card stock and then added 2 Stampin Up Five Petal punchies in the dark brown and the More Mustard colors with a tiny flower punch in the center all adhered to the layers with a More Mustard mini brad.

The Early Espresso but to leave a small border all the way around and the mustard floral by Anna Griffin cut a bit smaller to provide an even brown border on all sides.

I added a band running top to bottom on the left hand side of the floral piece.

I punched a Martha Stewart butterfly punchie in More Mustard and adhered it to the 2 previous layers with a yellow mini brad.

This was all adhered to the card front in the landscape orientation.  White insert and an ivory envelope. 

Cards - Charity

I set out this morning to make cards for IWin which is a charity which helps vulnerable women.  When they finish their program they get a card in their backpack to remind them that someone is thinking of them.

Each card needs a Thinking of you greeting and a butterfly.

I found a bag of wooden butterflies at the thrift shop the other day and brought them home.

I have been at a disadvantage to making cards for this project because of my home situation.  Back home and feeling like crafting again.  Not all is unpacked but I move forward.

I chose this designer paper with flowers printed in green. I trimmed it to leave a small border and adhered it to the front of a A2 card in SU Summer Sun.

I punched a Stampin Up Artisan punchie in Always Artichoke and adhered the butterfly with a Zot. I placed the short length of SU chevron ribbon under it and followed the pattern to trim it.  I added the greeting in the bottom right hand with a shadow of a green oval punchie.

For this yellow card base I trimmed a piece of floral designer paper to leave a small border. Wrapped the red ribbon along the bottom edge and taped the ends to the back.  It was adhered to the card front with DS tape. 

I added the yellow SU Decorative Label punchie, topped with the SU Small Oval greeting then topped with the wood butterfly accent held in place with a Zot.

Love the bright colors in this card.

Carrying on with the green floral designer paper I added it to an SU Always Artichoke card base.

I added a card stock strip on the left hand side and adhered with double sided tape.

I made the wood butterfly and the SU Small Oval greeting punchie touch and attached with a Zot and tape.

This card features a water colored piece of the green floral designer paper.  It was not very thick so I had to be really careful with the amount of water. I adhered it to the card front.

I combined the wood butterfly and the greeting in the bottom right hand corner.

Slow Stitching - No. 017 - Back Story

It`s week 17 with K3N.  This week`s challenge is Back Story.

We slow stitch a piece of fabric then look at the back.

I chose a floral piece in yellow, black, grey and a bit of mint green.

It is very interesting how you can see the leaves and the flower outlines. The mint green was small berries.

I put white seed stitches in the open spaces of the pattern.

Another great evening of stitching.

Sewing Project - Wine Bottle Bag - Warm Florals

Here is the latest wine bag.

I loved the warm flowers on this part of the fabric so I cut it to make them the focus of the front.

I found a warm brown grosgrain ribbon in my stash that worked well which I placed at the top edge.  I layered a cotton twill tape on top of that to tone down the shine.

I decided to create an accent element with the same ribbon.  I cut it, sealed the ends with heat then I just folded it back and forth this it was wide enough.

I bought a couple of bags of buttons recently and this shell button was in there.  I stitched this whole element to the top left hand corner of the bag.  Done another one!

Take Out / Take Away Bag

In my city, the Single-use Item Reduction bylaw came into effect on July 1, 2023. That means when I order take out food at a restaurant - some single use items would only be provided when requested and some would be offered at a cost. Plastic bags for take out were banned and paper bags would come at a cost of $.15.  I am okay with that but I still need a bag to bring my food home in so that it does not end up spilling in my car.

I set out to make such a bag.  I generally would need a small bag when I hit Tim Horton's or Wendy's but I got Vietnamese food the other day and that container was much larger.  I determined that I needed a bag around 9 inches square, the sides not too high and a way to close that would keep the food inside. Would be nice if it folded flat when I stored it in my car.

Here's is the result.

The floral fabric is a couple of strips of heavy cotton fabric I found for free at the ReUse Center last week.  The weight was a good start to having a sturdy bag. The strips were only 8 inches wide so I had to piece the bottom and I made it double layer so the inside would be nice with no seams showing.

I cut 2  pieces of 9.5 inch wide and 8 inches tall. Then I cut 2 strips of 9.5 inch wide and 2 inches tall to supplement the other pieces to end up a bottom that was 9" square finished.

I sewed the narrow strips to the large pieces on the 9.5 inch side.  I then ironed them and top stitched the seam.

Once both were done and put right sides together and sewed all the way around leaving a space to turn it right side out. Then I ironed that flat.  

The side piece was cut 8" tall and 38 inches long. Once layer was floral and the back was teal microfiber fabric which will be on the inside. Stitch all the way around and turned it right side out.

I pinned it to the bottom with lining on top of the bottom.  Once I identified the corners every 9 inches and sewed a seam from top to bottom of the eight inch length on all four corners. This will help stiffen the sides.  Then I went ahead and sewed the sides to the bottom matching the corner seams with the corners on the bottom piece.  The ends were overlapped on the front of the bag, again to help stiffen the front of the bag. 

The inside of the bag is floral on the bottom and teal on the sides.  The take out container fits perfectly on the bottom of the bag.

The handles are asymmetrical in the front loop is short and the bag loop is long.  They are made of teal microfiber.  The strip was 6 inches tall and about 38 inches long.  I folded the strip in half and iron it flat.  I then opened it and iron each half to the center.  I top stitched along both the open side and the folded side which helps to provide some stiffness to the handles.

To close the bag the long back loop is pulled through the short front loop and the bag is closed.  The join is above the center of the bag so it stays level.

I had to make it pretty as well.  I cut a large scallop circle from the floral fabric and sewed it over the ends of the front handles with a zigzag stitch

I hand sewed a teal button in the center of the flower for a final touch.

I am very happy at how this bag turned out.  

• It is large enough to handle any take out order I will make, 
• It will hold the contents securely inside the bag, and
• I have a loop handle to carry it along with anything else that is in my hands
• It folds flat and I can tuck it into a pocket in the car so it will always ready at hand when I need it.

Set of Cards

I made a set of cards with one single sheet of designer paper.  The design is by graphic45 - Couture Collection - Gorgeous - I agree it is a beautiful floral paper. Rich colors and a dramatic black background.  This paper measures 12x12 inches. Cutting 4 inch strips I ended up with 6 pieces for A2 cards. With the direction of the design all the cards were created in the portrait orientation.

Next I selected card bases for these cards.  With the colors in the paper there was lots to choose from.  Finally, I chose Old Olive, Lost Lagoon, and Dusty Durango.

For card 1 I cut the layer down from the top and flipped the piece to show off the blue striped backside. I then added a strip of orange card stock across the split.

I added a Decorative Label greeting mounted with 3D foam tape. A white quarter sheet insert finished the card.

For card 2 I did the same layout but put the stripes on the bottom this time.  I laid a length of So Saffron ribbon across the split.

The base this time is Lost Lagoon.

I layered silk flowers in warm tones and a small gold sequin onto a tiny black brad to create the floral accent which I mounted on the bottom left hand side.  The brad was pushed through the designer paper keeping all layers together.

This layer was then adhered to the card front with double sided tape.

A white quarter sheet insert was added.

This is card 3.

Here I split the layer top to bottom instead of side to side. Once split I flipped the small piece and taped back the designer paper so I could handle it as a full piece.

I added a length of Apricot Appeal grosgrain ribbon over the split and taped the ends to the back.

I added a Dusty Durango butterfly accent on the bottom right side.  The butterfly was cut with the Sizzix Winged Beauties thin dies.  I used my steel plate to ensure all the tiny spaces were well cut. I wrapped black thread around the body of the butterfly and left the ends to be the antennae.  Adhered with double sided tape.

Quarter sheet insert completed the card.

Card 4 has an Old Olive card base.  

The designer paper was left at 4.00 x 5.25 inches.  

I wrapped a length of Baja Breeze ribbon across the middle and taped the ends to the back.  

I added a Artisan Label greeting with black letters which was adhered with 3 D foam tape over top of the ribbon on the right hand side.

A quarter sheet white insert completed the card.

Card 5 is similar to card three.

This time the ribbon is So Saffron which is wrapped over the designer paper top to the bottom with the ends taped to the back of the layer.

I added some Candy Dots to the left of the ribbon in pink tones to coordinate with the large flower near the bottom of the card.

Card 6 repeats the lay out of the DSP split with the striped paper on the bottom.  

A length of wide Tango Tangerine ribbon across the split with ends taped to the back.

I found 2 tiny turquoise blue buttons in my stash.  They are adhered to the ribbon with Bling Zots.

This makes a nice set of card with enough variety to be interesting.  Versatile in that some have greetings and others are left blank to used for any occasion.

Happy with this set which will given as a gift.

Card Exchange - Nov - Screen Printed Paper

This sheet of beautiful screen printed paper stayed with me when many of the other 12x12 sheets left last week. 

It had so many Stampin Up colors in it. Early Espresso, Kraft, Very Vanilla, Cherry Cobbler, Soft Suede, Chocolate Chip and Melon Mambo.

On this card I cut the decorative paper to 5.25x4.00 then placed on a Very Vanilla card base. I cut the paper following the floral design from left to right. I then cut a piece of Melon Mambo to finish the rectangle along the cards bottom edge.  This was adhered first then the decorative paper over top of that leaving a small border all the way around. I added rhinestones in the center of the flowers with Bling Zots glue dots.

On this second card, I but a piece of designer paper for the top of the cards and a piece of Melon Mambo for the bottom and chose a Soft Suede card base.  

I ran my piercing wheel tool to make some wavy lines in the solid card stock on the bottom to provide texture.  I adhered that below the piece of designer paper on the top.  

I added a piece of Very Vanilla card stock across the join of these above mentioned papers and adhered it with double sided tape.

I then punched a SU Five Petal Punch flower in the pink and then the ivory card stock.  I layered these and added a small yellow flower in the center. This accent is held together with a deep pink mini brad.  The flower was adhered on the strip of paper with 3D foam tape.
