2026 Slow Stitching Project - Page 35 - R1 - Raw Edges

I did my piece for K3NCloth Tales' slow stitching project.

This week R1 was Raw Edge and I expanded to include Red, Raven, and Raffia.

I chose the piece in the middle with these colors then appliqued raw edge pieces in those colors all the way around one piece at a time.  I left my binding edge clear on the left hand side.

I used my new to me applique needles but it was a bit of a challenge where the layers were thicker.

I used Running Stitch in the matching colors.

Card Exchange - Feb - Red Raffia

Used this beautiful screen printed designer paper on this set of cards.

I used a Cherry Cobbler card base for card number 1. 

Cut the DSP to 4.00 x 5.25 inches and adhered to card front.

I chose 2 pieces of left over card stock in greens and used the SU Eyelet Border Punch on the bottom edge of both of them. 

Layered them together and punched 2 one eight inch holes evenly spaced from the center.

I pulled the Cherry Cobbler Raffia through and knotted it on the front.  This layer was adhered to the card front about 1.5 inches down from the top edge. 

It was adhered with 3D foam tape. I unraveled the raffia to have the ties spread out.

For this card I used a Chocolate Chip brown card base.

I added a decorative paper layer leaving a small border. 

I used the light green card stock and punched both edges with the Eyelet Border punch.  

I wrapped a length of Early Espresson Taffeta Ribbon across the front and taped the ends to the back. 

Place 2 one eight inch holes evenly spaced from the center, pulled the raffia through and knotted it to the front.   This layer was adhered to the card front with 3D foam tape.  White blank inserts and white A2 envelopes. 

Welcome to my Kitchen & Card Making

We had our ladies fellowship group meeting today.  I forgot my camera so I don't have photos of the delicious food we were served.  I bring my own tea these days as I am drinking caffeine free.  One of my favorites is Bengal Spice by Celestial Seasonings.  I have been adding one of these and a Rooibos tea bag and steep them together.  I add a bit of honey and cream and it works.

Not the same as my favorite black tea which is Masala Chai from Chai Wallahs.

I hope they design a Rooibos version because the flavor is the best.



Following our time of fellowship a couple girls stayed and we made cards.  One girl had bought an All Occasion Stack Kit and the other brought a Christmas Stack Kit she purchased last year but did not put together.

I started some Thank You cards for when I visit Compassion House in November.

I started with a Soft Suede card base.

I added some designer paper measuring 4.25x5.5 inches.

I added a warm teal label cut with the Stampin Up Apothecary Framelits.

Then I placed an oval cut with Nestabilities of a ship on the seas. 

The greeting is warm teal as well which was color printed on ivory and punched with the SU Decorative Label punch which was adhered with 3D foam tape.

I started with a dark warm teal card base.

I added a couple pieces of designer paper in a warm Bermuda Bay color.  I had some nice texture on it.  They were adhered to the top left and bottom right of the card front.

I added an aqua circle onto which I mounted a white silk flower held in place with a gold glitter star brad.  It was placed to overlap the DSP pieces.

I added a greeting printed in warm green tone and punched with a circle punch.  It was adhered with 3D foam tape.

I added 3 gold flower sequins on the bottom edge of the left designer paper piece.  These are held in place with Bling Zots.

I started with a royal blue card base.

I added a piece of Serendipty paper in blue tones which has been embossed with the a swirl folder.  I placed it aligned on the left.

The greeting was color printed then I ripped the top and bottom edge and adhered it to the card front with 3D foam tape.

I added a green raffia bow along the right edge of the serendipity layer.  It is held in place with a tiny gold brad.

The card on the below has similar pieces just put together a little differently.  The Serendipity layer was adhered along the bottom edge.


The greeting was color printed, cut square and adhered to the right hand side. 

I added a piece of navy seam binding and trimmed the edges.

Card Club - Sept - Copper Leaves

My card is my nod to fall arriving and thanksgiving. It is a trio of copper leaves.  The leaves were cut with the Tim Holtz Tattered Leaves die.  It cuts these 3 leaves at one time.

I chose some copper metallic handmade paper I purchased a few years ago from a local business which has since closed.  I embossed the most solid one wit the Tim Holtz Cracked embossing folder to provide some texture to the card front.

The background designer paper is by BasicGrey - Pyrus - Oblate.  I loved that it had the copper tone and some wonderful green ones too. 

I added a green raffia bow held in place with a large copper brad. 

I chose not to include a greeting as the leaves fill the card front quite nicely.

Cmas Card Challenge - October - Natural Christmas

I decided on a wreath for my Natural Christmas theme. I started with a dark brown card. I used a Martha Stewart branch punch on several shades of green card stock to create my greenery. I cut the wreath's back layer with a Soft Suede Nestabilities scallop circle. I glued at least 18 branches around the edge of the circle making sure to keep it within the 4.25 width of the card. I then layered a smaller scallop circle over the middle covering the ends of the branches. I cut a very vanilla circle with Nestabilities die and chalked the edge while it was still in the die leaving a nice border. Then I stamped a Stampin Up! greeting on the circle in Chocolate chalk ink. I added the raffia bow above the wreath.
I made 6 of these.
