Card Club - November - Felt Tree

I started with the small white felt trees which were left over from this Christmas Card Club kit.

I added this swirly night sky designer paper onto a dark navy blue card base.

I ripped a snowbank which was adhered to the bottom of the card.

The tree is held in place with a tiny silver star brad.  The silver star sequin at the top of the tree is held in place with a silver tiny round brad.

The banner greeting was color printed and and trimmed close to the border.  It is adhered to the card front with 3D foam tape.

Here's the alternative color for this card kit.

It works beautifully as well.

Card Club - November - Star

I started with the large greeting which was left over from making this Nativity Christmas Stack kit.

I chose a card base which matched the color of the greeting.  I cut a piece of sparkly paper to leave a small border of the card showing and adhered it to the card front.

The greeting was tacked in place with a bit of tape near the bottom center then the 2 tiny black star brads were added in each of the top corners. Using a push pin to make holes through the card front push the brads through and spread the prongs apart on the inside of the card.

I cut the star with the Sizzix Stars#2 die from silver card stock.  It was adhered to the sparkly paper overlapping the greeting.

Card Club - November - Snowflake

The snowflake die cut was the starting point.  I managed to find some swirly designer paper which suggested a snow storm quite well.  That was cut to leave a small border of the true blue card showing.

The card base was cut 4.25 x 11 inches with the fold placed at the top.  This allows the white grosgrain ribbon to be easily wrapped around the card front and knotted to the front. The ends were trimmed.

The snowflake is adhered to the card front with 3D foam tape. 

The greeting is color printed and punched with the Stampin Up Modern Label punch and is adhered to the card front with 3D foam tape. 

Card Club - November - Kraft Tag

I started with the kraft and red glitter tag.  I added a red satin ribbon.

I chose a dark brown card base and added an embossed layer.  The white card stock layer was created with the Stampin Up Petals a Plenty folder and leaves a small border of the card showing.  The embossed layer is adhered to the card front.

The tag was adhered to the embossed layer then a tiny red brad was placed through a hole made with a push pin. The prongs were spread apart on the inside of the card.

I created the greeting by printing it on white card stock and punching them out with the SU Modern Label punch.  I added a red glitter label which was cut in half crosswise and adhered behind the greeting offset on the left and right.  The greeting is adhered to the card front with 3D foam tape.

Card Club - October - Glitter Star

I started with the polka dot decorative card stock which was trimmed to leave a large border and adhered to the front of a red card.

I cut the stars with the Sizzix Star #2 die which cuts one large star.  I used POW glitter card stock in silver and gold for the stars. The star was adhered to the polka dot layer.

I decided placement of the red star and used a push pin to create a hole in the card front. I then cut a length of white glitzy fiber. I wrapped onto the prongs of the red star brad and press those through the hole and pushed the prongs apart inside the card. Trimmed the ends of the fiber to length with scissors.

Card Club - October - Elegant Thank You

I love the elegance of this card.  I recycled a commercial thank you card  in gold and ivory for the greeting.

I wrapped a length of coordinating fiber around the greeting and tied a knot. I then adhered it to the light blue card front.

I added 2 gold flower sequins on the right and left of the greeting held in place with tiny blue brads which coordinate with the card color.

This kit has blue and pink cards.

Card Club - October - Blue Bird

I chose the decorative layer first. I then chose a navy blue card with a coordinating blue grey layer which was cut to leave a small border.

I wrapped a piece of blue trim across the front of the bird decorative layer and taped the ends to the back.  This layer was then adhered to the card front.

I placed the white silk flower in the top right hand corner.  Using a push pin I created a hole through the card front for the brad. I placed the blue flower then the white flower onto the blue brad then the prongs were inserted through and pressed apart on the inside of the card.

The greeting was color printed in navy onto white card stock then punched with the Stampin Up Decorative Label punch. I placed 3D foam tape behind the greeting lengthwise as to not interfere with the trim.  The greeting was adhered over the trim in the center of the card.

Card Club - October - Gold Handmade Paper

I started with the handmade paper which was painted and highlighted with gold. I cut it into 3" squares.  I then cut 4" squares from gold card stock.
I chose a rust card onto which I glued the gold square on the left side of a landscape card.  I then wrapped a piece of gold metallic ribbon across the front and taped the ends to the inside of the card.
I adhered the gold handmade paper on top of the ribbon.


I chose the grey in the paper for the greeting.  I printed small tags which I trimmed along the edge by hand with scissors.  I repeated the gold one more by choosing a gold paper clip to hold the greeting to the card.

I chose terra cotta, rust and burgundy card bases for these kits.  The greeting can be excluded with no detriment to the final card.

Card Club - Fall 2017 - Incentive

I always prepare a bit of a gift for those ladies who paid for all the fall classes in full.  Saves me having to chase fees.

This is my Thank You card.  A photo card with a 3.5x4.75 inch photo of rocks near my house adhered to the card front.  It was nice to have a bit of greenery on the bottom right hand corner.

Card Club - Sept - Copper Leaves

My card is my nod to fall arriving and thanksgiving. It is a trio of copper leaves.  The leaves were cut with the Tim Holtz Tattered Leaves die.  It cuts these 3 leaves at one time.

I chose some copper metallic handmade paper I purchased a few years ago from a local business which has since closed.  I embossed the most solid one wit the Tim Holtz Cracked embossing folder to provide some texture to the card front.

The background designer paper is by BasicGrey - Pyrus - Oblate.  I loved that it had the copper tone and some wonderful green ones too. 

I added a green raffia bow held in place with a large copper brad. 

I chose not to include a greeting as the leaves fill the card front quite nicely.

Card Club - Sept - Tea Pot

I won this stamp and die set from Paper Sweeties this summer.

I stamped the teapot onto designer card stock by Carta Bella - True Friends - Forever Friends in black ink then cut it out with the die.

I printed the French script background in grey onto the pink card itself.  It's from The Graphics Fairy.

I ripped a piece of white card stock to create my table space then embossed it with the Cuttlebug Diamond in the Rough embossing folder.  I adhered across the bottom of the card in the landscape orientation.

I adhered the teapot onto the card front then placed the small handmade paper flower and flower sequin in the bottom right hand corner of the teapot and held these in place with a tiny white brad.

Card Club - Sept - 4 inch Square

This is based on a design I used this summer.

I cut a 4 inch square of designer paper.  I ripped it in approximately half. Then I ripped the edge with the white showing again to remove the white and leave a bit of space in between.  I then adhered these offset from each in the top left and bottom right hand corners of the turquoise card.

The greeting is color printed on white cardstock and then punched with the 2" oval punch.  I cut the oval scalloped layer with one of the Spellbinder Nestabilities.  These are adhered together then this layer is adhered to the card front overlapping the layers of designer paper.

I am offering greetings for several occasions in this design as well as several colors.

Card Club - Sept - Lily Trio

It's time for Card Club again.  This is a card made from kits from a couple of years back.

I started with the lily stickers then punched a trio of circles in the same color as the large greeting.  The three were layered then adhered above the greeting which was printed on white card stock.

It was trimmed to leave a small border of the black card showing.  These are all birthday greetings.

Card Making with Seniors - DSP Split - Navy Yellow Floral

I love this summer card.

I started with double sided paper designer by Lori Whitlock - For the Record - Floral by Echo Park Paper Co.  It was cut to 5.25 inches by 4 and then cut again at 3.5 inches.  The small piece was turned over to reveal the yellow subtle pattern. These were taped back together.  I placed a piece of navy seam binding across the join and taped the ends to the back.  This layer was then adhered to the front of a yellow card.

I chose 2 different white silk flowers and one small golden yellow handmade paper flower for the accent.  These 3 flowers are layered onto a tiny navy star brad.  I used a push pin to create a hole through the ribbon and card front only then pushed the prongs into it and spread them apart on the inside of the card.

A great card for any occasion.  The small image is the same kit with the designer paper swapped places.

Card Making with Seniors - Flower Trio

I started with the gold foil flower stickers which are about 1 inch in diameter. I stuck them to turquoise card stock then punched them out with the 1.25 inch circle punch. Easier to align that way and ensure even spacing on the border.

I created a new large greeting which I printed on a quarter sheet of vellum and gold embossed it. 

The trio of circle accents were adhered above the greeting first.  This allowed me to know where to put my adhesive to glue it to the card front.

The vellum was adhered to the front of a black card once I had ripped the bottom edge.

Card Making with Seniors - Postage Stamp

This is a stash busting card.  Many years ago I collected postage stamps from letters sent to the place I worked.  I have sorted, culled, and sorted again several times over the years.

I decided on this bright postage in honor of the 125th Anniversary of the Universal Postal Union issued in 1999.  It was soaked off the paper it was glued to and then allowed to dry.

I mounted it to a piece of card stock slightly smaller to stiffen it.

I created a background with script and cancellation stamp images from The Graphics Fairy which goes with the concept of a postage stamp.  Digitally, I added a box for the stamp then printed the background on a quarter sheet. It was trimmed to leave a small border.  It was adhered to the front of the bright green card.

I applied 3D foam tape to the back of the stiff postage stamp and adhered it in the window.

Card Making with Seniors - June - Gear Collage

I wanted a card suitable for a guy in this class so I dug out the Tim Holtz Alterations Gadget Gears by Sizzix.

I selected this multicolored polka dot designer paper from Michaels.  I selected 3 colors of card stock for these cards - rust, medium blue and pea green.

I layered quarter sheets of all three colors of card stock and cut them all at once with this original thick die.  Fast.

The greetings were printed to coordinate with the card color on ivory card stock.

I adhered the piece of designer paper from Recollections at Michaels called Disco Ball to the card front.  I assembled the collage of gears which was adhered to the top of the card. I ripped the top and bottom edge of the greeting and placed it at the bottom of the card below the gears.  It is held in place with tiny gold star brads on the left and right of the greeting.

Here's one with the blue card and the greeting put at the top instead.

Card Club - May - Bright Blossom

This is a nice bright card.  It features clear embossed designer paper from a 12 x12 card stock pad by SEI - Bright Blossom.  The blossom paper was cut 4x4 which yielded 9 pieces.  I chose a solid pink card stock which coordinated, which was cut to 4.00 x 1.25 inches.  These were butted up and tape together on the back to make one piece to cover the yellow card front leaving a small border.  I did do the alternate colors where the card was pink and the ribbon was yellow.
The ribbon was pulled across the designer layer and the ends were taped to the back.  This layer was then adhered to the card front.
The greeting has a solid layer which is offset behind the white color printed greeting.  The label is the Decorative Label punch by Stampin Up.  The solid label is cut across on the center point.  The point is then cut off both pieces. The halves are adhered behind the greeting offset on the left and right hand sides.  This greeting was then adhered to the card front over the ribbon with 3D foam tape.

Card Club - May - Handmade Paper Diecut

The focal element on this card was made with heavy handmade paper.  I colored it with liquid acrylic ink in Olive Green, Purple Lake, and Indian Yellow.  I placed my three colors on my non stick craft sheet and spritzed with water in a spray bottle then placed  my sheet of heavy paper onto it.  It did not spread as it usually does on glossy card stock.  It absorbed quickly and completely.  It took 3 more tries to get the intense coverage I wanted on the handmade paper.  I did fill a couple of spots with a foam brush and color.  It was too thick to curl but it took over night to dry completely. 
Once completely dry, I die cut it with the Sizzix Happy Phrase die.  The die produces Ha and ppy is seperate die cuts.  I chose a deep purple card stock and a olive green accent layer, onto which I printed the word Birthday on the left hand side.  The greeting layer was ripped along the top and bottom edges then adhered to the card front.  Then I used Scotch Quick Dry adhesive in a bottle with a fine tip to adhere the handmade paper letters to the card front aligning them around the printed word.
This left room for the purple daisy confetti on the right hand side which is held in place with a tiny yellow brad.  Love the die cut.  Turned out exactly as I had hoped. 

Card Club - May - 4 Squares

This is a nice simple card to start.  I used some coordinating designer 12x12 card stock from a pad by SEI - Nutmeg.  Pads are nice because they provide automatic card stocks usually solids and patterned that work together.
The greeting layer was designed and printed on ivory card stock.  The cross on the left makes aligning the squares very easy.  Printing was Early Espresso.  It was trimmed to leave a small border and adhered to a paprika color card.
I punched 1.5 inch squares from 2 different designer card stocks - green and brown with my Creative Memories punch.  The opposite corners were corner rounded and then I adhered them with the pointed corners into the center.
