Dr. Barry Laverty is spending his first Christmas in the small town of Ballybucklebo in County Down in Northern Ireland.
There are the seasonal illnesses in the community which means a busy time at the surgery.
Kiddies' Christmas pageants, parties at the Rugby club, and playing Santa Claus for a young mother struggling at this time of year. Fingal dresses up as Santa for the kids Christmas party and presents are handed out to all.
Barry hopes that his girlfriend Patricia will make home for Christmas but it is not looking good.
