Watercolor Sympathy card

Today is the Celebration of Life for my brother-in-law who passed away July 20th. He struggled with health issues for the last few years and his body just gave up.

This card is for my sister on this difficult day.

The card base is SUSummer Starfruit in the A2 size with portrait orientation.

I trimmed the edge to leave a small border and ripped the bottom edge leaving the white edge showing.

I chose a blue strip of cardstock to coordinate.

I cut a dove with my Sizzix Dove die from textured white cardstock. I painted it with pearl and the blue strip as well.  Adhered both to top part of the card.

I added a SU Modern Label punchie greeting in bottom right hand side.

Card Club Kit - Set 1 - Card 2

I chose another sheet of Japanese Origami paper for this card.  This time I cut it into four 3 inch squares.  I chose a blue card to coordinate with the paper. I chose a wide or landscape orientation.

I adhered the gold sticker paper across the card and trimmed it to the edges with scissors. I adhered the origami paper over the gold and placed it on the left hand side.

I selected blue and gold star sequins which I placed on the gold paper to the right.  I used a push pin to create holes in the card front, pushed the prongs of the tiny gold star brad through and spread them apart on the inside of the card.

Sympathy - Cat

I made this card for my sister who had to put her cat of many years down this week.

This has been a season of loss for her because her husband's sister just lost her husband.  That makes 2 losses in a couple of weeks.

He was a well behaved cat. I know because I am not a cat person and he did not bother me when I visited her house.

I am sure she will miss him a lot.

Beauty & The Beast - Thank Yous

I made a couple of these cards to thank my sister and the lady responsible for the tickets for The Beauty and The Beast.  I'm grateful for the opportunity to see live theater and it was a great performance. Check my original posting here.

I started with a royal blue card which I stamped with one of the Stampin Up Itty Bitty Backgrounds in a royal blue ink.  I photographed the rose which everyone in the audience received.  I applied a couple of photo filters and printed and cut it out with one of the smooth round SB Nestabilities.  I cut a piece of white in the corresponding scalloped circle nestie.  I rubbed the edges of the smooth circle with the same royal ink pad. Once glued together I adhered the element to the card front with 3D foam tape.  I added a red cotton ribbon across the bottom 3rd of the card.  I put a slit in the fold so I could pull the ribbon through and tape both ends to the inside of the card. I used a printed sentiment from my stash and rubbed the edges of the SU Decorative Label punchie.  It is also mounted with 3D foam tape.
