Cards - All Occasion - Gold Decorative Paper

I found a sheet of this decorative paper at the ReUse Center a while back. I have used it as a background for photography but now it had to be used.

I recognized that almost any card color would work with it so then it was to decide embellishments.

I need cards for my card box.

I chose SU Soft Sky A2 card base. I ripped a piece of the paper and adhered it to card front with ds tape and some glue stick.

I cut a label with one of the labels from the Chalk Talk die set which included the small oval hole die.

I chose a gold ribbon to go across the bottom so I had to use the SU Slot punch to make a hole in the fold to allow the ribbon to go through.  Once pulled across I taped the ends to the inside of the card.

I cut a star from the gold decorative paper and adhered it to the label.  The insert had to be adjusted a bit to allow for the slot in the fold.  I used the slot punch again.  A half sheet insert and a white envelope.

For this card I chose a red A2 card base and again ripped a piece of the gold decorative paper to fit the card front.  I use double sided tape and glue stick to ensure adhesion.

I wrapped a piece of gold grosgrain ribbon across the front and taped the ends to the inside.

I cut a heart with one of Sizzix Hearts thinlit die set.  I embossed it with the D'vine Swirl folder.  I mounted it over the paper and ribbon with 3D foam tape.

A half sheet insert and white envelope and an another card in the box.

This card has a SU Crushed Curry textured card stock base in the A2 size.

I ripped a piece of the decorative paper for the card front and used DS tape and glue stick to stick it to the front.

I added a length of So Saffron rick rack along the left side and taped the ends to the inside.

I chose a SU Really Rust and So Saffron quarter sheet pieces of card stock and ran them through the Big Shot with the Tim Holtz Tattered Flowers die.   Then I choose the alternating sized flowers and layered them.  I did embossed the 3rd one with the Swiss Dots folder. I added a gold round sequin on to the gold mini brad which holds all the layers to the card front.   I added a half sheet insert and white envelope.

I chose a SU So Saffron A2 card base for this card.

I ripped a piece of the gold decorative paper and adhered to the card front.

I ran a length of So Saffron rick rack along the top edge of the card and taped the ends to the inside.

I cut a star from SU Daffodil Delight card stock with the SU Star thinlit dies and glued a gold star sequin onto it with a Bling Zot.  Then this accent was adhered tot he card front with 3D foam tape.

A half sheet insert and white envelope and I had a set of 4 cards.

Simple Sentiments - Photo - Set 2

Another set of photo cards.

I chose a different presentation for this set.

I chose Stampin Up Soft Suede as the A2 card base, scored in half and folded.

The accent layer is Really Rust cardstock cut to a quarter sheet and cut with the SU Top Note die.  Once cut I then cut it in half cross wise with the paper cutter and then trimmed the center points off with scissors.

I trimmed the photo to 3.5 inches wide to perfectly align with the widest spot on the half Top Note.  This was adhered with tape on the back then process repeated for the bottom half.

I chose a green-brown grosgrain ribbon to lay over the join of the photo and the die cut.  It was pull to the back and taped down with tape.  This layer was then adhered to the front of the card.

A white insert and envelope finished off the card.

This card features a Jacob's Ladder blossom taken at the Botanic Park.

I chose SU Elegant Eggplant for the card base and Lavendar Lace for the Top Note layer.

I ran a piercing tool over the photo to mirror the stitched edge on the Top Note layer.

The grosgrain ribbon is Certainly Celery.

This flower is called a Late Tulip.  I don't remember where to found it.

The cardbase is Daffodil Delight which is half a sheet, scored in half and folded.

The Top Note layer card stock is Old Olive.  Same process to trim sides.

I found some nicely matching grosgrain ribbon in my stash to put over the joins.

A quarter sheet insert and white envelope.

This card features a Copper Skipper which is a butterfly that comes out in early spring.  Usually the first one I see on my walks.

The card base is Mellow Moss and the Top Note layer is Really Rust

I found some Stitched grosgrain ribbon to match the tones of this card.  It is a chocolate brown.

There are a couple of the cards in this set that came from the Nature Photo Calendars so they are more masculine and tones and colors. Works out to balance the set of cards.

This makes a nice set of cards.

Card - Watercolor Pansies

This is a card for my sister.  She celebrates her birthday soon and I wanted it in the mail so it arrives on time.

I found a coloring book page on line to help me with the line drawing of these flowers.

I used Stampin Up Wonder Watercolor Crayons so it would match with the card stock I selected.

The colors are Night of Navy, Elegant Eggplant, Daffodil Delight, More Mustard, and Always Artichoke. Once painted and dry I outlined the image with a fine Micron permanent black marker.  It pressed overnight under several heavy books.

The back petals are a mix of Navy and Eggplant, the center ones are EE and the front one is Daffodil with darker marks with More Mustard. Put a pale background with Night of Navy on the top and Always Artichoke on the bottom.

I chose to trim the watercolor piece to 3.75 x 5 inches. I taped a couple of lengths of grosgrain ribbon in the AA and EE to the back of the watercolor. Brought them forward and held in place with double sided tape and trimmed the ends on an angle. This was adhered to an Eggplant layer leave a small border.  Then that was adhered to the Always Artichoke A2 card base.

Exchange Cards

I got my Exchange cards made for May.

I have decided to use my 4x4 photos from my past calendars.

This is a beautiful Red Poppy I think taken at the community garden.

I chose Tangerine Tango card base with a small piece of green card stock that I taped together on the back.

I stamped the green with Border Builder stamp set - script in Basic Black ink to just to knock down the plainness.

I wrapped a piece of Daffodil Delight ribbon around the element over the join and taped the ends to the back.

I then adhered the full layer to the card front with double sided tape.

This card features a warm rich orange rose taken at the Botanic Park.

I chose the same Tangerine Tango card base.

I added some complimentary strips of card stock behind the photo. Cameo Coral, Groove Guava and Peach Parfait.

I adhered the strips and trim the right hand end with scissors cutting at an angle.

Adhered photo with double sided tape.

Card - Thank You with Bees

I made a card for my niece who passed along a great deal on a Janome Serger earlier this year. After a servicing it has been working really well.

I wanted a card with warm tones. I found a bee graphic on line that I liked then transferred some of the elements to watercolor paper.

I watercolored the background in a light shade of Daffodil Delight. The image was painted with Daffodil Delight and More Mustard. Outlined the elements with dark grey watercolor and a fine brush.  I then created a few shadow hexagons around the outlined ones which I think worked out really well.

Once dry, I mounted the painting onto a Summer Sun card in the A6 size (just a bit smaller than half sheet size).  I placed a piece of narrow stitched grosgrain ribbon in Basic Grey around the inside of the card and taped the ends to be under the watercolor layer.  I added a Modern Label punchie greeting with a yellow offset with a grey greeting on white.  I watercolored the white punchie to be just a little less stark.

Card - Simple Birthday

I started with a pink card which I believe is Stampin Up Pink Passion.  I cut 2 small squares and 1 larger square with my new Sizzix nesting framelits.  The squares are cut from Tempting Turquoise Patterns Pack DSP and the larger from Rainbow Sherbert DSP.  I stamped the sentiment with a stamp from the A Little Birthday Cheer Stamp set.  I then adhered the 2 squares based on a sketch for a challenge.  I cut the butterfly from Daffodil Delight card stock with the Sizzix Winged Beauties framelit set.  I added some definition with a black marker as well as a flight path.

I started with a black card.  I cut a piece of Stampin Up Quatrefancy Specialty DSP to just under 3" the layered it onto Pool Party leaving a small border.  I cut the bottom into a large banner. This layer was adhered to the left hand side of the card.  The greeting is from the So Happy for You stamp set done in black with a square thin border.  This was layered onto a piece of Daffodil Delight card stock leaving a small border. I found a large yellow button to which I tied black thread.   It is held in place with a large Zot.

50th Wedding Anniversary Sample2

Here's the next sample I put together.

I started with a Stampin Up Whisper White card.  I cut a quarter sheet piece of Daffodil Delight yellow to leave a small border and stamped it with the Soft Swirls background stamp with Summer Sun ink.  I wrapped the Tempting Turquoise ribbon across the yellow layer and it was adhered to the card front. I cut the Deco Label framelit in white, then one from the Beyond the Garden DSP in DD and WW. I created a circle accent with the Number It stamp set in TT.  I mounted the larger white one behind the ribbon. The yellow Deco Label diecut and circle accent is mounted over the ribbon with 3D foam tape.

Baby Announcement Cards

I made these baby announcement cards for a friend's daughter who is expecting a baby and the shower is today!

I went with non traditional colors of yellow and green.  I used Stampin Up digitals: Letter It Stamp Set and Ice Cream Parlor Ribbon and Buttons.  The colors are Daffodil Delight and Old Olive. The letters were given a shadow to add dimension. I designed the main element and color printed. I added it to a layer of yellow.  I used Bazzil Mexican Poppy because I did not have Daffodil Delight card stock.  This was then layerd onto a white card.
The banner was color printed and cut with the Bitty Banners Framelit set.  It was adhered to the card front with 3D foam tape.

The insert was customized with these colors.

These clear boxes are working out so well to present a set of cards in a professional and elegant way.
