Note Card & Encouragement Card Gift Sets

I made a couple of Note Card and Encouragement Card Gift sets today.

I created some new encouragement cards in the portrait orientation with some great art from Pixabay.  The hummingbird and mushroom ones are posted below.

These cards were included in these 2 gift sets along with some made with a landscape image from Maria (see image below) and some I designed a while back.

One of these will be given to a couple who is starting new roles.

This landscape was created by Maria S.  I used the image in black as well as I converted the image into sepia, artichoke, and navy.

Be Present for Christmas - Lesson 7 - God in the Manger

Today, we focus of the babe in the manger.  Jesus is born.

The suggestion was made that we make thank you cards.  Some are still working on advent calendars so I changed my plans and made simple thank you cards.  I used the cards available at the local arts and crafts store.  I then selected some Christmas and non Christmas frame images to surround the greeting at the center of the card.  I made 2 of each design.  The images were selected from Clker and Graphics Fairy.
We started with gratitude and we end with gratitude.  God comes quiet... The victory is won.  All of conquered heaven and grateful earth echo and throb tonight with the heart cry of the God-Child. I did it for love.
The greatest Gift laid into our empty hands...  Grace is weightless.

We have had a very good class.  I have learned a lot and I believe the ladies enjoyed it as well.

Have a stress free Christmas season.  Today was the first snow for us so it's starting to look a lot like Christmas.

I'm selecting my lessons from The Greatest Gift by Ann Voskamp.  The book provides 24 lessons for each day of Advent of which I have chosen 7 for this class.  We will have readings, questions, discussion, and an activity each week.  I handed out this freebie from Ann's website.  You don't have to work for Christmas.

Thank You Card - Alphabet Photos

Here's my Thank You card to the girls who have signed up for Card Club.

I've been working on my inventory of letters for several years.  I decided to go ahead and start using them.  I laid out the letters and added 2 frames around the words. One skinny one wider.  Printed them on white card stock.

Here's how I packaging their small gift.  I used treat bags in a warm yellow color.  I used the same paper clips I had used on the Gift Card Holders to keep the bags closed.  I added a small note which I personalized with their names.

Blessing Note Card

I needed a quick card to include in a bag of craft supplies I am contributing to a friend's budding crafting adventure.  I chose a small lavender envelope and cut a scrap of antique white linen card stock to fit inside.  I stamped the Ornate Pear by Rubber Stampede with purple for the pear and green for the stem and leaf.
I dug through my stash of ribbon and pulled out narrow, medium and wide ribbon in a variety of colors as well as texture including satin and grosgrain.

She is working on large letter decorator items as well as Scrabble Tile tree ornaments.
Stash busting is always a good thing.

Card Set - Card Club Thank You

I made a set of small note cards as a thank you to the ladies who signed up for Card Club.  I used Stampin Up digitals.  I tried to match the card colors with the envelopes I had on hand.

This card is from the Eventful Year collection.  I placed the banner and used the Thank You from the same collection in Poppy Parade.

This card is a flower stamp from the Fresh Vintage set.  The color is Lucky Limeade with a black outline.  I added a thin black border.
This birthday card is done with Pretty Petites in Groovy Guava and Chocolate Chip.

The star is from Sprinkled Expressions in Baja Breeze.

On this card I used Feeling Sentimental in black on white card with pink envelopes.  I used the phone booth and the ferris wheel

This is a set of cards which adds to the recipients supply on hand. They can quickly write up a quick note or add to a gift when needed.

Nifty Notes - New Images

I made some more Nifty Notes for a co-worker who is leaving.  She going to a job where blank note cards will come in handy.  She thought the tea pot was particularly cool.  I agree.

This cards are produced by overlaying a white clip art in white onto a decorative paper which I created. These images are from Clker. Some I've changed and added features.  The background images range from alcohol ink, watercolor and stenciled. Because these are wide on the card I was able to use different images that I used in the past.

Here's a couple links to the ones I made a while ago. Images with Words and just images.

Card Club - Thank You

I have several Stampin Up! digital CDs.  There are rules as to how you can use them. It's OK to make cards and give them away so that is what I did.  I made these for Card Club as a thank you.
I used images from Eventful Year, Madison Avenue, Sweet Summer, Fresh Vintage and Feeling Sentimental.  I colored some of them and use some as they came. Printed them on small ivory cards. These are great to include with a gift or to give someone a pick me up.  I matched them with ivory envelopes left over from another project.  I hope the girls enjoy them!

Gift - Sewing Note Cards

I made these note cards for my niece.  I found these wonderful envelopes with sewing patterns on them and decided to make cards to go with them.  I searched on line for vintage sewing patterns. The art work on these patterns is quite remarkable. I selected 4 that coordinated with the greetings I had selected. Then I added the "sew" greetings to them.  The cards are smaller than A2 so I cut down my card stock then color printed them on the white cards.  I think they look fabulous.  She sews so I hope she likes them.

Cards - Nifty Notes 2

Here's the other 2 sets of the note cards I made over the weekend to help me fill some smaller envelopes I had.  These are too small to mail so they would work best when you need a card to give someone personally or to include in a gift or parcel.  These are the Sewing and Encouraging sets.  I know a lot of quilters who would appreciate being able to give a card with their interests expressed on the front.  The vintage images are from Graphics Fairy.  Check out Karen's collection of images from old books.
The other set is designed to give to those we know who are going through a tough time and need to know that someone is thinking about them and they are not alone.  These are designed with my own photos.  These have been placed on my Ready 2 Give tab.

Notecards - Madison Avenue

Another set of note cards for someone who has lost a husband recently.  It's a time when thank you cards come in handy.
These are again the small note cards onto which I printed some digital images from the Stampin Up Madison Avenue set.  I added colorful centers in yellow, turquoise and pink.  Quick and easy.

Notecards - Colorful Dots & Flags

More note cards today.  I decided to see if I could find a few images that were colorful.  Here's a couple from the 2012 Eventful Year CD. Having digital stamps really helps in getting cards made quickly which is the situation I'm facing.

The note cards had the sentiment already printed so I just added the colorful dots and soft colored flags.  I hope to get them delivered today.

Card - Digital - Sycamore Street Notecards

These are some note cards I designed with digital paper from the Stampin Up! Sale-a-Bration 2013 CD.  These papers are all from the Sycamore Street Designer Paper.  I used the Pretty Petites stamps and the Petite Curly punch.  The flower on the top left and bottom right cards is from Sweet Summer Stamp set from the 2011 SAB CD.

Cards - Christmas Photos

I wanted to create some cards using seasonal subject matter. Not many Christmas pictures in my 2010 photo collection. I had to go digging into my archives for ones that would work. The dove picture was taken a couple of years ago on a friend's Christmas tree. The poinsettia was given to us at work and I shot a few pics of it. Working with Adobe Photo Elements is getting easier. I really like to take close up pics but I'm finding when adding frames to them later means I'm losing some of the image. I will adapt my approach and find some appropriate subject matter this year!

Card - Angel Photo

This is a card I created with one of the angel photos I took this summer. I removed a few distracting elements from the photo. The angel statue was a brown color so I decided to convert it from color to sepia. The coloring helped to define the top of the oval mask frame I placed over the image. The card was printed on natural parchment cardstock so sepia was a good choice in that regard. The words were printed in dark brown. It was color laser printed.
