Card Making - Donation - IWin

I made some butterfly cards today.  These cards will be donated to IWin who assist women in distress.

I started by printing a small butterfly graphic from Pixabay onto 110lb card stock.

I watercolored the image with Stmampin Up Watercolor Wonder crayons.  The background is a toned down color with blue and purple in it.  The butterfly is Marina Mist and branch Old Olive.

Once it was dry and back to being flat, I adhered it to a teal A2 card base.

I added a white quarter sheet insert.

This card base is Tempting Turquoise with a coordinated designer paper layer on the front.  It is cut 4"x5.25 inches.  It was adhered to the card front.

I cut the butterfly from watercolor designer paper with the Serendipity Butterfly die.  I cut another from Daffodil Delight card stock and cut it in half, trimmed a few bits and layered it behind the diecut offsetting to see the yellow layer.  I added the body and antennea wit a black marker.

The greeting is the same yellow card stock punched with the Modern Label and topped with a Word Window punchie greeting in white.

I added a flight trail with the black marker. White quarter sheet insert.

The butterfly was cut with the Serendipity Floral Butterfly die both layers.  The floral and the solid back.

The floral one is a but of a pain to remove from the die and not tear it.  Then gluing is another challenge.  It looks great when glued down.

I chose a blue card base to match the floral layer. I chose some vellum from the Stampin Up Botanical Gardens pack.  Cut it to leave a small border. I adhered the greeting and the butterfly to the front then could place double sided tape to the back to it would not show to the front.

The greeting was mounted with 3D foam tape.

A white quarter sheet insert was added.

The butterfly was cut with the Serendipty Stamps Floral Butterfly solid die from floral designer paper.

I chose an orange A2 card base to which I adhered a kraft and gold dot designer card stock.

I then added a teal card stock strip on the left hand side.

I added a kraft body to the butterfly and glued it down to the card front and added antennae and flight path with a black marker.

I colored the Modern Label punchie greeting with a bit of watercolor to tone down the white.   It is adhered with 3D foam tape. A white quarter sheet insert.

The bright colors in this card.  I chose a Pacific Point A2 card base.

I layered a piece of green DSP from the Oh So Ombre DSP Pack cut to leave a small border.

The butterfly has both of those colors in the paster paper.  Cut with the Serendipity Floral Butterfly solid die.

I added the body, antennae and flight path with a black marker.

I added white quarter sheet insert.

This A2 card is placed in the wide orientation.

The card matches well with the butterfly in a blue green card base.

The butterfly was cut from commercial decorative paper. Black marker to add antennae and body lines.

I punched a scalloped and smooth oval with Stampin Up punches.

Stamped the greeting with a small SU Stamp.

A quarter sheet insert added.

An A2 Marina Mist card base.

A layer of vellum from the Botanical Garden pack.  Cut to size to leave a small border.

A butterfly cut with the Serendipity Stamps Floral Butterfly solid die from watercolor paper.

Adhered the Modern Label Greeting and the butterfly to the vellum.  Then placed double sided tape to back where the elements would hide it.  Adhered to the card front.

I added the antennea and flight path with black marker.

A white quarter sheet insert.  Press overnight and these will be ready to go.

Cards - Charity - IWin

I found out that we need a few more cards for our delivery to our charity for their work in November.

Since I have time with my one sewing project done I decided to spend some time on cards.

I used the Stampin Up Beautiful Butterflies die to cut the winged creatures.

For this card I chose SU Pacific Point card base in the A2 size. I added a strip of Rich Razzleberry card stock embossed with the DVine Swirls folder. It was adhered on the right of center.

I added the largest of the butteflies cut from marbled paper. I added a hand cut body with marker antennea. I used the marker to add stitching along both edges of the purple strip.

The greeting is the classic combo of the Modern Label punchie with the Word Window punchie. I will run out of these printed ones and I hope I have some rubber stamps I can use till I get a new printer.

For this card, it was designed in the portrait orientation.

I added stitching using the outline of the off cut from the first large butterfly.  I then placed the smaller butterfly from the same marbled paper over it and adhered with double sided tape.  Added the antennea and body to the butterfly.

I added a strip of black card stock along the top of the card and mounted the same greeting combo which featured a purple Modern Label punchie mounted with 3D foam tape.

A white quarter sheet insert and a white envelope will finish each of these cards.

This card featured Night of Navy card base.

The embossed layer is white done with a Cuttlebug foliage folder. It was placed right of center.

The butterfly was cut from commercial handmade paper printed with silver ink from India.
It received its body and antenna same as the others.

The greeting matches with silver printed paper. Word Window is black with coordinates well.

More marbled paper on this card for the large butterfly.  It received its body and antennea same as the others.  I added stitiching with a black marker.

The card base is Brilliant Blue.

The embossed layer is a piece of Whisper White with was embossed with the Stampin Up Script folder.

The greeting is the Modern Label with matches the butterfly and the Word Window in black.

White quarter sheet insets and white envelopes.

Cards - Charity - IWin

I picked up some clear butterfly stickers at Dollarama when I picked up the car today.

The card base is Stampin Up Pacific Point in the A2 size.

I chose some Ranger Alcohol ink in red tones to match the butterfly.  I think the color is Red Pepper.  I diluted it with rubbing alcohol and spread it onto my clear embossed card stock.

I cut a strip of no shed gold glitter card stock to coordinate with the gold in the stickers.  I mounted the butterfly onto the gold strip.

Added a greeting with the SU Modern Label punchie in card base color and a Word Window punchie greeting coordinating color.  White quarter sheet insert.

This card is in the wide or landscape orientation with the Pacific Point card color with a inked clear embossed card stock colored with alcohol inks.

Another narrow strip of non shed glitter card stock.

The butterfly sticker was adhered over the gold strip.

A SU Modern Label punchie in Pacific Point with a coordinating colored Word Window greeting.

A white quarter sheet insert.

I chose SU Tempting Turquoise card base with a layer of my own paste paper cut to leave a medium border.

A strip of non shed gold glitter card stock across the top third of  the card with the butterfly stick mounted over it.

I added a Stampin Up small oval punching greeting in a coordination color.  Added a bit of blue pencil crayon around the edge and mounted with 3D foam tape.

Added a white quarter sheet insert.

This card has the same Tempting Turquoise card base with a looser pattern in the paste paper which I create myself.

Added a narrow strip of non shed gold glitter card stock adhered with double sided tape.

Mounted the blue butterfly sticker over the gold strip.

I added a Modern Label punchid in turquoise with a Word Window greeting adhered to the punchie.

Added a white quarter sheet insert.

Cards - Donation - Teacher Appreciation

This top card is a reused card front from a card I made long ago.

It is another piece of marbled paper with added frame with metallic gel pen mounted on a grey paper. I trimmed the card front so I could clean up the edges and mount it onto another card.

I chose a Stampin Up Blushing Bride card base.

I have beautiful origami paper pack brought back by a friend who when to visit her daughter in Japan.

I chose an Old Olive card base then added a piece of Night of Navy seam binding knotted on the front and adhered it all to the card front.

This floral motif marbled paper just needed a focal point so I added a daisy punchie in Pacific Point with a gold sequin and blue tiny brad.

I added a narrow strip of the same blue card stock along the left hand side on card front then adhered the marbled paper layer on top.

These again have white quarter sheet inserts and envelopes.

Cards - Watercolor Abstract

I wanted to add some cards to my stash so I chose to reuse the bright watercolors I created in this post.

I cut the watercolor art into pieces.  In this card 4x5.25 inches.  I then used a Micron fine black marker and outlined the shapes in the watercolor.

I followed the idea of neurographic art and rounded the intersections of the black lines.  I added a border all the way around. Added circles to some of the white dots.

I used a black marker to darken the edge of the watercolor paper.

Mounted on Stampin Up Island Indigo card stock with a quarter sheet insert on the inside paired with a white envelopee.

For this card I cut the watercolor art to 3.5 inches square.

Again, added black marker lines around the shapes in the watercolor.  Soften the intersections and circled some of the dots in the art.

Added a black border all the way around.

I mounted it leaving even edges around 2 side onto a SU Gumball Green A2 card base.

Added a white insert and envelope.

This one had a good variety of colors so there was a good choice of colors for card base.

In this card, I chose SU Pacific Point in the A2 size.  These I did mount all in the portrait orientation but they could be landscape (wide) as well.

I love the bright spot of pink in this piece of watercolor.

Again, black marker to outline the shapes in the watercolor with a border all the way around.

A white quarter sheet insert and envelope.

The card base on this card is an A2 in the SU Kiwi Kiss color.

The watercolor was cut to 3.5 inches square.

Mounted to the card front with double sided tape.  I added white quarter sheet insert and an envelope.

Pressed under books over night and is now sitting in the box.

These were fun to do and allowed my art to shine again.

Cards - Christmas Snowflakes

This background paper is wrapping paper.  I liked the color scheme so I brought it home from ReUse despite having too much designer paper already.

I cut it to leave a border on the A2 card of SU Ballet Blue card stock.

I cut the snowflakes with the Stampin Up Snow Flurry Bigz die from white and Tempting Turquoise card stock.

The solid circle is punched with the 1.75 inch punch.  These were layered and aligned along the left hand side of the card.  All held in place with a white mini brad.

Full half sheet blank insert with a white envelope.

This card features a SU Lovely Lilac textured A2 card base.

A background of lovely mosaic purple toned wrapping paper.

I cut the snowflakes with the Snow Flurry Bigz Die.  Punched a circle of 1" from the same card stock as the card base.

All held in place with a mini brad in a warm purple color.

I added a banner along the bottom edge from the card base card stock.

I may add a greeting later.

Full white insert to cover the brad tabs showing on the inside of the card.  White envelope to finish.

This was very versatile paper because I made 4 cards with 4 different colored card bases.

This card base is Orchid Opulence in an A2 size with landscape orientation.

I cut the snowflakes with SU Snow Flurry Bigz die.  The middle snowflake was cut from Pacific Point card stock.

These are all held in place with a purple mini brad.

I complete forgot that I would use silver on some of these cards. It is what it is.

Full half sheet insert and white envelope.

The card base on this card is Bashful Blue in an A2 size.

I cut the snowflakes with the Stampin Up Snow Flurry Bigz die.

The smaller snowflake is Brilliant Blue and the stack of die cuts are held in place to the card front with a snowflake specialty brad.

I added a strip of the card color under the snowflake stack.

Full half sheet insert and white envelope.

Glad to have a few Christmas cards in my box as it is nearly half way through the year.

Happy with these.

Round Thank You

I started with a Stampin Up Always Artichoke card and I selected the In the Spotlight stamp set.  I cut the large circle from the Painted Blooms DSP with a Spellbinder Smooth Circle Nestabilities thin die.  I then stamped the circle from the set with Purely Pomegranate ink on Rich Razzleberry card stock.  I cut it with a Nestabilities die.  I then stamped the circle greeting with Pacific Point on white which I punched with a 5/8" punch.  I punched a .75" circle in the same blue. I layered them together. I stamped the dotted border in the same blue on white.  I trimmed it evenly on both top and bottom and flagged it's right hand end.  I stamped the same dotted border in Always Artichoke onto the card front creating a working space for my trio of circles.  I then adhered the largest circle in the top left hand corner then the medium Rich Razzleberry next to the right of the first one.  I glued the blue dotted banner parallel to the green one.  I glued the blue greeting over the left hand end of the banner.
