Winter Wonderland Birthday card

This is a birthday card for my Dad.

I created a winter wonderland with diecut trees, a snowbank and a large greeting.  I spattered it with Maya Mist Iridescent Pearl spray.

I chose the half sheet size using 1 sheet of light blue card stock to simulate the sky.  It accomodated the large greeting better as well.

The trees were cut from a couple of pieces of green card stock.  I put the lighter one in front.  I stacked them against each other.

The large greeting was cut with the Memory Box Jumbled Happy Birthday die and the same color as the darker trees.  The snow bank was cut with the Creative Memories Decorative Trimmer from heavy card stock.  All pieces were adhered with quick dry adhesive by Scotch.

I spattered it with iridescent liquid as the spray no longer works.  I put a couple of drops on a plate and used an old toothbrush and an old knife to create snow on this landscape.

Christmas Stack - Winter Skate

Like this one!  I used the Tim Holtz Bigz Ice Skates die to cut the skate from heavy white card stock. I would recommend heavy card stock. I chalked the heel with black and painted the skate blade with silver acrylic paint.  I chalked the lace area and cuff with teal chalk to coordinate with the card color.  I put red laces on the skate and tied a knot and trimmed the ends.  See the next post below for detailed instructions. I spritzed the teal card stock with Maya Mist Iridescent Pearl. I cut a Stampin Up Top Knot die cut from decorative paper then I cut it straight across on the point.  This was glued even with the top of the card.  I color printed the greeting then punched it out with my 2" oval punch.  I then cut a scalloped oval with the Spellbinder Nestabilities #3 in the small set from red card stock.  The greeting was layered onto the scallop oval then this layer was adhered over the top note with 3D foam tape.  The skate was adhered below the top note on the card front with 3D foam tape.

Card - Challenge - Washi Tape

I made these cards for a card challenge on my internet group. The challenge is to use Washi Tape.  I didn't have some in my stash so I searched the internet and found this Washi Tape Tutorial.  I made tape with double sided tape and tissue paper. I used non stick craft sheet which worked really well!

I applied my tape to black card stock in a variety of directions, shapes and sizes. It needed something to unify the pieces so I sprayed the collage with Maya Mist Snowy White which provided just what I wanted.  I cut the collage pieces with the TH Ornamental die.  I selected 2 cards which worked with the colors on the collage. I applied a silver card stock strip behind the die then added a star in the same card stock in the top left hand corner.  I added greetings in the bottom right hand corner which were applied to a SU Modern Label punchie then the accent was applied to the card front with 3D Foam Tape.  The left one is Thank which was cut with the Cricut.  Right is color printed greeting cut with the SU Word Window punch.
