Valentine Cookies
I made these for my Fruit of the Spirit Bible Study which was supposed to start today but the weather had something to say about it. Woke up with blowing snow coming down so I cancelled the session for today.

Mosaic Monday - Valentine's Day
I have been working on my digital photography editing skills. (One of my goals for 2017) I started out with an image I put together while I was working on a challenge on my Flickr group. I have been gathering texture images and I was fortunate that my sister gave me a piece of cheese cloth last time I was there so I took a photo of it against black and white backgrounds. The other layer that I added was an image of a frozen pond with horizontal textures. This week I learned how to create an editing mask so that I can reveal my main elements through the 2 textures I had applied over them. Wishing everyone a nice Valentine's Day.I was out to visit my Mom and Dad on the weekend and I shared with her my Tea Cup Coaster project. She donated several small pieces of fabric toward the cause. I really enjoy making them. Now I have a good variety of fabric designs to ensure they are all unique.
This was breakfast this morning. A cup of Raspberry Thriller tea in a small bone china teacup set. Rye bread toast with peanut butter and Raspberry Jam. I used one of the napkins I received from Margie at Tea in the Valley in her blog give away. Pink was the color scheme and it fit right in. I placed a Battenburg lace heart at the top of the placemat which has a saying about grand daughters. A pink stained glass angel set in a wooden base stands at the top of the place setting.

I am joining Maggie who hosts Mosaic Monday #27.

R2G Card Kits - Valentine - Red Heart Punch
Here's the last card design in the set of card kits. I started with Crate Paper Love Notes DSP. I chose the heart side and cut the paper to 2" x 5". I designed the Valentine greeting and color printed it. It was cut to 3" x 5.25". I adhered the heart DSP just above the greeting. This layer was adhered to the centre of the warm blue card front. I added a Stampin Up Sweeheart punchie in red. The punchie is raised with 3D foam tape. It still needed something and a bit of red polka dot washi tape was just the ticket. I placed a piece on the top right hand and bottom left hand corners.

R2G Card Kits - Valentine - Antique Map Heart
I started with the antique map heart. I used my Cricut with the Folk Art Festival cartridge to cut the solid heart at 3". with a 4" sheet on portrait I was able to cut 4 per 12 inches. I created a gate fold card from kraft card stock. I scored from each end at 2 1/8". When I folded the card I made sure I had a bit of a space left in the middle. The antique map designer card stock is by Gartner - Bon Voyage - Map. It is double sided with solid red on the back. I cut a .75 x 5.5" strip and adhered it to the back side of the left hand flap leaving at half showing which creates this thin red line when the right hand flap is in place. I placed adhesive on only one half of the heart and adhered it to the left hand fold. I aligned the centre of the heart over the red line. I think it makes a classy simple card. The fact that the right hand flap is sandwiched between the red strip and the heart keeps the card closed. Works well!

Alternative: Turn the heart over and you have a red heart! It works well on the kraft card.

R2G Card Kit - Valentines - Owl Heart Circle
Do all Valentine's card need to be pink or red?
I don't think so. I found this blue and green round tag freebie at Poppies at Play. I sized it to 2" and cut it with one of the smooth circle Spellbinders nestabilities. Then I cut a heart circle frame with SB - Heart Circles nestabilities which was perfect for the 2" circle. I added a 2" strip of black card stock layered onto a wider strip of white card stock. This was placed onto a blue card. Once the owl greeting was adhered to the green heart circle it was adhered to the card front with 3D foam tape. I thought the sentiment was great!

R2G Card Kit - Valentine - Paper Heart Doily
This is the first card design of a large order of Ready 2 Go Valentine card kits I have just finished preparing. It was an order for 100 card kits. Valentine is not my usual thing so creating these card designs was a bit of a stretch for me.
You will remember these doily hearts from this posting. I created a polka dot background in black that I printed directly onto the card. This card is 4.25 x 11 and therefore has the fold at the top of the card. I wanted to add a bit of black to the heart to help tie it all together. I used a Stampin Up Itty Bitty Background stamp with Versafine Onyx Black. I placed my adhesive on the solid centre of the heart and placed it at the top of card. I dyed the thread at the same time as the hearts so they match perfectly. I added a black thread as well which I wrapped around the card front and knotted on the front. I added a metal heart charm before I tied the second knot. I trimmed the thread ends and added my insert.
