Self Closing Card - Christmas

I cut the Memory Box Birch Tree Trio from black pearl paper. I left some at the bottom attached so I could glue them all together onto the sparkly paper.

I added a pearl snowbank with I cut with my Cricut Ceramic Knife. Works very well.

I punched a moon from the same paper and placed it behind the trees then used Quick Dry Adhesive to glue the trunks of the trees.

All put onto a teal card base measuring 6x12 inches. Scored at 5.5 inches and just less than 1" for the flap.   Double sided tape on flap and generous insert.

Sparkly paper background with a silver foil star cut with the Sizzix Star #2 die.  Mounted with 3D foam tape.

A greeting with SU Modern Label punchie and a SU Word Window greeting.

Dark green card base measuring 6x12 inches. Scored at 5.5 inches and just less than 1" for the flap.   Double sided tape on flap and generous insert.

A navy card base measuring 6x12 inches. Scored at 5.5 inches and just less than 1" for the flap.

I cut the Sizzix Large Starburst with a thick die from silver matte card stock.

It was mounted on a piece of white textured decorative paper strip.

A SU Modern Label punchie in silver offset behind a white one with blue greeting. Mounted with 3D foam tape.

A background of sparkly paper.

Double sided tape on flap and generous insert.

Another Tim Holtz Winter Wonder snowman card.  Cut from white card stock.

The snowflake and the Creative Memories star punchie from pearl card stock.

A great sparkly paper background and a pearl snowbank hand cut with the ceramic knife.

This card base is green linen which measures 6x12 inches and is scored at 5.5" and just less than 1" for the flap.

Christmas Card Challenge - July - Polar Bears

Getting caught up on my Christmas Card Challenge.

July's challenge was polar bear and I decided to use my Cricut - Joy of the Season cartridge. It was cut at 1.5 inches and this time I cut the shadow in gold as well as the scarf. I put the some black ink in the ear, eye and nose.

I used gold star background card stock cut to 5.25 x 2.25 inches adhered to the top of the dark brown card. I then ripped a few snow banks from white card stock which were adhered over the first layer.

The polar bear was adhered to the card front with 3D foam tape. I love how the shadow shows against the snow bank.  I punched the star from the same gold card stock used on the bear with the Creative Memories Sparkle punch.  It was adhered with a Bling Zot.

Christmas Card Challenge - Bethlehem

Last year my Christmas Card Challenge fell apart so I am trying again.

I chose a warm white card base and added a designer paper leaving a small border. I cut the Taylored Expressions Bethlehem Border from a scrap of warm blue.  I added a ripped white layer along the border and another to match the designer paper.  I punched a star with the Creative Memories Sparkle Punch.  I stamped the greeting in the bottom right hand corner with the stamp from Stampin Up Come to Bethlehem set with a warm blue marker.

I cut the Taylored Expressions Bethlehem Border from a scrap of Bashful Blue.

I printed the greeting and star on the card base. I added a similar textured layer along the border and ripped the bottom edge. I have added a season inserts.

R2Go Christmas Stack - Turquoise Dove & Copper Ribbon

I started with the Turquoise Dove Die cuts created with the Stampin Up Deco Label thinlits.

I added a metallic copper circle behind the diecut.  Two pieces of 3D foam tape was added to the back.

The decorative black copper layer was created with Antique Copper Mist by Maya Mist applied with a toothbrush rubbed across a metal butter knife. It was left to dry over night.

Lay the copper ribbon across the decorative layer and determine the placement of the turquoise cord.  Tie the turquoise cord onto the copper ribbon then tape the ends to the back layer.  Adhere the layer to the front of the white card base.

Remove the release paper from the 3D foam tape and adhere the dove element over the ribbon on the right hand side of the card.

Pull the star & Bling Zot from the release paper and adhere to the card front as per the sample.

R2Go Christmas Stack - Bethlehem

I first created decorative backgrounds with liquid ink and photo paper.  I inks I used are Rotring Blue Violet, FW Rowney Blue and Maya Mist Antique Copper.  I got some blue, some purple and some with the colors mixed.

I selected a white card base with a black layer leaving a small border to ensure the focal element would shine.  I cut the decorative paper with the Tim Holtz Arch Frame.  I cut the Bethlehem from 3.25 x 1.5 inch piece of copper card stock with the Taylored Expressions Bethlehem Border.  This was adhered to the decorative frame.  I cut the window frame with the Tim Holtz Arch Frame die with the large Sized Arches Mover Shaper die inside of it.  It was adhered over the copper diecut and aligned to the frame.

The star was created with the Creative Memories Sparkle punch from the same copper card stock.  It is held in place with a tiny copper star brad.  The focal element was then adhered to the card front.

The greeting was printed black and punched with the Stampin Up Word Window punch. It was adhered to a Modern Label punchied from the same decorative paper that the Arch Frame was cut from.  This ensured color matching.   It was adhered to the card front with 3D foam tape.

Christmas Card Order - Layered Cards

More cards in the Christmas Card order.

This is the QuicKutz Nativity Border die cut in black card stock.  It was mounted in front of a gold stars on a white background card stock.  I chose a black card to repeat the black in the foreground.

I added a punched gold star with the Creative Memories Sparkle punch from sticker paper and adhered it to the star above the stable.

This is a lot of gluing to get it well adhered to the card.

This is a nativity graphic I found on the web.

I created a graphic which included the holy family and a greeting. This was then printed on vellum and embossed with silver powder. It was trimmed close the border.

The vellum was layered onto a piece of blue alcohol ink background card stock I created a while ago.

I added 4 tiny pewter colored brads in each corner.  I placed 3D foam on each corner and adhered this layer to the blue card front.

I chose several pieces of alcohol ink backgrounds. This card features some aqua background paper with coordinating card stock.
I created this card using the Penny Black Manger die on copper metallic card stock.  I added it to a green ornament die cut. This is the Sizzix Ornament #2.  It is held in place with a tiny copper star brad.  I added some dark brown seam binding on the ornament hanger.

I embossed a piece of cream pearl card stock with the Cuttlebug D'Vine Swirls folder.  I added it to the front of a dark brown card.

The ornament was then adhered to the front the card with 3D foam ornament.

I did a few with a cooler green colored ornament as well.

The order will be delivered today!

Bethlehem - Navy and White

My sister and I recently invested in the Bethlehem Border die by Taylored Expressions.  Love it!

The die does not cut the bottom edge so you can place the die cut where you want on the layer.

I used some navy card stock with white speckles in to create a night sky.

I cut the Memory Box Grand Merry Christmas die in white card stock.

The Bethlehem was cut in navy.  I adhered it to the white greeting layer then trimmed it to the edge of the white. These were then adhered to the card front. Cutting the die on an angle in the Big Shot works better than at 90 degrees.  I am using the metal adapter.

I punched a star for the sky with the Creative Memories Sparkle punch from shed free silver glitter card stock.  It was adhered with a Bling Zot.

This card features the Memory Box Grand Script Merry Christmas die.  This die needs me to keep track of the little piece in the `y`and ensure it is adhered in the right place.

The Bethlehem was cut shorter which leaves a white space below.

I will try to cut a wavy in the bottom of the navy Bethlehem piece to create sand dunes.

I made 4 of these for the craft sale.

I tried the wavy bottom and it works really well.

Christmas Card Challenge - April - Peace Coloring Large Greeting

Here's my card for April. I worked on the coloring by making my own background with the bubble technique.  You can check out the details on this post.  I printed the "on Earth" and a few bubbles onto the layer with the color printer. I chose to cut the greeting with the Cricut and the Winter Woodland cartridge.  It was cut at 1.75".  I chose a pale yellow card stock.  I chose a warm blue card which matched very well with the bubble paper. The background layer was adhered to the card front then the greeting was glued on next.  I punched a star from silver glitter paper with the Creative Memories Sparkle punch. It was adhered just above the greeting. Super happy with these cards.

On this second set of cards I used the blue bubble paper.  I selected a deep warm blue card. Trimmed the background paper leaving a small border.  I cut the greeting from silver glitter paper which worked great! The star is punched from the same card stock as the card. This added a good number of cards to my stash.

R2G Card Kit - Polar Bear

I'm working on Ready 2 Go kits for my upcoming classes.  I just love this polar bear from the Cricut Joy of the Season cartridge. He was cut at 2.25" from white paper.  I cut his scarf from non shedding glitter paper and adhered it to the bear die cut. I added his ear, eye and nose with a black marker. The star is from the same glitter paper punched with the Creative Memories Sparkle punch.  I selected a white card and then adhered a dark blue/light blue star background designer paper by Creative Imaginations leaving a small border.  I then designed a vellum greeting layer including the sentiment, trees and a line representing a snowbank.  I color printed it then clear embossed it. I trimmed inside a grey border I had included when printing.  I then adhered the bear to the vellum with dry adhesive and the star with a small Zot.  Then I turned it over and only applied dry adhesive to the areas covered by the bear and star to ensure the adhesive did not show through the vellum.  This layer was then adhered to the card front leaving a small border of the blue star paper.
