Card Making - Sets Continue

I switched to the "In Full Bloom" Simply Scrapping Kit for these cards.

I picked the Sage Shadow card stock from the 12x12 kit and trimmed it down to make two A2 cards with a few left over pieces.

On the left, I cut the desinger paper to 4.00x5.25 inches and then wrapped a wide piece of Baja Breeze gros grain ribbon around it and taped the ends to the back. I adhered the layer to the card front. I created an accent by punching a bee from the DSP with the .75 inch circle punch then added a 1" punched circle in Barely Banana card stock. Layered these and adhered over the ribbon.  On the right is the other designer paper in the kit. I ripped the right hand edge of the DSP layer leaving to show the white core of the paper. I added a strip of white card stock on the left and then added another circle bee accent like in the previous card.

Contiued with the same scrapping kit.
Cut each of the designer papers to the leave a small border. The A2 card bases are Barely Banana card stock 12x12 cut to 8.5 x 11 cut in two for these cards.

On the left, I created an accent with a strip of Sage Shadow with Barely Banana  squares and bling brads. The strip was mounted with 3D foam tape to accommodate the brad backs which are quick thick.  On the right, I made slits in the designer paper to accommodate a strip of Barely Banana card stock making sure I did  not cover the yellow elements. I taped that strip down on the back with scotch tape. I added a narrow strip of Lavendar Lace cardstock over the yellow and adhered with double sided tape.

Each card gets a white quarter sheet insert and a white envelope.

Graduation Card

A card for my sister who has graduated from her university business program.   She has been attending night classes for a long time and she is finally done!

I chose school colors for the card of black and maroon.  I started with the black card base.  The background is a large hand decorated tag with white acrylic paint.  I added gold ribbon which adds a bit of celebrate to the card.  I put one piece wrapped around the tag and the other coming down from the top of the card.  I flagged the end of the shorter piece.  The grad cap was created with my Creative Memories Double Square punch. Larger in maroon and smaller in black.  I then tied a tassel from some gold cording and held in place with a black brad.   It was mounted over the top piece of gold ribbon with 3D foam tape.  The greeting is the Stampin Up Modern Label punchie in maroon with a white Word Window greeting.

Happy Graduation during COVID19.

Ready 2 Go All Occasion Stack Kit - Set 03

Angled Rectangle

I started with a grey card base.

I chose designer paper by Creative Imaginations - Art Warehouse - Danielle Johnson cut to 4.00x5.25 inches. I laid the designer paper onto the card front at an angle then adhere it.  I trimmed the excess to the card edge with scissors.

I cut the dark green Decorative Label punchie in half crosswise then trimmed the points off with scissors.  I offset these behind the greeting.   The accent was then adhered to the card front with 3D foam tape.

Split Square

I cut a 4 inch square of designer paper into 2 equal triangles by cutting top left hand corner to opposite corner with a paper cutter.   These were glued to the card front aligned to the top and the bottom.   That leaves a nice band of card color on the diagonal.

I wrapped a length of white grosgrain ribbon around the card front and knotted on the front.  Trimmed the ends on the slant.

I assembled the flower accent by putting the small flower then the large flower onto the brad.  Press the prongs apart on the back.

I added the 3D foam tape to the back of the flower accent and adhered it to the card front.

A quarter sheet insert is glued to the right hand side.

 Masculine DSP Split

I selected a kraft colored card.

I chose a designer paper by Creative Imaginations featuring stars.  I cut it to 4.00 x 5.25 then cut again at 3.5 inches.  Turned the small over and tape to 2 pieces back together.

Wrapped the designer paper layer with ginger grosgrain ribbon and taped the ends to the back.  Adhered to the card front.

Assemble the star accent and adhered to the front with 3D foam tape.

Christmas Card Challenge - June - Green/Triangle

The challenge this month is Green and Triangle.  I found a green and red designer paper by A2Z Essentials Pollinate Collection - Burst.  This paper was cut into triangles measuring 5 tall x 2 inches wide.

I chose a hunter green card.  I added an light green embossed layer.  It was embossed with the Starry Night Background Sizzix Tim Holtz Alterations Embossing Folder.

I added a red sequin star at the top of the tree and 3 gold sequins spread around the background.  I added 3 wraps of red cotton fiber which is knotted on the front.

The triangle tree is mounted to the card front with 3D foam tape over the red fiber.

I added a coordinating Stampin Up Word Window greeting in the bottom right hand corner.

R2Go Christmas Kit - Peace On Earth

I chose a pea green card of textured card stock.

I selected a 12x12 designer paper by Imaginisce - Cottage Christmas - Winter Woodlands.  The piece is cut 3.5 inches tall x 4 inches wide.

The greeting strip is printed in brown on celery card stock.  I printed 7 onto a quarter sheet of card stock which makes it .75" T x 4.25" W.

I chose a warm blue card stock for the die cut.  I cut the large greeting word with the Sizzix Originals Die Peace Phrase #2.

The DSP is adhered to the bottom half of the card. The strip is adhered to the top of the designer paper piece.  I placed 3 pieces of narrow 3D foam tape to the back of the die cut.  It was then adhered above the greeting strip.

Simple Sentiment - DSP Version

I've been wanting to expand my options for my line of Simple Sentiments cards.  I designed the photo one last year.  With a bit of brain storming when my sister was out last week we came up with this design.

This one features designer paper on a coordinating card.

The greeting is ripped top and bottom and adhered to the card front with 3D foam tape.   It can be on white or ivory card stock.

It has a quarter sheet insert of bond paper.

This is a versatile design that works for a wide or tall card.

I may expand the width of my greeting by using a different font.  I do have quite a bit of room in either layout.

Looking forward to producing a few of these for my card box or others.

Wedding Anniversary

I made this card for my Mom & Dad who will celebrate their 62nd wedding anniversary this week.

I chose a Stampin Up Pool Party card.  I printed the greeting from Teeny Tiny Wishes onto the card front in Lost Lagoon.  I cut the largest of the Spellbinder Heart Circles Nestabilities from a piece of shiny card stock in a similar color as Pool Party.  I pulled a piece of narrow white satin ribbon through the holes around the circle.  I cut a smooth circle with a Spellbinders Smooth Circles Nestabilities which measured 3" in diameter from no shed silver glitter.  This was adhered in the centre of the heart circle.  I punched two SU Sweetheart punchies from the same card stock. These were adhered offset from each other in the centre of the silver circle.  The whole accent was adhered to the card front with 3D foam tape.

Card Exchange Group Cards

I started with the ink background. This is done with by placing a variety of ink onto an acrylic plate and pressing a piece of card stock onto it to capture the ink. The ink can be stamp pad re-inkers, liquid acrylic, or any other dye based ink. I stamped the SU Print Pattern Background stamp onto it with Ballet Blue craft ink in hopes to be able to emboss it.  The powder did not stick well. I chose a Stampin Up Apricot Appeal card which coordinated well.  I cut a set of flowers with the Flower Fair Thinlit set. The large flower is Marina Mist as I did not have Ballet Blue which was embossed with the Polka Dot Folder, then the medium is a repeat of Apricot Appeal, then the center is Starfruit card stock. The leaves were cut from Starfruit as well. The greeting is stamped with the Little Birthday Cheer Stamp set with Kiwi Kiss ink onto Apricot Appeal and punched with the Modern Label punch. It is adhered to the card front with 3D foam tape.

I chose my ink background to coordinate with Stampin Up Apricot Appeal again. This time I stamped the Triple Treat Flower Stamp Set onto the vellum with Garden Green craft ink and clear embossed it.  The greeting from the Sweet Essentials Stamp set is handled the same way.  I stamped the flower again on Apricot Appeal and punched it out with the Five Petal punch.  It is adhered over the vellum flower with 3D foam tape.  I ripped the edges of the vellum with a deckle edge ruler but it was not as effective as I had hoped.  The vellum ends are folded to the inside of the card and taped down.
These cards are headed to the girls in my Card Exchange Group.

Card Club - March - Peacock Feathers

The card features a nice piece of decorative paper with peacock feathers. I cut a Stampin Up Top Note from this paper then another from gold paper. The gold one was cut in half across then I trimmed the points on the left and right.  These halves are then adhered offset to the top and bottom of the top note.  I repeated the turquoise color when I wrapped a piece of turquoise organza ribbon on the left hand side and taped the ends to the back.  This layer was adhered to the front of an orange card which coordinates with the colors in the paper.  I added a turquoise greeting color printed the punched with the Stampin Up Modern Label punch.  This was adhered to the card front with 3D foam tape.

Ready2Go Card Kits - Festive Flurry Snowflake

I started with the Stampin Up Festive Flurry Ornament Kit.  I chose 4 of the 6 elements in the kit to make a set of card kits.  I printed a narrow border in the same color on the Soft Sky card front in order to ground the snowflake.  I adhered the largest Crumb Cake snowflake then the super sparkly glitter snowflake then the smallest Soft Sky snowflake which is mounted with 3D foam tape.  I cut the Crumb Cake circles that came with kit in half and it was mounted in the center of the card aligned with the bottom edge.  I printed greetings in Crumb Cake and cut them with the largest of the Bitty Banner Framelits and adhered it over the half circle. The greeting is from the Come to Bethlehem stamp set.

Card - Simple Butterflies

I was out shopping on National Scrapbooking Day where many stores were having specials.  I found the Stitched Square Frames by Die-namics designed by My Favorite Things. I've admired these for quite a while and they were on sale so I said Sold!

I printed a square background of my design in blue and the sentiment in the same color.  I cut the largest frame of the set of three from heavy white card stock.  I mounted it with 3D foam tape.  The butterflies were cut from alcohol ink backgrounds I made a while ago. The dies are the Sizzix Winged Beauties thinlits. They were mounted within the inside of the frame with 3D foam tape.

Card Club - Oct - Butterfly

Today is card club and I have the luxury of being on vacation so I have just finished up the kits with plenty of time.

I have used one of the designer papers for the SLAB IV that many of us purchased years ago.  I have been waiting for a designer to work with this paper and this was it.  I started with an olive green card.  The acetate satin ribbon was a donation from one of the girls from card club a while back. It worked well in this design.  I cut 2 lengths, placed it on the designer paper layer, wrapped the ends over the top and bottom and taped the ends to the back.  This layer was glued to the card front.  I then assembled the accent.  I adhered the layers in this order. A 2" square of pink card stock, then a Stampin Up Deco Framelit aligning the corners, a large 2" oval punchie of the same designer paper and a pink butterfly punched with the Martha Stewart Large Butterfly.  This accent was attached to the card front over the ribbon with 3D foam tape.  The kits for class contain a variety of card colors including green, blue green and purple.

2BGreen - Recycled Cards - 4

Another set of 2BGreen cards made from recycling/reusing elements from cards received from others.  This is a gift for a friend with a birthday.  The card on the left I trimmed then added a Stampin Up Decorative Label punchie from the same card so it matches perfectly. Added a Word Window greeting.

The one to the right is a great image of a tea cup.  I just brushed it's edges with an ink pad and left it blank to be used for any occasion.

Roses are always a favorite.  The dark accents are gold so I punched a SU Decorative Label punchie in gold and added a word window greeting. Mounted to a pink card.

The card front was trimmed to leave a small border and adhered to a golden yellow card.  I added a white and then golden yellow silk flower in the top right hand corner held in place with a tiny black brad.
This great watercolored violets image was trimmed and layered onto a purple card.  I created a band with the same card stock then added an oval greeting mounted with 3D foam tape.

Christmas Stack - Gold Tree

I chose a red card stock for the green woven Christmas ribbon. Having placed the ribbon left of center vertical on the card I taped both ends to the inside of the card.  I opened the card flat. The tree was cut from gold card stock with the Sizzix Original Christmas Tree 2 die. I then placed the tree over the ribbon and using a push pin I made the 3 holes for the red star sequins. I placed one sequin on a tiny gold brad then put the prongs of the brad through the hole I just made and spread the prongs apart on the inside of the card. I repeated this for the other 2 stars. The color printed greeting was punched with the SU word window. Then it was glued to the gold SU Modern Label punchie. This was then adhered to the card front in the top right hand corner with 3D foam tape.

Card Club - March - Spring Butterflies

I created this card with my large greeting which I designed a while back.  I color printed the greeting in a color to match the card.  This layer was adhered to the card front.  I then added the 3 elements with 3D foam tape.  These were glitter accents purchased several years ago at Easter time.
The greetings ranged from birthday, Easter and Mother's Day.

R2G Card Kit - Easter Felt Bunny

I made one kit of these, they are so cute.

I selected a purple card and mounted a piece of Designer paper onto it, leaving a small border.  I punched a Stampin Up Modern Label punchie in the same color and then added a color printed greeting punched with the SU Word Window. This assembled greeting is then adhered to the card front with 3D foam tape.
The felt bunny is held in place with 3 tiny white brads strategically placed on his body.  Use a push pin to create the holes before inserting the brad.

R2G Card Kit - Scallop Oval - Joy to the World

Another kit for my upcoming class. These are leftover from this class.

I chose a oval greeting from Graphics Fairy which was all ready red. There were several color choices.  I printed those on white card stock and cut them out with one of the Spell Binder smooth oval nestabilities.  I glued that to the large scallop oval.  I glued the snowflake designer paper background to the moss green card.  I added 3D foam tape behind the scallop oval and mounted it to the card front.  Just a nice quick easy card.

R2G Card Kit - Split Top Note - Blue Green

Another couple kits for my April class.
I have coordinated Stampin Up! Tempting Turquoise and Green Galore sides of the Rainbow Sherbert DSP into this kit.  I cut both colors at the same time with the SU Top Note die and then split them down the right hand side.  These were switched then reassembled and taped together on the back.  It was then adhered to the card front.  The SU Modern Label punchie coordinates with the card color and the greeting with the other.  I punched out a SU Five Petal punchie in Whisper White and then embossed it with the SU Vintage Wallpaper folder.  I glued that over the join between the papers and the greeting is glued to the Modern Label then it is adhered to the card front with 3D foam tape.

Gift Card Holder - Black & White Hearts

This is a wedding gift card holder.  I started with a piece of 5.5" x 12" piece of card stock.  I scored it at 3.5", 6", then 8.5" from each end.  I placed the 2.5" mountain fold in the center which fills the middle of the card.  This fold is glued together at the edges on the 3 open sides.  This will hold the gift card so put adhesive only along the outer edges. I then used the Stampin Up! word window punch to create a slit along the fold.  It takes almost 2 lengths of the punch to make the slit wide enough for a gift card which is usually 3.5" wide.  I used the SU! Tab punch to create the part circle dip below the slit.  This will allow the recipient to easily pull out the gift card.  I placed 2 pieces of white bond measuring 5.25"x 2.87" on the front flap and back flap which give the giver a place to write their sentiments to the one receiving the gift.  I used the SU! Slot punch to create the holes in the centre edge where the ribbon holding the holder closed is slipped through and knotted.  A knot is better than a bow because I find most people will avoid a bow every time. The finished size is 5.5" tall by 3.5" wide and fits in a standard A2 envelope.

For the front: I cut a piece of black and white DP which says Congratulations over and over.  I punched 2 hearts, one from pearl white and one from silver.  I embossed the white a bit.  I added piece of white 1/8" satin ribbon across the width of the designer paper then adhered it to the card front.  I adhered the hearts to the card with 3D foam tape. I added an embossed SU! Modern label punchie in the pearl white also raised with 3D foam tape. I cut 3 lengths of satin ribbon - silver, white and black with silver edges, pulled them through both slots and knotted them.

Card - Purple Poinsettia

I'm working on filling a few holes in my inventory for my next sale.  Music related Christmas cards was one such space.  I started with the lime green musical paper.  I cut it with the Tim Holtz Cameo Frame Bigz die.  I layered it onto purple card stock knowing I had similar colored poinsettias. I added velvety poinsettias in a grape color, with a Prima silver flower in the centre all held in place with a crystal brad in a purple color.  I punched a Stampin Up Modern Label punchie with a greeting color printed and punched with the SU Word Window.  The greeting is 3D foam taped to the card front.
