Father's Day Card

These supplies are from an old card kit.

The card base is Soft Suede with a rectangular piece of teal designer paper.  It was adhered on an angle and then it was trimmed to the card edge.

I added some leaves cut with the Tim Holtz Tattered Leaves die.  Two in Soft Suede and one gold one.

I added a Stampin Up Decorative Label greeting with color printed words.  I used SU chalks to softly color the greeting in the right colors.  I punched a Soft Suede label which I cut in half and off set behind the greeting.

A card to let my Dad know how much I appreciate him.  I am so glad he is still here with us.

Card - Angled Rectangle

This was the second set of card supplies which lay in a box for a year after COVID cancelled my classes at Compassion House.

A warm Soft Suede A2 card base with a piece of designer paper adhered on an angle and then trimmed to the card edge with scissors.

I created the accent with 3 leaf die cuts made with Tim Holtz Tattered Leaves die.  I adhered them to each as an accent then mounted them to the card front with 3D foam tape.

A taupe card base with hexagonal pattern on the angled rectangle designer paper.

I added a Tim Holtz Mover Shaper Vintage Alarm Clock die cut from gold glitter card stock.

I decided to send the rest of the unmade card kits to Compassion House with a couple of samples so the ladies can make them up during their free time.

I don't anticipate being able to teach classes for a long while yet but I will put together more kits and drop them off.

Father`s Day Card

Update: I got the date of Father's wrong. It is on June 21st.

I used a sample from one of my card kits I made early this month.  I had to add a tree because Dad was a carpenter.

This is the Angled Rectangle layout.

I cut a tree with the Hampton Arts stamp and die set.  I cut one in green and one in grey for a highlight behind.

Adhered with 3D foam tape.  Greeting with offset is a Decorative Label punch from Stampin Up.

I am sure it arrived on time.

I created a collage of tools for Father's Day.  I used a wood grain piece of designer paper as the background.

My Dad was a carpenter in his younger days so I associate wood with him.  I have a hand saw that means my needs, a pink hammer replaced the heavy one Dad gave me when I left home,  the green multi bit screwdriver that I have had had since I was in my 20's and other things from my tools drawer.

I like to manage as much around my place as I can so I have acquired the tools to get the basics done.

I appreciate my Dad very much and was not able to spend the day with him due to COVID19. I called him and had a visit.

Ready 2 Go All Occasion Stack Kit - Set 04

Angled Rectangle

I started with a ginger card base.

I chose designer paper by Graphics 45 - Communique Collection - On the Dot cut to 4.00x5.25 inches. I laid the designer paper onto the card front at an angle then adhere it.  I trimmed the excess to the card edge with scissors.

I cut the dark brown Decorative Label punchie in half crosswise then trimmed the points off with scissors.  I offset these behind the greeting.   The accent was then adhered to the card front with 3D foam tape.
Split Square

I cut a 4 inch square of designer paper into 2 equal triangles by cutting top left hand corner to opposite corner with a paper cutter.   These were glued to the card front aligned to the top and the bottom.   That leaves a nice band of card color on the diagonal.

I wrapped a length of white grosgrain ribbon around the card front and knotted on the front.  Trimmed the ends on the slant.

I assembled the flower accent by putting the small flower then the large flower onto the brad.  Press the prongs apart on the back.

I added the 3D foam tape to the back of the flower accent and adhered it to the card front.

A quarter sheet insert is glued to the right hand side.

 Masculine DSP Split

I selected a deep red brown colored card.

I chose designer paper by Graphics 45 - Communique Collection - On the Dot.  I cut it to 4.00 x 5.25 inches then cut again at 3.5 inches.  Turned the small over and tape to 2 pieces back together.

Wrapped the designer paper layer with brown grosgrain ribbon and taped the ends to the back.  Adhered to the card front.

Assemble the leaf accent and adhered to the front with 3D foam tape.

2020 Cardmaking - CH - Class 2

I chose the Angled Rectangle as my layout for my card making session at Compassion House tonight.

The designer paper is cut to 4.00 x 5.25 inches. I layed it on the front of an olive card till I was happy with the layout. I adhered it then trimmed it to the edges of the card.

I used one of the triangles cut from the edges as an accent along with a white silk flower, an aqua handmade paper one and a white sequin all held in place with a tiny blue brad.

I have built in a lot of variety in the kits for this class so not any of the cards are the same.

This is a versatile layout as it works tall or wide.

I chose a teal card for this designer paper. This one has a greeting in the form of a Stampin Up Modern Label greeting in the top right hand corner.  It is adhered with 3D foam tape.

The accent is a dark teal circle with a yellow star die cut on top.  It repeats the pattern in the designer paper. It is also mounted with 3D foam tape.

The inserts in on the inside are blank.

This one started with a brown card to work with the scratch pattern in the designer paper by Bo Bunny - Back to Backs - Gift of Love

I added a Modern Label greeting in the bottom left hand corner.

A Tim Holtz Old Jalopy die cut in the top right hand corner.

Makes a great card for the guys in our lives!

Sympathy Cards

I made a few cards for my cousins whose Dad passed away in December.  The Celebration of Life service is today.

This is a left over kit from Tuesday's class.  A DSP Split.  The designer paper was split and reassembled by flipping the smaller top piece.  I added a taupe grosgrain ribbon over the join.  It was adhered to a kraft card base.

I added a white silk flower, an aqua flower, a white sequin all held in place with a light blue tiny brad.

The greeting is a Stampin Up Modern Label in kraft with a Word Window sentiment layered and adhered to the card front with 3D foam tape.

The card on the right features a sunflower cut with a Cuttlebug die and a 1" circle of brown in the center.

I drew the stem and leaf with a couple of green markers.  I added some yellow to the deckle edge with marker.

The greeting is a Stampin Up Modern Label in garden green with a Word Window sentiment layered and adhered to the card front with 3D foam tape.

The next couple of cards were discovered during my de-cluttering. They were many years ago and stored in cellophane were still in great shape.

The flowers were stamped with a Magenta stamp and watercolored.  I added a Stampin Up Word Window sentiment mounted with 3D foam tape. The edges of the white layer were ripped then mounted to a small sheet of my own handmade paper.

One with blue tones and the other with purple tones.

On the left, another card featuring a small handmade paper sheet in white onto which I hand painted a blue daisy. I mounted it to a brilliant blue  card base .

I added a Stampin Up Modern Label in bright green with a Word Window sentiment mounted with 3D foam tape.

I loved making these type of cards.

This is design I call Angled Rectangle.  I angled a piece of designer paper onto the green card front, adhered it and trimmed it to the card edge.

I used a trimmed piece, turned it over and adhered it aligned the long edge.  I added a white silk flower, an aqua flower and a white sequin held in place with a tiny blue brad.

I added a Stampin Up Modern Label greeting in the bottom right hand corner adhered with 3D foam tape.

It is a versatile design as it will do wide/landscape or tall/portrait orientation.

The one on the left has a 1.25 inch yellow circle with a navy Sizzix Winged Beauties butterfly in navy.

I added a Stampin Up Modern Label sentiment with an offset navy layer mounted with 3D foam tape.
