Inktober 2024 - 08 Desert

Inktober 2024 Challenge

08 Desert

Black Marker & Watercolor

A landscape for today in the form of a desert.

A tall cactus is great for the desert.  A few rises in elevation. To top it off a little bird sitting on the top.

Macro Monday2

I was on a visit to the Conservatory this afternoon.  It was gorgeous out but not too many flowers out there just yet.

Foxglove in it's purple garb.  I love the little hairs visible on the inside of it's bell blossom.

This is an orange orchid.  I should have taken a pic of it's name but didn't and could not find anything on line to help me out.

This tiny rose bud was just the right size.  My focus is not a tight as I would have liked but it's very cute. Very classic look.

This was a tiny cactus in a terra cotta pot near the gift shop.  It was not taller than 2 inches.  I loved the star like thorns.  They did not appear very dangerous but maybe it's because they are babies yet.

The red berry photo turned out quite nice.  I love the shape of the leaves and the fact that the 2 leaves and the berry form a nice triangle.

Friday's Hunt 10

I'm joining Friday's Hunt hosted by Terese at Eden Hills. The prompts are Starts with J, Favorite and A Cuppa.

Starts with "J". Its a Jug. I took a picture of my jug of water.  To make sure I drink enough water every day I fill this jug and leave it on the counter.  Hopefully by the end of the day it's empty and I have had my 8 glasses of H20 for the day. It does not always work out.

This is my favorite shot of the week. At my visit to the Conservatory I took this shot of the Prickly Pear Cactus with it's purple fruit which are filled with seeds. The leaves and fruit are edible once the spines are removed. Leaf pads are eaten as a vegetable. Fruit are eaten raw and used to make juice, jelly and candy.  I was excited to see the new green shoot growing which means spring has to be around the corner.

This is this morning's cuppa of tea. It's Rooibos (Red) Chai tea with some honey and cream.  I'm having it in a stoneware mug featuring blue with painted organics below the border.  This was a gift from a friend.

Photo - Macro of a Water Drop

I visited the Muttart Conservatory to get a macro photo for the challenge at Personal Photo Challenge. I have selected a few pictures for this challenge.

They has just recently watered the plants and many leaves had water drops on them.  I got in close and got several of them in this picture

I took this photo of a center of a cactus. It looks so much like a rose which is very pretty.

I took this photo several years ago.  I found this tiny lady bug on the green and silver leaf.
