Card Exchange - Jan - Silver Snowflakes

Some snow flake cards for January exchange.

I started with Not Quite Navy card base.

I added a blue snowflake designer paper which coordinated well but I purchased from Michaels years ago.  Cut it down to 4.00 x 5.25 inches.

I pulled out some old Satin Stitched Ribbon in the color Midnight Muse which was an in color at the time.  Works well with the warm dark blue. Wrapped around the designer paper and taped the ends to the back.

I created the accent with a silver fabric snowflake from the dollar store, then a white plastic snowflake sequin held together with a warm navy star tiny brad. Pushed through the DSP.

The whole layer was adhered to the card front with double sided tape.

The card is in the tall or portrait orientation and the next is in the wide or landscape orientation.

This card is identical to the first one except the orientation is changed.

I added a quarter sheet white insert to the inside and a white A2 card.

These will be out to my partners very soon.

Ready 2 Go Christmas Card Kit - Set 10

Working on card kits for my stack card class on November 4th.

I started with a red card in the landscape orientation.

I added a piece of red plaid metallic paper which was cut to 4.00 x 5.25 inches and adhered to the front

I added the Christmas green tree brad to the gold foil NOEL label cut with the Stampin Up Apothecary Framelits. I made a hole with a push pin, inserted the brad and pressed the prongs apart at the back. I added 2 pieces of 3D foam tape and adhered it to the card front.

The gold fabric snowflake was adhered in the top left hand corner with a Bling Zot.

I started with a red card in the portrait orientation.

I cut a layer of green card stock to 4.00 x 5.25 inches.  I added a length of red cotton ribbon aligned left of center and taped the ends to the back. The layer was then adhered to the card front.

The musical holly accent square as adhered to the card front over the ribbon with 4 pieces of 3D foam tape.

I added a greeting in the bottom right hand corner.  It was color printed and punched out with the Stampin Up Modern Label punch.

It was adhered to the card front with 3D foam tape.

CAVA Gallery - French Cards

I am dropping off cards to the gallery again today in preparation for the Miniature Show which starts on Friday, December 1st.

Here's a card that I used some of the pieces from the card club card but included alcohol ink background instead of designer paper.

I chose an aqua card in 4.25x 11 with top fold which highlighted another color in the snowflake accent.

I added the same white grosgrain ribbon.

I adhered the greeting punched with the Stampin Up Modern Label punch.

I chose a warm taupe card and added a bright magenta sky decorative paper.

I cut a large star from non shed gold glitter paper and placed it in the top half of the card.

I cut the Bethlehem with the Taylored Expressions Bethlehem Border thin lit from the same gold glitter card stock.

I added a warm sand dune in the front with was created with Tim Holtz Antique Linen Distress Stain on white card stock which was ripped.  You can see that the ripped edge is a little darker because it absorbed better there.

Another card club kit into which I added some acrylic paint paper to which added some snow with pearl paint.  It was spattered with a old toothbrush rubbed on a straight edge. It was adhered to a deep red card base.

I ripped a white snow bank and adhered it even with the card bottom edge.

I added a deep red felt tree held in place with 3 tiny gold brads which look like ornaments.  A gold star sequin is placed at the top of the tree.
I chose a warm purple card base onto which I adhered a piece of bright purple paste paper.

I added a ripped snow bank of white card stock aligned to the bottom of the card.

The silver foil reindeer was adhered above the snowbank with 3D foam tape.  It looks black due to scanning.

The greeting was color printed in Smoky Slate and punched with the Stampin Up Modern Label punch.  I punched one from the paste paper and offset it behind the greeting.  This was adhered to the card front with 3D foam tape.

I selected an aqua card base in 4.25x11 with a top fold.  I added a piece of alcohol ink background paper with blues and purples.

I added a metallic silver ribbon across the top third of the card and tied a square knot.

I created a snowflake accent with a deep blue, silver and silver fabric snowflakes layered and held together with a tiny shiny silver star brad.  It was adhered to the card front with 3D foam tape.

A french greeting was added in the top right hand corner in the form of a Stampin Up Modern Label Punchie.

Thank You Cards

I made thank you cards for the ladies who made it possible for me to have this opportunity to facilitate this card making session.

I started with a red foil flower cut with the same set as used in the large cards - Sizzix Flower #2 combo die and embossing folder.

I mounted my flower onto a pea green card base.  I added the gold fabric snowflake in the center and held these in place with a tiny gold star brad.

The greeting was color printed on vellum and embossed with gold powder.  The edges were ripped top and bottom and it is held in place with the same gold star brads.

This card is using the more traditional colors of a deep green card base with the same red foil poinsettia flower.

The brads are mini brads in shiny gold.

Same thank you on vellum embossed with gold.

I chose the star for this one and cut it from non shed gold glitter card stock and embossed as in previous postings.

It is held in place with a royal blue star sequin and a tiny gold star brad.

The greeting has only the top ripped and the bottom straight edge was aligned with the bottom of the card.  Gold embossed vellum.

I really appreciated this opportunity exposed some folks to card making and allow them time to spend time together keeping their hands busy.

Christmas Card - Red Velvet Poinsettia

I treated this flower die cut as a poinsettia.  This is the Sizzix - Bigz Die and Embossing Folder - Flower#2 combo.  The flower was cut from gorgeous red velvet paper from Recollections at Michaels then embossed.  I added a gold fabric snowflake in the center which is all held together with a mini brad in shiny gold.  I used a 1/16th inch punch to make adding the brad real easy.

I chose a white card to go with the white line in the designer paper by Bazzill Basic Paper - Holiday Style - Stitched Green.  It was cut 5 x 8 inches to leave a good border of the card color showing.

The large banner greeting was created with color printing the words in coordinating colors in the card.  It was trimmed to 1.5 inches tall the then both ends were flagged with the Stampin Up Banner Triple punch.  Works very well. It was adhered with double sided tape.

The poinsettia was adhered to the card front with 3D foam tape.

The insert was a half sheet with a coordinating sentiment.

Christmas Card - Gold Ornaments

I started with a 4 inch square die cut featuring gold Christmas ornaments.  The colors are grey blues, vanilla and gold.

I chose a half inch organza ribbon in gold and vanilla and a blue grey card.

I punched slots in the square 2 at the top and one at the bottom.  I threaded the ribbon through the top bottom behind back to the front at the bottom up the back on the inside of the card, back to the front down into the top slot and tied the ribbon in a square knot.  The ends were trimmed with scissors.

I added a fabric vanilla snowflake in the top right hand corner with a Zot.
