Compassion House - Thank You Cards
I put together card kits to make thank you cards for Compassion House.
Quite a few are Stampin Up kits.
Quite a few are Stampin Up kits. 2019 Cardmaking - CH - Class 6
I have decided to stick to one layout which allows one to make a wide variety of cards. Because I never know how many ladies will show up it makes it hard to plan the number of card kits I need. This way I can just add card kits to my box at any time and be ready for the class. The remaining kits will just go to the next class. The ladies attending turns over regularly as they finish their treatment and others take their place.
These kits are based on the DSP Split layout where the designer paper
layer is cut to 5.25x4 inches then cut again at 3.5 inches. One of the
pieces is turned over and the pieces are taped together on the back. A
ribbon is laid across the join and the ends are taped to the back of the
DSP layer. This layer is then adhered to the card front. This is a
versatile layout as you can see it can work tall or wide with the narrow
piece on the left or right. With alternating the combo on the double
sided paper each card can be different.
The Stampin Up Artisan Label was used on this set. The greeting was printed on white card with Kiwi Kiss and Early Espresso and punched with the coordinating punch.
The designer paper used on the card shown is by BoBunny - Little Miss - Little Miss Dorothy. The other I selected is Basic Grey - True Love - Giddy.
The grosgrain ribbon is pink.
The greeting is adhered over the ribbon with 3D foam tape.
I chose this set of cards to have no greeting which allows it to be used for any occasion. The designer paper for this set is by Simple Stories - Snap Color Vibe - Dot/Stripe in Green and Yellow.
The ribbon is white grosgrain ribbon.
The textured card bases coordinate with the color of the DSP in green and mustard.
It label was cut with one of the Stampin Up Apothecary Framelits.
The accent has a white silk flower in the center held in place with a coordinating mini brad. The 2 white buttons on either side are held in place with Bling Zots.
It is adhered to the card front over the ribbon with 3D foam tape pieces.
This is supplies from last month's class which I have converted into the DSP split style card kit.
I chose Stampin Up Print Pattern in Garden Green with the Early Espresso card stock. Some kits have the Garden Green card base.
I added a length of white grosgrain ribbon for across the split.
The star accent was assembled by layering all three and adding the tiny star brad in the center. This was adhered over the ribbon with 3D foam tape.
I create the greetings in Early Espresso with the Teeny Tiny Wishes set and punched them with the Decorative Label Punch. I cut the label in half along the points. It is adhered aligned along the bottom of the card.

2019 Cardmaking - CH - Class 5
These
make great cards for guys.DSP - SU Just Add Cake DSP custom cut with Cricut The label die cut is adhered in the top half of the card.
Card stock - Stampin Up Early Expresso & Wild Wasabi
Stars - Sizzix Stars and Star#2 cut in EE and WW with tiny star brad. The star accent is layered as shown then a hole is made in the centre with a push pin and the tiny star brad is put through. This accent is adhered to the center of the DSP diecut with 3D foam tape.
Greetings - Early Espresso ink on Whisper White Decorative Label with a HB Stamp The greeting is placed as desired on the bottom of the card and then the excess is trimmed off with scissors.
DSP - I
started with the Stampin Up Prestwick Designer Paper which features
Night of Navy, Basic Grey and Garden Green. Cardstock - I chose NofN and BG cards and 2 of the sheets from the DSP set.
Greetings - I chose the HB greeting from the Four Square Stamp Set stamped in NofN ink in WW. I currently do not have a 1.25" punch so I had to carefully cut them with the paper cutter. I layered it on a 1 3/8 inch punchie of Garden Green.
I placed the striped paper on the portrait of NofN and the plaid on the BG landscape card. I added a .5 inch strip of Whisper White then added the trio of squares. I swapped the DSP for the additional squares so the plaid on the stripes and the other way around. All squares got a GG layer. The HB square is adhered with 3D foam tape to emphasize it.
Unfortunately I was not able to get into the building today so the ladies did not get to make cards.

Cardmaking - CH - Class 5
Style 2 - Designer Paper Split. I bought these 12x12 glitter papers together but don`t have a designer or manufacturer.
This is very versatile paper in that it has lots of colors. The bottom piece is cut 4 inches wide by 3.5 inches tall. The top piece is cut 4 inches wide and 1.75 tall. These are taped together on the back.
I added a kraft ribbon over the join which was taped to the back. This layer was then adhered to the front of a nice pink card.
The greeting was printed with colors from the designer paper. It was punched with the 2 inch oval and adhered to the card front with 3D foam tape.
I created kits with kraft card and pink ribbon and green card with red ribbon.
Style 3 - Square - The ornament element is 3.25 inches square. It was adhered to a 3.5 inch red layer which coordinated well with the ornament color. Creating a hole with a push pin, I added a clear crystal brad in the center and pressed the prongs apart on the back.
I chose a deep burgundy card which matched well with the background color on the accent. I glued a piece of gold moire paper to the card front leaving a small border.
I wrapped a piece of gold ribbon around the card front and taped the ends to meet under the accent layer.
The accent layer was then adhered over the ribbon with 3D foam tape aligned with even borders top, left and bottom.
Style 8 - This card was designed with Stampin Up elements. I chose a Garden Green card base.
The diagonal stripe designer paper is from the Be of Good Cheer DSP set. It was cut to leave a small border of card color.
I cut a 6 inch length of Cherry Cobbler Tulle and wrapped it around the DSP in the bottom third of the layer and taped the ends to the back.
The greeting was created with ivory metallic card stock cut with one of the SU Apothecary Framelits. It is attached to the card front over the tulle with 2 tiny green brads on the bumps on the right and left sides. The greeting was color printed and punched with the SU Word Window and mounted to the label with 3D foam tape.
The designer paper layer was then adhered to the card front.
The felt wreath is from the Stampin Up Stitched Felt Winter Wishes Embellishment Set. I added a Cherry Cobbler bow made from thread which is held in place with a Bling Zot. The wreath was attached above the tulle with Scotch Quick Dry Adhesive.

Card for the Engaged Couple
This is the card I for the engaged couple.
A card base in Pretty in Pink smooth finish with a full layer of the Love Words designer paper which features Rose Red and Pretty in Pink. It was cut to leave a small border of card color.
I added a strip with the words - A happy heart across the top third which was adhesive. Then I chose 3 little hearts in Pretty in Pink, Chocolate Chip and Regal Rose to create a cluster on the left hand side.
The cards were all packaged up in a clear 6x6 inch box with a generous amount of white tissue paper.
I wish them years of happiness.

Tea for Two
I started with the sentiment which I had printed and embossed when I made my other tea card.
I chose to make it a Stampin Up card so I decided on Night of Navy, Old Olive as a color scheme. The sentiment is printed in Old Olive and is from the Tea Shoppe Stamp Set. It was clear embossed on the vellum.
I created a piece of background paper with the Tim Holtz Distress Stain - Crushed Olive mostly and a bit of Mustard Seed.
I cut a piece of Kiwi Kiss card stock into a large banner and adhered that to the front of a Night of Navy card. Then I trimmed the back ground paper and the vellum to leave small even borders on each of those.
I printed a cup from the Tea Shoppe Stamp set on Whisper White and fussy cut around the image with scissors and an exacto knife. I adhered it above the sentiment with 3D foam tape. I then placed double sided tape behind the cup and adhered the vellum to the background paper. Now, I adhered the background layer to the Kiwi Kiss banner.
I measured the center and a point on each side which I punched out the side ones with a 1/8 inch hole punch. I cut a length of Night of Navy Tafetta Ribbon and tied it in a knot above the cup.

Watercolor Flora Card
This card is for one of my card exchange buddies.
I started with a left over from making samples for my Art Card Stack Class which is coming up soon.
I decided to watercolor this card with the Stampin Up Watercolor Wonder Crayons. I used a water brush to apply the color. I used Garden Green, Always Artichoke, Bravo Burgundy, Cherry Cobbler and Not Quite Navy. I used Not Quite Navy to add spatters to the element. It was cut to 3 7/8 inches square.
I added a length of Spring Moss grosgrain ribbon on the left hand side of the card front and taped the ends to the inside.
I stamped the greeting in Cherry Cobbler with the Itty Bitty Banner Stamp set the die cut it with the Bitty Banner Framelit set. I mounted it to the right of the ribbon with 3D foam tape.

I used a water brush to paint the color onto my card element. I applied a bit of color to a clear stamp mount with the crayon then painted from there. In my opinion, this is the best way of doing. You can You can collect the color directly from the crayon onto the brush which works okay if you want a bit more intense color. Applying the color directly with the crayon to your paper puts too much color, makes it too dark and it has very fat end for coloring.
I bought the crayons second hand and I see that I got some colors from the Rich Regals set and some from the Earth Elements set. I am very happy with the color selection. These will last me my life time.

Wedding Shower - Thank Yous & Card
I attended a wedding shower today. I made a set of 24 thank you notes for the bride to be.
Her colors were blush and navy blue so I chose those for the project.
I created the blush paper by brushing Tim Holtz Tattered Rose Distress Stain onto white pearl card stock. The sheets were left to dry over night. I was glad to see that the sheets were back to being flat in the morning.
I made the blush hearts with the Stampin Up! Sweetheart punch. I was able to get 10 from a strip of card stock 2 inches x 11 inches. I alternated the bumps to make efficient use of the paper.
The ivory cards have a gold foil greeting the center. I used the SU Modern Label digital stamp to create the label around the words. The dots are from the Lemonade Stand digital stamp set. I printed the label and the dots in Night of Navy. I adhered the hearts with double sided tape.
I made a card for the couple. I chose an ivory textured card stock for the card. I chose the label from the Everything Eleanor digital stamp set. I colored it with Night of Navy.
The sentiment is also in the same dark blue. I mounted another set of blush hearts in the center of the label. One is mounted with 3D foam tape to allow the other to easily be adhered behind it.
The shower was well attended and the gift table was overflowing with lovely things to get this couple started in their life together.

Countdown Calendar - Christmas Cheer DSP
I made another Countdown Calendar this evening as I sold a couple this afternoon.
This is a 6x8 black wood frame which is wide enough to just stand on it's own. I used Stampin Up Christmas Cheer designer paper on this side. I added snowflakes cut with the Snow Flurry die. The large in Very Vanilla, medium in warm white pearl and small in black to repeat the color in the frame. I cut 3 more small ones from Very Vanilla. I printed the sentiment in black on a Very Vanilla strip 2" by 6 inches wide. I placed the large snowflake accent near the bottom left hand corner.
This is the back side of the same paper. I used the banner from the Eventful Year - Embellishment digi set and used the colors Cherry Cobbler, Marina Mist and Always Artichoke. I printed it on vellum and clear embossed it. Again, I printed the sentiment on Very Vanilla in black letters on a strip 2 x 6 inches wide.
I used the word celebrate this time which can lend itself to other occasions like countdown to an anniversary party, a wedding, or other special occasion. This design as well is a little more mature in design.

Countdown Calendar - Christmas & Birthday
I am working on items for my sale in just over a week.
This is a countdown calendar for Christmas. It's super easy to use because you mark the number of days to Christmas with the dry erase marker. Next day just erase with the other end of marker and update the number.
It helps keep the kids excited without the sugar high of candy.
The frame accommodated another on the back side so I made one for birthdays as well so it can be used all year long. It can be used for boys or girls.
I have a couple more to make of these.
The Christmas DSP is Holiday Thyme with a Cherry Cobbler ornament and a green ribbon. The band is printed on Very Vanilla.
The Birthday DSP is from Print Poetry with Martha Stewart balloon punchies and I added strings with a black marker.
Here's one with a white frame with a blue dry erase marker.
The Birthday DSP is Sunshine & Sparkles with Pacific Point, Daffodil Delight and Old Olive balloons.
The Christmas DSP is Letters to Santa.

Another white frame.
The Birthday DSP is Moonlight with Baja Breeze, Daffodil Delight and Basic Grey balloons.
The Christmas DSP is Holiday Thyme with an Always Artichoke tree stamped with Hampton Art stamp and die set.

Ready2Go Christmas Stack Kit - Snowflake Blues
Another Christmas Stack kit. This one based on the Stampin Up Snow Flurry Bigz die. I decided to create the same layout in 3 different card colors of warm blue from dark to light: Not Quite Navy, Blue Bayou and Baja Breeze.
I cut the label with the Apothecary Label thin die in Pool Party card stock. I cut the large snowflake from the same color card stock as the card, the next one in Whisper White and added a warm blue confetti snowflake in the center. These are all held together with a tiny white brad.

The greeting layer was done on Whisper White with the greeting matching the card color. The greeting is from the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set. It was trimmed to leave a decent border and adhered to the blue card. The snowflake accent was then adhered to the greeting layer with 3D foam tape.
Please check my R2Go Stack Kits tab for availability.

Wedding Anniversary - 40th
I made this card for my sister and brother-in-law who are celebrating 40 years of marriage at the end of the month.
I started with a Stampin Up Cherry Cobbler card. I punched the 2 hearts from deep red glitter card stock. I color printed the greeting onto a piece of Whisper White which was just under 3" wide. I adhered the 2 hearts above the greeting with Zots. I ripped the bottom edge of the greeting layer. I layered it onto a piece of Basic Black and did the same to it's bottom edge. I placed 2 pieces of white twill ribbon on the diagonal to the upper right hand corner and adhered them to the card front. The first one has a small fold in it. I trimmed the ends with scissors. I then layered the heart layer onto the card front leaving a small border top and right hand side.

Congratulations Card
I made this card for a baby shower I am attending on the weekend.
I started with a Stampin Up Night of Navy card. I created the white spatter layer with a Night of Navy reinker, a drop of water and a toothbrush onto white photo paper. I cut the large scallop at the top from Old Olive card stock with the SU Sizzix Big Shot Large Scallop Edgelits Die. I wrapped a piece of Grosgrain Stitched ribbon in the NofN color. This layer was adhered aligned along the top of the card. I've placed 2 tiny white brads on either end to keep them adhered to the card front. I placed 2 lengths of Old Olive Washi Tape from the Santa & Co. Designer Series across the bottom third of the card. I stamped the greeting in NofN onto white with the congratulations one from the Perfect Punches set. It is adhered to the card front with 3D foam tape. I adhered 3 buttons in Old Olive with Zot along the right edge of the white layer.

Sail Boat in Blues
I started with a Stampin Up Sahara Sand card. I substituted Pool Party for Mint Macaron. I cut a piece of non SU shiny card stock which matches Pool Party to leave a small border. I placed a piece of Night of Navy seam binding on the diagonal on the
Pool Party layer and taped the ends to the back. I knotted a shorter
piece onto it in the top right hand corner. I adhered this layer to the Sahara Sand card.
I created the accent with a piece of Night of Navy, a piece of Chevron pattern paper in Sahara Sand from the Adventure Bound designer paper pack.
I chose the Sail Away stamp set in Night of Navy onto Sahara Sand card stock. These layers were adhere together aligned in the top left corner.
I tied some navy thread into the holes of the Pool Party button and adhered it to the bottom left hand corner with a Zot.
