Winter Wonderland Birthday card

This is a birthday card for my Dad.

I created a winter wonderland with diecut trees, a snowbank and a large greeting.  I spattered it with Maya Mist Iridescent Pearl spray.

I chose the half sheet size using 1 sheet of light blue card stock to simulate the sky.  It accomodated the large greeting better as well.

The trees were cut from a couple of pieces of green card stock.  I put the lighter one in front.  I stacked them against each other.

The large greeting was cut with the Memory Box Jumbled Happy Birthday die and the same color as the darker trees.  The snow bank was cut with the Creative Memories Decorative Trimmer from heavy card stock.  All pieces were adhered with quick dry adhesive by Scotch.

I spattered it with iridescent liquid as the spray no longer works.  I put a couple of drops on a plate and used an old toothbrush and an old knife to create snow on this landscape.

Cards - Special Granddaugther Christmas cards

A friend asked me to make special cards for her granddaughters from a couple of the Christmas cards she received last year.

As they were large cards to start with I chose the half sheet size card size at 5.5 x 8.5 inches.

Doggie Reindeer

I trimmed the card front. I then chose a deep espresso card base to coordinate with the large reindeer antlers which I scored at half of the full letter sized card stock and folded.

I placed holes in the recycled card to the left and right of the central image with the Stampin Up Slot punch.  I ran a red cotton ribbon through the doggie card front through slots then across the inside of the card and knotted it along the edge of the right hand edge of the image.

I created a special greeting which was printed in green on white card stock.  I created the banner with the Stampin Up Banner Triple punch by layering the greeting onto a red card stock layer leaving a small border.   The greeting is adhered to the card front with 3D foam tape.

Doggie Elf

I trimmed the card front a bit to have it fit on a half sheet card.  You can see the iridescent glitter in the top left corner so I wanted to work with that.

I chose a kelly green card which I scored at the half to give me a 5.5 x 8.5 inch card.

I found some wide ribbon in my collection with an iridescent strip which matched the recycled card front. I cut 5 pieces of ribbon and flagged the bottom ends.  I placed double sided tape onto the card and then placed the ribbon at different lengths across the card as shown.

I adhered the doggie card aligned the card top with 3D foam tape.  I printed the special greeting onto white card stock and created the same banner greeting as before with the banner punch.  It is attached to the card front with 4 tiny red brads in each corner.

I included white inserts with a special sentiment.

Christmas Card Challenge - Scallop Oval / Lavender

This is my card for my blog Christmas Card Challenge.  The theme for September is Scallop Oval and Lavender.   I chose a white card then layered a piece lavender designer paper cut to leave a small border.  I then cut a scallop oval from lavender card stock with Spellbinder Nestabilities die.  I placed a iridescent fabric snowflake on every other scallop with a light purple tiny brad.  I placed a large white snowflake created with a Martha Stewart snowflake punch, the layered a medium snowflake again cut with a Martha Stewart punch then an iridescent fabric snowflake all held in place with a light purple tiny brad.  I chose not to include a sentiment as the snowflake says winter very nicely.  Sometimes I have folks on my Christmas Card list which do not celebrate so a winter card works in that situation.

Christmas Card Challenge - White Circle - Doily Wreath

This card is for my blog Christmas Card Challenge for July which is White Circle.

I chose a white doily for the main element which measures 4.5 inches.  I chose to put it on an A6 white card.  I glued some white fabric snowflakes around the interior circle of the doily.  I then put a few iridescent sequins held in place with tiny white brads.

I used a greeting from my stash in a purple color and tacked it below the wreath and trimmed it to the card edges.

I placed a few more fabric snowflakes & sequin combos with a couple on the greeting and a couple in each top corners.

I wanted a subtle white on white textured card.  I really like the texture the doily provides.

I am pairing this card with a Pop Tone Black Licorice A6 black envelope which was provided by Paper Garden.

Ornament Trio - Challenge

I designed this card with the challenge at Merry Monday Christmas Card Challenge.  I was very happy to find this challenge blog as a couple of my regular challenges have shut down.

I started with the digital ornament trio which I designed.
I drew the ornaments and then  added some of my own digital paper paste backgrounds into the them.
The branches was designed from an actual pine tree branch photo.
The polka dot - snow background is another of my own elements.
The words are added digitally as well.
Once printed onto white card stock this layer was trimmed to 3.75 x 5 inches.  I then cut a layer of black card stock to repeat the color in the outline of the ornaments.  This was cut to leave a small border.  It was adhered to the card front of a warm medium green card.  I then adhered the ornament layer with 3D foam tape.
To add a bit of sparkle to the card I spattered it with Iridescent Pearl Mist by Maya Mist.  It's great to create a quick card with my own designs.

Wedding Gift Frame

I created this frame as a wedding gift.  I started with a 7" black matte metal frame of good quality.  I painted a gradient watercolor background with FW Acrylic Artist Ink in 437 Purple Lake.  I added some Dr. Ph. Martin's Irridescent Silver Calligraphy ink.  These were painted onto a piece of watercolor paper. While I was at it, I applied some of these inks to a piece of textured card stock as I anticipated hearts for this project.
Once dry, I laid out the words in coordinating colors & fonts and printed it onto the background.  It contains the bride & groom's names and the date of the wedding.  I punched a heart from the textured card stock with the Stampin Up Sweetheart punch.  I punched another heart from silver non shed glitter paper.  This was all designed to fit in the 3x3 inch square opening in the middle of the 7 inch white mat.   I mounted the purple heart with 3D foam tape and the glitter one behind it.  I placed credits on purple card stock and inserted it at the back of the frame.  The glass was cleaned on both sides, the pieces were layered and inserted into the frame.

Wedding Card - Purple Hearts

I made this card for the wedding today.

I used a piece of spatter ink background paper I made when working on the gift for this couple.  This was cut leaving a border and adhered to a coordinating purple card.
I wrapped a piece of 7/8 inch white grosgrain ribbon across the bottom third of the card.  I pulled it through a slit in the fold and brought the other end to the inside of the card and tape down the ends.
I cut the sentiment from the same purple card stock as the card with one of the Tattered Lace Vertical Sentiment thin dies.  I layered it onto a piece of non shed silver glitter card stock leaving a tiny edge.  I added 3 silver tiny brads to hold the purple to the silver.  This was adhered to the card front with 3D foam tape aligned along the left hand side.
I punched textured card stock painted with the purple and iridescent inks with the Stampin Up Sweetheart punch.  These were adhered to the card front to the right side of the greeting.
I added silver bling rhinestones along the ribbon on the right hand side.
