Card Club Kit - Set 3 - Card 4

I just loved this designer paper - WeR Memory Keepers - Wildflower - Botanical. I spent way too much time finding the right image for this card but I am happy with this owl available from Pixabay.

I printed the owl in Early Espresso onto vellum and clear embossed it.  I trimmed the vellum to 3.75 x 5.00 inches.  I tacked the vellum in place leaving a small border.

I cut a slit in the fold and ran the dark brown seam binding through and brought it around to the front.  I placed some double sided tape between the vellum and designer paper where it will be hidden by the ribbon. I knotted the ribbon and trimmed the ends.

I placed the leaf onto the ribbon and used a push pin to create a hole through the card front.  I pushed the tiny brad through a hole in the leaf, and captured it under the brad.  This works to keep the leaf and the vellum secure.

Holy Family Photo Christmas Cards

I take photos of nativity sets whenever I can. This was taken during the 2016 Christmas season.

This time I was working on supplies for a stack card kit for my class on Monday.  I printed a few extra to make some cards for the craft sale.

Here I have adjusted the orientation of the photo to accommodate my needs for the card kit.  I added a color fill background and added a greeting.

For this card with a 4x6 photo I had to reduce the space between the photo and the greeting so I trimmed the photo down to a narrow color border.  I then trimmed the greeting to the same width as the photo.  These were adhered to the card front of a heavy white card.

Left: This little nativity I have used before.

Right: I designed this card with a Mother and Child photo from Pixabay.  I`ve used this image several times.

The stack kit should be ready soon.

Card Club - January - Airplane

I wanted a male birthday card so this is what I designed.

The paper is Grandpa's Plaid from the Grandpa's Tool Shed collection made by Echo Park Paper Co.  It was cut to leave a small border on the olive card.

The red seam binding was placed across the designer paper the the ends taped to the back.

The airplane graphics is from Pixabay.  I changed the colors to coordinate with the designer paper.  I added the greeting low enough that if the card maker wants to cut it off they can. I printed it onto ivory card stock. It is mounted to the card front with 3D foam tape over the red seam binding.  I tied the short piece of binding on the right hand side of the focal element.

Farewell Card - Teal & Ice

I made this card for a couple who are taking on new responsibilities.

I used teal card stock and cut down the 12x12 to 8.5x11. I folded the card in half and adhered a piece of the designer paper by Adornit - Carolee's Creations - Cold Water Collection - Ice to the front leaving a small border.  I printed the greeting with a watercolor background from Pixabay onto a piece 4x6 photo paper.  This was mounted to the card front with a piece of matching card stock offset on the left hand side.

Change is for sure so as we transition to a reality we will see and do new things.  Adventure awaits for all of us.

Note Card & Encouragement Card Gift Sets

I made a couple of Note Card and Encouragement Card Gift sets today.

I created some new encouragement cards in the portrait orientation with some great art from Pixabay.  The hummingbird and mushroom ones are posted below.

These cards were included in these 2 gift sets along with some made with a landscape image from Maria (see image below) and some I designed a while back.

One of these will be given to a couple who is starting new roles.

This landscape was created by Maria S.  I used the image in black as well as I converted the image into sepia, artichoke, and navy.

Farewell Card

I made this card for a lady from our congregation who is moving.  We will miss her and her family.

I started with a light green parchment card stock which I folded in half.  I applied a piece of Recollections Designer paper to the front cut to leave a small border.  I cut a piece of light green card stock with a picket fence Die-namics thin die.  I cut the piece of card stock to be narrow enough as I did not want the pickets as I was going to use it as a ribbon threader.  I trimmed it to the width of the card.  I taped my orange organza ribbon to the back of the DSP then ran it through the slots in the die cut. I tied the ends in a bow and trimmed the ends.  The orange picks up the orange in the large flower which is the focal point.

I created a couple new Nifty Notes to include in a gift of cards for her in her new job.   These again feature watercolors from Pixabay.

Christmas Card Challenge - March - Purple / Wisemen

This is my card for this month's challenge.

I applied liquid acrylic color diluted with water to photo paper with a paint brush. One for yellow a large one of purple. I planned where I applied the color based on the graphic of the wisemen or kings.  The image comes from Pixabay. Once the photo paper was dry I printed the image in ink jet black on top of the color.  I trimmed the 4x6 inch photo paper to 4 x 5.25 inches. I adhered the main image to the black card. I flagged the ends of the banner with the Stampin Up Banner Triple punch. I applied the banner greeting on the card front with 3D foam tape.  I used a purple card on the right.

Christmas Card - Madonna

I created this Christmas card for the same friend who wanted a variety of cards.  I found this image on Pixabay which hosted royalty free images.

The image of Mary and baby Jesus was soft and lovely.  I printed it on the card front with a taupe border.  I added a Crumb Cake greeting from the Stampin Up Come to Bethlehem stamp set cut with the Bitty Banner Framelits.  It is adhered to the card front with 3D foam tape.

It's a lovely card.
