2026 Slow Stitching Project - Page 37 - S1 - Sand, Sea, Sky, Sun, Sailboat, Seagulls

My piece for S1 of the K3N Cloth Tales Slow Stitch Project 2026.

K chose shisha stitch which did not work for me.

I chose Sand, Sea, Sky, Sun, Sailboat and Seagulls.

I started with a cotton foundation layer and I appliqued the Sky fabric then the Sea fabric then the Sand fabric.

The seed stitch in the sand took a long time. I mixed colors of embroidery thread in cream, ginger, and Sable.

I stitched waves in the Sea. 

I added a yellow Sun in the right hand corner with corresponding Sunrays.   I then cut out a red Sailboat with white Sails. A mast from dark brown, and a small red flag at the top.   I added three white Seagulls in the Sky.
