Scor-Pal Tool - Very good investment

The Score Pal tool was a great investment! I love it! It was expensive but after preparing 200 card kits in the last seven days it was invaluable. The score is straight, smooth and consistent. It handles 12x12 paper which just adds to it's versatility. My last tool was a scoring blade on my paper cutter. A little wobbly and not always straight. The scoring grooves provide all the popular measurements like 4.25, 5.5 and a bunch more. The scallop card had two scores at it was very fast to get them both done!

I would highly recommend it to anyone who makes cards on a regular basis.

All Occasion Stack Class - Scallop

This card incorporates double sided scrapbook paper. The top of the card tucks behind the scallop which has been adhered to the bottom layer of the card. Again many different wonderful papers at Scrapbook stores these days made the options for this card endless. Wedding, birthday, baby and thinking of you cards. The ladies in class came up with several options on how to assemble these supplies. The creativity was really flowing which was really great!

All Occasion Stack Class - Lily Sticker

This is a very versatile design. The top 2/3 is embossed with the Cuttlebug Swiss Dots folder in the Big Kick machine. The greeting is printed on cardstock and cut to 1" strips. The accent is again STUP! graduated circle punched shapes with the lily sticker in the centre. Bought those at Michaels in the bridal section. With the greetings all being black on white with only the cardstock changing, it was a design easily implemented. A nice classic look that can cover many types of greetings from birthday, thank you, get well and sympathy just by selecting your cardstock appropriately.
This is a keeper!

All Occasion Card Stack - Masculine cards

We need cards to those special guys in our lives. This series of cards tended to the more masculine colors. Earth tones in blues, browns, and deep colors. The decorative paper is subtle but deep in color. A little color coordinated fiber on the brad added a bit of dimension. The greeting is printed on vellum and punched with the STU! 1.25 punch with a match cardstock circle in 1 3/8" below it. The greetings was the challenge as the circle is a bit on the small side. I brought a few extra so the ladies could have cards that they could use.

All Occasion Stack Class - Daisy with button

On this card the daisy was color printed onto the card itself. A strip of paper was ripped and then glue to the left hand side. The fiber is wonderful in it's texture and sparkle. I used a Zot to adhere the button to the centre of the flower. The color options were only limited by the color of buttons I had. I guess one could have decided to put all yellow buttons then the color options would have been greater.

All Occasion Stack Class - Acetate Daisy

I had 7 ladies attend this morning and it was just a really great class. We worked on all occasion cards and made 20 cards ready to go which should cover the summer months.
This card used textured cardstock with 1/4" gross grain ribbon slipped through a slit in the fold. The decorative paper is half of a 6 inch circle trimmed to fit the card. The acetate daisy is my own design and is held in place with a crystal brad. I worked to ensure each lady got a variety to colors.

National Scrapbooking Day

It's National Scrapbooking Day - May 3 09. It's been a year since I started scrapbooking. I've enjoyed it a lot. I have a few pages to go to complete 2007. I'm looking forward to getting more pictures printed and moving on to 2008! I hope you had a great day whether you attended an organized event, cropped with friends and family, or did something to build more memories. I spent my morning making cards!

Card Club - April - Daisy

Very simple but elegant card. I used a square punch to create the hole which limited where I could put the square. I punched the daisy from the square ensuring a perfect color match. The white square is about 2" square so the daisy was centered on it with a yellow eyelet. I have the Making Memories tool kit but we discovered the Crop-a-dile did a great job as well. The ribbon needed to be tied on before the daisy could be put in place. The easiest way to glue the daisy into the centre of the hole was to place glue on the card then line up the flower and press. Many colors and always white ribbon so that was a bonus when preparing.

Card Club - April - Prima Flower

I purchased a tin of Prima Flowers with my 40% coupon at Michaels a while ago. The card is landscape with the fold on the left. Using the Stampin Up! slit punch I created a holder of sort to contain the greeting. The brad in the flower secures the corner of the vellum greeting.
Again, many color combinations.

Card Club - April - Bookplate Greeting

This is my tall card for the month. This one allowed a lot of variety of color options because I just coordinated the greeting with the paper. The greeting was printed directly on the card. The Sizzix bookplate was cut from black card stock and placed over the greeting on the card. Color coordinated brads hold it in place.

Card Club - April - Cheeky Clips

I found these small metal clips at Dollarama a while ago and thought I should design a card using them. I created a small tri-fold card with my Sizzix card die. I decided to add an acetate greeting which was sandwiched between the 2 first pages. Being acetate it allows you to see right through. The clip keeps this small card closed on the larger card. I matched the ribbon to the clip over a ripped white accent strip. The greetings included Thanks, Happy Birthday, and Mother's Day.

Card for DAD - denim pocket

Perfect card for Dad. The pocket is a Sizzix die which I cut from denim scrapbook paper. The checkered background paper matched very well. The trick is to make sure that you only glue the edge of the pocket so that the tag can be inserted. Glue the little red DAD tag between the pocket and the decorative background. Insert the brads on each corner. The tag can be used to add a special greeting to that great guy.

Scrapbooking Day!

Another great day of great scrapbooking. This time it was with family, 2 of my sisters and my niece from out of town. Just about 14 hours of time and I finished 5 pages with breaks for potluck lunch & dinner. I'm getting to the end of 2007 photos and I'm anxious to be done!
This is a collection of flower photos for a filler page. The letters are the Fruit Smoothie sizzlets. Works really well.

Dollarama - Glitter Copper Paper

Check out this wonderful copper glitter paper. It's really nice. I managed to get 3 packages. They had a coordinating stripped in the same colors but it was metallic and not glitter. I could not resist but I'm not really sure what I will do with it. The pattern is large for card making. Maybe I'll do something in my 12x12 frame for my craft room.

Card Club - March - Tulip for Easter

This is the one card I created with the option of an Easter greeting. The tulip is my own drawing color printed directly on the card. The frame cut by Sizzix Retro Frame. I color printed the greeting then cut them out with the CM oval cutter. I understand they have swivel cutters now for this system. I should look into acquiring them. Again, versatile with many color options. I used the direct to paper technique on the white card with a bit of ink to offer a bit of dimension.

Card Club - March - Embossed

A super simple and elegant card. The embossed layer was created with a Cuttlebug embossing folder. I made 2 different designs so I could double them up in the Big Kick machine. The challenge was then to find stamp ink to match card stock. I put a pop dot under the circle greeting to add a bit of dimension to this card.

Card Club - March - Flower Trio

Here's the #9 card for this month. The flowers were cut with Cuttlebug daisy dies and the circles are 1 3/8 and 1 1/4 from StampinUp! I just got my 1 3/4 punch but have not used it yet. the leaves are a sizzix die that cuts 3 at a time. How serendipitous this that! Many color options possible with a not too busy background paper. By turning the greeting 90 degrees you can make the card tall instead of wide. Or keep the greeting off completely.

Card Club - March - Photo Turns

I decided to use scrapbooking emblishments on my cards. I found a card in one of my books that used photo turns to keep the card closed. I thought I can work with that. Again, the card kits came in several different colors. This one was is very monochromatic with a bit of accent color.

Scrapbooking Retreat - Sunflowers

I attended a Scrapbooking Retreat this past weekend. There were 2 dozen of us, some who were just starting, some who were scrap-booking digitally on their laptops and the rest of us trying to crank out a good number of pages. 26 hours of time! I managed 16 pages with a bit of journalling to do when I got home. I was very happy with that. This is the first retreat I paid to attend. The food was good and we just went home to catch a few ZZs. The make & takes included full two pages spreads and some elements. We each received a bag of goodies as well. This is one of the pages I completed. I did not complete all the pages I had prepared so I'm ahead for the next time.

Card Club - February - Sunny Card

Here's a card to brightened up the cold days of winter. The sun is a die cut. I was inspired by the greeting. I dusted off my sun Sizzix die and added the greeting in the centre. The ribbon is 1/4 inch gross grain. This card kit stayed with the color combination because I did not want to make the sun any other color than sunshine yellow. How could I? A Zot to hold the button in place.
