Card Club - Jalopy

This is the first card for Card Club today.  I cut some blue decorative paper with my Creative Memories is wavy cutter and then cut a colored layer leaving a small border.  This layer is glued to the card front on the right hand side. I cut the Jalopy with a Tim Holtz mover & shaper in black card stock.  The die cut is then mounted to the card front with 3D foam tape.  I color printed the greeting then punched it out with the Stampin Up Modern Label punch.  Then I punched another from black card stock.  The black one was cut in half lengthwise.  These halves are glued to the back of the greeting offset. This greeting is glued to the card front with 3D foam tape. I placed it horizontal over the curve of the blue piece.

I provided green, yellow, and orange solid layers in the kits I prepared for this class.

Challenge - Glitter Tree

I started with a background leftover from this class.  I cut the tree with a Sizzix Tree thick die and trimmed it to tuck in the bottom left hand corner.  I cut the snowflake from the same paper with a Marianne Snowflake thin die.  I dug through my stash of greetings and then cut this one with my Creative Memories Wavy Cutter.  I rubbed the top edge with a blue ink pad to highlight the edge against the trees in the background. The snowflake is held in place with a tiny silver brad.
I've submitted this card to Sparkles - Evergreen Tree Challenge, and  Holly Jolly - Gimme Glitter.

Challenge - Make your own background

I made this card for Sparkles - Weekly Christmas Card Challenge - Make your own background.
I created my own background on the green card with a snowflakes True Type font called Faux Snow BRK.  They were printed on the card with Certainly Celery.  I placed a snowbank on the card which was cut with my Creative Memories Wavy Cutter. I then added the sleigh sticker by Martha Stewart. The gifts stickers were separate so I applied them to the card first then the sleigh on top.  I stamped the Peace greeting with an old foam stamp set and gold embossed it.  I punched it out with the Stampin Up! Decorative Label Punch.  It is mounted to the card with 3D foam tape.

Christmas Stack Class - Winter Deer

Here's a nice peaceful card for the last set. I bought the chipboard deer during the last Christmas season.  The background paper is Little Yellow Bicycle - Winterings on the beige background.  I printed the narrow frame onto the card stock. The blue background I found here.  I colored the deer with Tim Holtz Distress Stain - Gathered Twig on the beige background and Walnut on the blue background.  The deer is  adhered to the right hand side with his feet placed very near the border. The snowflake is created with a Martha Steward snowflake punch with the same card stock as the card and held in place with a tiny white brad.  I color printed the greetings in a coordinating color and cut into a snow bank with my Creative Memories wavy cutter. It is mounted to the background being trimmed to be inside the frame.  It is adhered with 3D foam tape to accommodate the legs of the deer.

Card Club - Feb - Pick Up Truck

Here's a happy little card.  I matched the card to the color of the pick up truck. The silver background was embossed with the Cuttlebug Polka Dots folder and glued to the card front. I determined the placement of the road and glued it down and trimmed it.  The truck was then placed on the road.  I added the tree on the left and tucked it's truck behind the road. The sun was placed in the top right hand corner.
The truck and sun were cut with the Cricut and the Just Because Cards cartridge and the tree with the Paper Dolls Dress Up cartridge. These were assembled with patience and some quick dry glue.  The road was cut with my Creative Memories wavy cutter and I used a white opaque marker to make the line in the center.

Card - Felt Flowers

I made a couple of these for my card exchange group.  I started with the flower and searched to find matching cardstock.  I finally found Brilliant Blue worked well.  I cut a piece of white to card front size then put it in my Creative Memories wavy cutter.  It was then embossed with the Sizzix Diamonds folder.  I cut a leaf with a Sizzix die from green flocked ribbon. I held the flower in place with a tiny white brad. I added a small stamped circle greeting on the bottom right hand corner stamped in the same Brilliant Blue punched with the .75 inch.

Card - Accordion Card

I made this card for a couple who are leaving our office and moving to Toronto. I needed a large card for everyone to sign. I decided on an accordion card. I wanted the left side to represent Alberta so I added mountains and pine tree. The vellum in the centre represents our Muttart Conservatory in the river valley. Then along the road in the centre I created sign posts with locations long their way east; Saskatoon, Winnipeg, and Sudbury. The right hand cover represents Toronto and Ontario. The cityscape, CN Tower and the water.
I used artists canvas 6x9" for the covers. I painted the sky and the grass on with acrylic paint with a bit of a dry brush technique. I used 50lb text weight paper for the accordion which was painted in the same way. I used my Creative Memories Wavy Cutter to create the highway that runs the full length of the card from left to right. I added the white centre line with a Marvy Opaque marker. The mountains were cut by hand, the pine tree is a Sizzix die cut, and the grass was ripped and cut with decorative edge scissors. The Muttart Conservatory is 3 large glass pyramids so I decided on vellum which was scored and then I added a bit of fine black marker to add definition. I designed the road markers in Corel Draw. The cityscape was cut on the Cricut - Paper Dolls Dress Up. I placed yellow paper behind to put light in the windows. I cut the waves with the wavy cutter and chalked them to add some depth. The CN tower was a clipart image which I printed and cut close to the edge. The clouds were cut with the Cricut - Create a Critter. I made a vellum sleeve to hold and protect the card.

Card - CST Challenge #4 Turq/Rose/Wasabi/Expresso

I made this card for a color combo challenge. Turq/Rose/Wasabi /Expresso. I did have the Stampin UP! cardstock but I think I matched them quite well.
I started with a brown card, then I cut bottom edge of the turquoise with my CM wavy cutter and embossed it with the Cuttlebug Swiss Dots folder. I cut the flowers with a Cuttlebug 2" die then embossed them with the Sizzix Tropical Paisley folder. I high lighted the right and left flowers with chalk. I added a Cuttlebug outline flower in a dark pink to the centre flower. The stems and leaves were hand cut and glued down. I punched small daisy centers to balance the outline on the centre one. I put yellow brads in the centre of the flowers. I removed the shank on the bee button then adhered it to the card with small Zot.

Card - Embossed Butterflies

I started with a white card. I cut some black card stock with my CM Wavy Cutter. I glued those down.

I printed three butterflies on vellum with my color printer then embossed them with clear powder. Be careful not to apply too much heat as the vellum will warp.

I placed them on the card with a bit of clear double sided tape.

I added a bit of accent with a white gel marker.

Card - Farewell

We have a lady leaving our workplace who will be greatly missed. We had a potluck today for her to say "See you later" not goodbye. I made this large card to give everyone an opportunity to write a sentiment to her. She is an outdoors person so I decided it should have trees on it. I started with 8.5x11 Always Artichoke cardstock fold in half. I smudge the card with always several green inks with the direct to paper technique. I added some blue water cut with the Creative Memories wavy cutter and smudged it with navy ink. I added 3 triangle pine trees. Two are ivory and embossed with Cuttlebug Devine Swirl the other one is pearl cardstock. I added the setting sun behind the trees and I smudge a horizon line behind the trees. It would have been best to do that earlier. I added pearl stars in the sky. I stamped the sentiment with CTMH alphabet set in green ink.

GG - Christmas - Polar Bear

Isn't he a cute polar bear? It was cut with the Create Cricut - Joy of Season cartridge. It allows you to cut the scarf seperately in a different color. The top snowbank was cut with the CM Wavy Cutter and the bottom was just ripped. In the class today, I used a marker to add the black nose on the bottom one which really helped. I glued the snowbank then trimmed it to the bottom of the card. The bear was placed ensuring that some blue can be seen to define his legs against the snowbank. A small yellow star punchie was added to the opposite corner. One of the girls today glued him facing the opposite way and the scarf worked as well which adds to the options.
