Note Cards - Victorian Paintings

I made another gift set of  No8 note cards.  This time I used a set of images left over from a Paper Tole kit I found these at the ReUse center the other day.  When I saw them I thought their proportions would be great for these type of cards.  As you can see they were perfect.

The images were created by Anton Pieck - a Dutch artist who painted the Victorian images who lived from 1895 - 1987.  The the sheets of images have the copyright notice of 1973 The Donald Art Co. NY Printed in Holland on them and there is these three per sheet.  The name of the images are The Inspector (l), The Smoker (c) and the Ship Painter(r). I chose an olive green textured card stock in 12x12.  This layer was cut 2 7/8 x 5 inches. The cards are cut at 3 3/8 wide and then scored at 6 1/4 inches.  I added a 1/2 inch strip to the bottom of the card front, taped it on the back then added this scallop washi tape across the join and brought the ends to the inside of the card.  It finishing off the front nicely.     Again, I created a structure to house the 12 cards from left over strips of the 12x12 card stock I used for the cards.  These were scored the width of 3 5/8 centered on the 12 inches.  I used 2 - one for the bottom and another on the top.  I created a small piece of paper to stick to the top of let people know what the package contains.  I again added a label on one of the sides with my contact information.
You can refer to this post of the stash busting concept for these cards.

R2G Vintage Bee Card Kit

Another Ready 2 Go Kit. I found these vintage looking bee images decided to see what I could do with them. I cut the bee with my CM oval cutter. The black scallop was cut with SB Nestabilities die. I cut a 1/2" strip of black cardstock which was trimmed to the width of the background layer. The honeycomb background was printed on white is from http://leahhitchcockybarra.com.

I decided to offer 2 color options in this kit so some cards are yellow and some are black. You will see the design works both in landscape and portrait formats.

Card Club - Christmas - Joy

I started with the Joy sticker.  I found the Purely Pomegranate card stock matched the ornament in the sticker very well.  I selected black card stock to go with the touch of black in the stickers letters. I embossed the Cuttlebug folder in white card stock and trimmed to fit the card.  I added a piece of Purely Pomegranate double stitched gross grain ribbon across the embossed layer and taped the ends to the back.  I cut a circle of green card stock and added the sticker. Then a 1 3/8 circle of white onto a Purely Pomegranate scallop punchie. I placed 3D foam tape to the back of the scallop and glued over the ribbon.

Card - Advent Class Cards

I was asked to help out with a "Getting Ready for Christmas" class.  The instructor is spending 8 weeks helping the group prepare for Christmas spiritually as well as practically.  Each week she has a related craft.  This week it was Christmas cards and she asked me to teach the card class.  We had an hour so I kept the cards simple to ensure everyone was able to finish their 4 cards in the time allotted.
I wanted a versatile design in which I could change the colors without affecting the entire design. Also, I wanted a card in each orientation of portrait and landscape to add variety.  I selected the these images: the manger scene is by SonLight Impressions which I have owned for years.  The candles I just bought this summer is by Sunshine Designs put out by Stamp Barn.  I gold embossed the central image on white cardstock then cut it with Nestabilibities Classic Oval.  I then cut a Nestabilities Scalloped Oval in a solid colored cardstock to coordinate with the designer paper.  These were glue together, I dotted each scallop with a Galaxy white opaque marker and a fabric gold snowflake was added with a Zot.  The designer paper was trimmed to 5.25x4.00 inches and glued to a white card. The central oval was mounted to the card with 3D foam tape which easily adds dimension. I had seven different color combinations so that there was lots of variety so each person got 4 different cards.

Cmas Card Challenge - October - Natural Christmas

I decided on a wreath for my Natural Christmas theme. I started with a dark brown card. I used a Martha Stewart branch punch on several shades of green card stock to create my greenery. I cut the wreath's back layer with a Soft Suede Nestabilities scallop circle. I glued at least 18 branches around the edge of the circle making sure to keep it within the 4.25 width of the card. I then layered a smaller scallop circle over the middle covering the ends of the branches. I cut a very vanilla circle with Nestabilities die and chalked the edge while it was still in the die leaving a nice border. Then I stamped a Stampin Up! greeting on the circle in Chocolate chalk ink. I added the raffia bow above the wreath.
I made 6 of these.
Total: 82

Card - CST Challenge #14 - Sympathy Card

I created this card for this week's challenge - Sympathy card. I had just taken several photos a couple of days before and thought they would make nice sympathy cards and here's the challenge. I cropped the photo into an oval shape and printed it on heavy white paper. I cut it out and glued it to white cardstock which I trimmed with scallop scissors. I stamped the Stampendous sentiment with Always Artichoke ink on same color card. I glued the oval just above it and added a white satin ribbon bow on the right hand side through a slit in the fold.

Favor - Angel in a Tin

These are the favors I created for our Christmas dinner this year. We had 21 around the table which was very good!
I started with an ivory 2" circle. I added a gold Stampin Up! scallop punch shape then a pearl red 1 3/8" punched circle. To that I braded on a ivory angel I found in the button section at Michaels. The small glittered star came from the same package. I put the date and the year on the back.
the place holder was a gold scallop, a 1 3/8 circle in the pearl red and an ivory 1.25" with our names on them. This was held up with a clothes pin. To save, it all fits in the small round tin.

Simple Card - Flower Pot

The main element of the card is a watercolor flower pot which was cut from a sheet of gift wrap. The sheet had all these 2.5" squares of iris, tulips and violets. Those of you who follow my blog regularly know that I use gift wrap on a regular basis as I find it to be good value. I chose the card stock to highlight the colors in the pot. I cut the scalloped square with my Cricut Create machine. For the accent on the bottom right side I stamped a butterfly then punched it out with an oval punch, then punched another in the same color as the scallop square and just offset them enough to create a shadow for the oval.
