Self Closing Card - Christmas

I cut the Memory Box Birch Tree Trio from black pearl paper. I left some at the bottom attached so I could glue them all together onto the sparkly paper.

I added a pearl snowbank with I cut with my Cricut Ceramic Knife. Works very well.

I punched a moon from the same paper and placed it behind the trees then used Quick Dry Adhesive to glue the trunks of the trees.

All put onto a teal card base measuring 6x12 inches. Scored at 5.5 inches and just less than 1" for the flap.   Double sided tape on flap and generous insert.

Sparkly paper background with a silver foil star cut with the Sizzix Star #2 die.  Mounted with 3D foam tape.

A greeting with SU Modern Label punchie and a SU Word Window greeting.

Dark green card base measuring 6x12 inches. Scored at 5.5 inches and just less than 1" for the flap.   Double sided tape on flap and generous insert.

A navy card base measuring 6x12 inches. Scored at 5.5 inches and just less than 1" for the flap.

I cut the Sizzix Large Starburst with a thick die from silver matte card stock.

It was mounted on a piece of white textured decorative paper strip.

A SU Modern Label punchie in silver offset behind a white one with blue greeting. Mounted with 3D foam tape.

A background of sparkly paper.

Double sided tape on flap and generous insert.

Another Tim Holtz Winter Wonder snowman card.  Cut from white card stock.

The snowflake and the Creative Memories star punchie from pearl card stock.

A great sparkly paper background and a pearl snowbank hand cut with the ceramic knife.

This card base is green linen which measures 6x12 inches and is scored at 5.5" and just less than 1" for the flap.

A generous insert.

Self Closing Cards - Dots & Christmas

Another set of self closing cards before everything gets packed away.

This is a pretty dots one made from wall paper actually. They are macaron snacks.

There was coordinating paper so the piece of pink is wall paper too.

All adhered to a olive green card base cut 6 inches x 12 inches. Scored at 5.5 and then just less than 1" for the flap.

Double sided tape on the flap and a generous insert.

This is a Christmas Card for which I borrowed the Tim Holtz Winter Wonder die from my niece.
I used this wonderful sparkly decorative paper as a background and cut a snowbank and punched a star from a piece of warm pearl paper.

I added the snowflake which is part of the die and place it on his belly.

All adhered to the teal card base of 6x12 inches with a score at 5.5 inches and just less than 1" for the flap.

Double sided tape on the flap with a generous insert.

More of the sparkly paper on royal blue card base which measures 6 x 12 inches.  It is scored at 5.5 and just less than 1" for the flap.

I cut a Sizzix Snowflake #2 from silver foil card stock and layered a MS Snowflake punch on top.  It was cut from Pale Plum card stock as well as the SU Modern Lake punchie under the greeting.

There is a silver sequin in the middle and this element is adhered to the card with 3D foam tape.

Double sided tape on the flap with a generous insert.

More sparkly paper with the Sizzix Snowman and Hat die. The snowman was embossed with the coordinating folder.

I cut the hat from black card stock and added some sparkle with a gel pen.

The color on the snowman was done with Sharpies to be sure it did not rub off.

Another pearl snowbank which the same card stock as the snowman.

The card base is navy linen texture cut 6x12 inches. Scored at 5.5 and then just less than 1" for the flap.

Double sided tape on the flap with a generous insert.

Polar Bear Card

I cut a few polar bears this morning to include in my exchange cards so I decided to add to my Christmas card stash.

I cut a piece of sparkly paper and adhered it to a piece of white card stock then trimmed the layer to leave a small border on the navy card base.

I ripped some snowbanks from white card stock.  I chalked the rough edges and the horizon line as well.

The polar bear was cut with the Cricut and the Joy of the Season cartridge.  I cut a navy scarf for him.

He is adhered to the card front with 3D foam tape.   I added a silver star in the upper right hand corner.

Card Exchange

I made a couple of these cards for my card exchange buddies.

I started with a black card and then added a layer of sparkly paper leaving a small border.

I cut a black card stock star with the Stamping Up Star Framelits.  I mounted a silver glitter star which was a bit smaller.  These were adhered together and it was adhered to the card front with 3D foam tape.

I created the greeting with the SU Modern Label punchie and the Word Window punchie.  It was also attached to the card front with 3D foam tape.

These are going in the mail and I hope they will be delivered.

Card Club - November - Star

I started with the large greeting which was left over from making this Nativity Christmas Stack kit.

I chose a card base which matched the color of the greeting.  I cut a piece of sparkly paper to leave a small border of the card showing and adhered it to the card front.

The greeting was tacked in place with a bit of tape near the bottom center then the 2 tiny black star brads were added in each of the top corners. Using a push pin to make holes through the card front push the brads through and spread the prongs apart on the inside of the card.

I cut the star with the Sizzix Stars#2 die from silver card stock.  It was adhered to the sparkly paper overlapping the greeting.

Dasher

I just love this sparkly background paper.  I cut it to leave a small border and adhered it to the front of a black card.

I added the red greeting with a ripped top edge with the bottom and sides leaving a small border.  It was adhered to the bottom of the card. I added a line with a red marker to ground it.

I added a silver foil Dasher reindeer die cut to the right of the card center. It looks black which works as well.

A quarter sheet insert was added.

Christmas Card Challenge - Ornament Silver

The challenge for March is Ornament and Silver.

I chose to use my recent purchase again. I cut the Penny Black Creative Die 51-254 Manger from black card stock.  I cut a circle from sparkly paper with a Spellbinder Nestabilities Smooth Round from the small set.  I cut an ornament with the Sizzix Ornament #2 from the same black card stock. I assembled the ornament by gluing the sparkly paper onto the ornament then attaching the manger die cut with a pewter star brad.

I printed the greeting layer onto warm grey card stock then trimmed close to the border.  I then adhered the ornament to that layer aligning it with the branch.  I cut a length of silver cord, made a bow and adhered it to the ornament hanger. I trimmed the ends with scissors.

I placed 2 lengths of silver glitter washi tape onto the black card front aligning them near the top and bottom. The greeting layer was then adhered to the card front with 3D foam tape.  I think I will try a couple with cooler grey card stock.

I made a couple with the same non shed silver glitter paper and the manger scene shows up much better on those.   Those also have the cooler toned card stock greeting layer.

Christmas Card Challenge - Nov - Sparkle / Nativity

I made cards for my monthly Christmas Card Challenge but I changed copper to sparkly.

I wanted to use my QuicKutz Nativity die which is a 12 inch die.  It presents a challenge when I am making A2 cards which only accommodates a portion of the die.  I found some A6 black cards in my stash from a previous project which would allow me to put more of the die onto the card front.  I cut a piece of this sparkly paper to leave a generous border on the 6.25 x 4.75 inch card.

I cut the QuicKutz Nativity from matte silver card stock and you can see that I could include the 3 wise men on half of the cards and the shepherds the other half.

I cut the star from foil paper with the Sizzix Star and Startbursts Die and mounted it over the star cut with the die.  I glued it to card front with the sparkly paper providing a sense of a starry night.

I created the greeting for the Stampin Up Modern Label Punch which was color printed then punched.

Once punched, I mounted it to the card front with 3D foam tape.

I made 6 of these cards.

R2G Card Kit - Snowflake is Butterfly

I started with a black card.  I added a piece of sparkly background paper which leaves a small border.  I cut the large white snowflake with the Cricut and the Winter Lace cartridge.  It was cut at 3.75 inches.  It was placed in the top third of the card and tacked to the card front with a bit of snail adhesive. The silver foil snowflake is a Martha Stewart punch and the smaller black one is also.  There is a tiny irridescent sequin in the centre.  All the snowflakes are held in place with a tiny black brad.  I added a .75 inch strip of black card stock onto which I wrapped a length of white grosgrain ribbon and taped the ends to the back.  This layer was adhered to the card front below the snowflake across the bottom.  The greeting was color printed and punched with the SU Artisan Label punch.  It is adhered over the ribbon with 3D foam tape.

R2G Card Kits - Polar Bear

Another card kit for my April class.
I chose the polar bear from the Cricut Joy of the Season cartridge.
I cut it from white and then cut a purple scarf.  I added a nose, eye and ear with a black marker.  I cut a snowbank with my Creative Memories wavy cutter.  I punched a pearl white star.  I cut a piece of sparkly decorative paper for my night sky and adhered that to a black card.  I then added the snowbank first, then the bear then the star in the upper right hand corner.  Love the decorative paper.

I chose the polar bear from the Cricut Joy of the Season cartridge as my favorite image and Christmas is my favorite holiday.
I cut it from white and then cut a blue scarf.
