Card Making Session - OSW Cards - Fundraiser

I have been making cards with a friend once a month.

This is a One Sheet Wonder card kit.  I brought the kit to Compassion House and these are the left overs.  The ladies there wanted the Thank Yous so I have birthday greeting in this set.

These cards are designed with the One Sheet Wonder design which makes efficient use of designer paper.  This my OSW1 layout design for 6x6 inch paper.

The greeting is from the So Happy For You stamp set in the same color as the card was trimmed with scissors to the frame. The greeting is cut to 3 inches. It was then layered onto a square of white card stock.  This layer is adhered to the card front with 3D foam tape centered on the card front.

The greetings are for these 2 card are designed with Stampin Up So Happy For You, Owl Occasions and Blooming Marvelous stamp sets.

The designer paper is from the Patterns Print III pack.

These will be in a Greeting Card Gift Set in our fundraising event at Welcome to my Kitchen.  This effort was unsuccessful as only 2 of us brought contributions.

Card Making Session - Art Cards with Pencil Crayons

I have been getting together with a friend to make cards once a month. My regular card club has been cancelled due to lack of participation.

I worked on Art Cards which needed to be colored.  I chose color pencils this time instead of watercolor and the water brush which I used last time.

I selected some blues and purples for this card.

The greetings were printed in black on vellum and clear embossed with clear powder.  They were wrapped across the paint brush layer and the ends were folded to the back.  This layer was adhered to the front of a black card.

Tiny black brads were then placed on either side of the greeting through holes made with a push pin.  The prongs were press apart on the inside of the card.

I placed a blank white insert in the inside of the card.

The 3 designs and greetings are part of a greeting card gift set which will be donated to a fundraiser
at the end of April.

Game Night 2 - CH - 1st Letter Game

I am headed to Compassion House to facilitate another 1st Letter Game Night where any resident can participate.  This gives the guys a chance to participate.

We start with a phrase that describes an object.  We take the first letter of each word and place them vertically on a sheet of paper.  Then those in the group try to guess what the object is based on these clues.

One little red wagon ornament. OLRWO.

I have prepared a 10 prizes for those who guess the right phrase to describe the prize.

A gift box of teas I am sure will be appreciated.

A box of greeting cards for all occasions is a prize most folks can use.

I have to thank my sister for her donation of this prize.

Below is a set of Micro Pitchers by Tupperware which was donated by my niece.

I appreciate the donation of good quality prizes from those around me. It offers those going through tough times a time of fun and relaxation.

Christmas Card Gift Set

I have prepared a set of Christmas Cards for a friend who moved away and loves to give handmade cards.

I recycled a note card front into this card.

I added a blue green layer behind the tree image.

I punched a couple of holes in the top and ran a length of gold metallic ribbon through and knotted it in the front.

The Rejoice is a digital image I designed years ago. It was color printed onto white card stock.  I added a gold sparkle star brad above the `j`.  The image was spattered with silver ink.   It was mounted onto a green card base.

A recycled card front mounted onto a purple card to pick up on the holographic image.  Love the silver frame.

I was able to keep the greeting which was great.

This card features my Bethlehem digital.  I printed it in dark brown onto a white card.

The star was printed on vellum and embossed with silver powder.

The edges were ripped and then it was folded over the edges of the card then adhered to the inside.

Another recycle card front with a white dove placed on a red card base.  The greeting was printed in the top left hand corner.

Box of Cards - Donation

I am dropping off a box of 20 cards - mostly thank yous to The Compassion House which is where Mom stayed during her cancer treatments 2 years ago.  The need is mostly for thank yous but I included a few blank ones as well for any other need that would arise.

I am very grateful for the kindness and care the staff showed Mom during her time there.  It is a service so much needed as women go through their treatments while they are away from family and friends.

I was blessed to get some A2 envelopes recently for a very good price so it makes giving donations a little easier.

I hope this makes life for the staff a little easier with these at hand when the need arises.

Recent Events

We had our Summer BBQ for our women's group on Monday night.

I prepared some door prizes.

This is a box of photo cards from my own photos.  I included a few images from my upcoming Simple Nature 2019 calendar.

I put in 12 cards and then created a insert to provide details and fill the additional space in the box.

Turned out really well.

On the weekend as I was working on photos, mats and frames for my photo show at the end of June I was forced to evaluate what I had in stock.

I found several frames which would not the type required for gallery shows. I decided to fill them with photos and donate them as prizes for the BBQ.

On the right is "Bright Sparrow" which was framed in a float frame 6x8 inches.  The frame as a claw hanger and a wire stand.

This is a Spring Blossom in wonderful shades of pink.

This is a plastic frame 8x8 glass which held one of the photos I printed for consideration in the show at the end of the month.

Photographing frame art is difficult and challenging. The reflections of what is around just appear hence the plaid of my shirt in the right hand corner.

These were well received.

We played some games in guessing flower plants and the names of birds.  We also played the first letter game which I love.

I won a couple of prizes related to gardening.  A yellow watering can and a box for seed packets.

The table cloths where aqua. Don't you love the nature napkins we had at our place settings.

The table center pieces were vases filled with daisies and baby's breath.  Our theme was "Bloom where you are Planted".

Our guest spoke about seeds holding the power to grow and how we can use our power in Christ to bloom where we a planted in different phases of our lives.

I was lucky enough to bring home one of the centerpieces so I am enjoying fresh flowers on my table this.  Thank you.

I have all green lights on the new internet modem installed yesterday.

I have to say that living with out internet is becoming difficult as much of the information we use is only available there.

Addresses, reviews, email, websites.  I was lost for a while but I am back on-line.

Some have no greeting and some have Thanks as the sentiment.

Several designs have duplicates in the set.

Greeting Card Gift Sets - Portfolio 2 more sets

This set of card features a cross stencil I created myself. I applied ink with a sponge in a diagonal direction in green. The purple butterfly stamped.  The doll is added to the a handmade paper card.  I added fiber for wings and thread for hair.  I printed trout graphic then colored it with chalk.  The gifts in the last one are my own design.  I printed them on the card stock then water colored them.

This set has one of my lily color prints onto card stock. It was mounted onto green card stock.  The Thinking of You features a small square piece of water color decorative paper.  The purple daisy is hand painted onto purple handmade paper.  The trio of birthday gifts are hand watercolored with a wide brush.

Greeting Card Gift Sets - Portfolio

I'm working on inventory for my sale next weekend.

I designed a new portfolio for selling these gifts sets.  The advantage to the old packaging is that you can see all the cards and it stands on it own so may not need a container on the craft table. The front has a small label at the bottom identifying the set and the back holds the credits.  The inside shows both cards.  I used a 6x10 cellophane where I add the 2 labels and a piece of bond between the 2 sets.  I seal the cellophane then punch holes in the center with a long reach punch through the cellophane and the bond paper. The provides strength to the ribbon feature. I string a piece of satin ribbon through the holes from the back to the inside and back to the outside and knot and trim the ribbon ends.

Happy with this system.

I'm refurbishing some of my cards which have been returned to me or were samples for classes that did not run or some other reason the cards were set aside.  I've added a piece of card stock or whatever else is needed.  This set features watercolored graphics glued to handmade paper then onto card stock.

This set features paintings of my own.  The green white lily and the birch trees are paintings I have scanned and printed on the card fronts.

The flowers are from Dover Clipart collection.  The hyacinth and the lily are great flowers for this time of year.

Greeting Card Gift Set with Folder

I decided to package some of my Stampin Up cards in gifts.  At this time, these would make great gifts for teachers.
I designed the cover with the Stampin Up Tea Shoppe stamp set.  I used 3 different tea cups on the 3 folders. I mixed So Saffron with a few different colors. Not Quite Navy, Island Indigo and Elegant Eggplant.  The folder holds 4 cards protected in cellophane sleeves. The folder measures 6" x 11". I scored the 11" side folder at 5.5" then .75" on each side to create the spine.  I placed 2 one quarter inch holes in the spine .75 inches from the center of the 6" spine.  I used a piece of So Saffron 7/8" twill ribbon and I created an innie outie bow then flagged both ends.  The folder is used as a card for the recipient.  Their name can be written on the front and your sentiments can be put on the inside cover.

This second picture shows the cellophane sleeves with 2 cards each.  The sleeves are adhered into the spine.
