Challenge - Red and Gold

I made the card for the Challenge at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown which is Red and Gold. We are allowed a neutral.
I selected a red card which I cut 4.25x11 and created the fold at the top.  I added a layer of gold foil paper with Merry Christmas all over it.  I cut a Cuttlebug ornament from the same red paper.  I added a Prima gold flower and a pearl daisy confetti flower to the centre and held it all in place with a mini gold brad. I placed 3D foam tape behind the hanger and the center of the ornament and adhered it to the card front. I placed a piece of gold thread through the ornament hanger and then pulled the ends through a hole I made in the card with a push pin.  I strategically placed the hole to fall under the bough.  I cut the bough from pearl card stock with the Impression Obsession die of a branch/bough (DEI021-N).  This die requires the metal plate adapter plate to get a clean cut.  I glued it down with quick dry adhesive from a bottle with a very fine tip.

Card Club - October - Sunflower

Sunflowers are one of my favorite flowers and with these colors was a good choice for a fall card.  Yes, it's still fall as no snow is currently on the ground.  I cut the sunflower in 2 colors of yellow scrapbook paper with the SB Sunflower die.  I selected a piece of DP for the background.  I punched a SU scallop circle in dark brown and added a color printed greeting in the centre. The scallop is adhered with 3D foam tape.  I added a apricot colored twill tape ribbon below the flower around the DP background.  I made these kits with 2 different DP backgrounds and adjusted the colors of the ribbon and card accordingly.

R2G - Glitter & Snowflake - Card Kit

I made this kit with Designer Paper from a My Mind's Eye Glitter 12x12 pad.  I cut the 2 pieces of DP to 4x5.25" then cut again at 3". The 2 pieces were taped together at the back switching the patterns. This layer was glued to the card front.  I placed a small bit of adhesive in the centre of the ribbon then place it across the card over the join of the papers. I placed a small slit with an exacto knife in the card fold and pulled the ribbon through and taped both ends to the inside of the card.  Then I glued the centre of the SU! Snow Flurry Snowflake die to the ribbon.  I adhered the button to the centre of the snowflake with a Zot.

Card - Challenge - Squares

I made this card for the Home Card Challenge on CST.
I started with the designer paper which is squares of course. Then I trimmed it to 4" square and cut it in half.  I glued the halves to the top and bottom of the card leaving a space in the middle.  I placed a pink gross grain ribbon across the middle and pulled the end through a slit in the fold and taped the ends to the inside of the card.  I cut the greeting with a Memory Box die in bright green.  Adhered it with snail adhesive.  It went together pretty easy!

How To: Use a Die like a Punch

I wanted to punch out this flower from Designer Paper but the shape I wanted was in a die. This was a challenge because I could not see the paper through the tool like I can on a punch. I worked it out with a bit of thinking about it.  It worked really well.
