Vintage Snowman

I started with the Vintage Snowman die cut from K&Company Cardstock & Acetate set.  I chose a green card which worked with the bow in the gift he is holding.  I searched my stash for a off white vellum which happened to have stripes.  I attached it to the card front with 4 tiny red brads in all four corners.  I adhered the snowman die cut to the vellum layer.  I used vellum adhesive by Tombow to adhered the acetate greetings placed below the gift.  I added an acetate snowflake in the top right hand corner held in place with a tiny red brad.

These die cut sets really facilitate the making of cards because all the elements coordinate nicely.

Christmas - Use Your Stash

I made this card with pieces from my stash.  The strip of designer paper, I think is by Basic Grey.  It combines the dill color and the brighter citron green color.  I chose textured card stock in a citron color for the card which works with the darker green.  I cut the trees with the Tree Art Stamp & Die set by Hampton Art from a scrap of dill card stock. I've owned this die for a few years and this is the first time using it from my stash. I stamped them with a spatter stamp in dark green ink. I embossed the middle one with a Cuttlebug Friends Forever embossing folder which mimics the design in the decorative paper.  I printed the greeting in red on white card stock. I ripped the bottom edge and adhered it to the card front.  The next layer was the designer paper. Then came the three trees.  Submitting to challenge at Holly Jolly - Use your stash.

Feathered Friends

I started with a used Christmas card from my stash because I did not have a stamp that would work.  I trimmed the chickadee panel from the card front leaving a white border all the way around.  I then selected a card which worked with it.  I stamped the card front with the Stampin Up Itty Bitty backgrounds and Versamark ink and embossed them with white powder to create a snowfall effect. I chose the color printed greeting from my stash as well.  I layered it on the same green as the card then red.  I cut the banner end with the Stampin Up Triple Banner punch.  With the red layer it pops on the green card.  I adhered the greeting with 3D foam tape.

Simple Birch Trio

I selected one of the backgrounds I created during my bubble decorating paper session and printed onto the front of my card.  I added a thin border in dark green.  I glued the Memory Box Birch Trio cut in white card stock over the background.  I ripped a piece of white card stock to create snow and a grounding for the trees.   I added a strip of SU Pool Party card stock across the snow bank. I stamped the greeting with a clear stamp and Baja Breeze ink.

Card - A Christmas Wish

I created this card with several challenges in mind.
I started with a Stampin Up Whisper White card on which I printed a thin border on the card front in Pool Party.  I cut 3 pieces of Winter Frost DSP then applied them to non SU glossy card stock in an aqua which matches Pool Party leaving a small border. I glued them evenly spaced on the card front. I stamped the greeting "A Christmas Wish" from the Home for Christmas stamp set in Baja Breeze and clear embossed it.  I used a square punch to flag both ends of the greeting.  I cut 2 snowflakes with the Snow Flurry Bigz die.  The larger one in the glossy aqua card stock and the smaller in white pearl card stock.  The greeting was placed over the 3 panels and the snowflakes layered and placed to the left of the greeting.

Card - Non Traditional Christmas Star

I started with a teal card.  I used a DSP by My Mind's Eye - Good Day Sunshine - Bold Dots Paper.  I cut it to leave a small border on the card front.  For the stars I started with a yellow ivory card stock and brushed it with Tim Holtz Distress Stain in Antique Linen and then added a bit of TH Gathered Twig to match the dots in the paper. I cut the stars with the Sizzix Star Die. I used TH Aged Mahogany stain for the small star and applied some to the edges of the yellow and teal stars.  I wanted the greeting to match so I brushed some stain onto the rubber stamp but the coverage was not great. I brushed the edge of greeting with the same Aged Mahogany stain. I dyed a piece of white cotton thread with the same stain.  I wrapped it around the DSP layer then glued it to the card front.  I layered the stars and held them in place with a tiny gold star brad.  The greeting is adhered to the card front over the thread with 3D foam tape.

Challenge - Christmas Tea Cup Box

I decided to play along with a couple of challenges this week.

I made a tea cup box. Because one of the challenges is Christmas I choose this BoBunny Christmas Ornament double sided paper.  I used the Cricut and the Joy of the Season cartridge and I cut 2 tea cups then cut a strip of the same card stock to make the box which I adhered between the tea cups. I added 2 velvet silk flowers and some holly leaves all held in place with a gold tiny brad and a gold sequin in the centre. Since it's a box and gift giving is the idea I placed individually wrapped tea bags in the box.  Ready to give!

Challenge - Glitter Tree

I started with a background leftover from this class.  I cut the tree with a Sizzix Tree thick die and trimmed it to tuck in the bottom left hand corner.  I cut the snowflake from the same paper with a Marianne Snowflake thin die.  I dug through my stash of greetings and then cut this one with my Creative Memories Wavy Cutter.  I rubbed the top edge with a blue ink pad to highlight the edge against the trees in the background. The snowflake is held in place with a tiny silver brad.

Challenges - Reindeer

I started with a ivory card.  I added the 2 pieces of washi tape on the top left and bottom right and trimmed them at an angle. I colored a chipboard deer with Tim Holtz Fired Brick.  I created a background from script paper from left over cards from a recent project. I found some card stock that coordinated with the red in the washi tape.  I punched it with the new Stampin Up Artisan Label punch.  I added a blue SU Modern Label punchie with a red SU Word Window punchie.  I stamped the sentiment in black with a small clear stamp with a VersaFine ink pad.
I'm submitting this card in the Holly Jolly - Something New and Clean & Simple FLT247 Sketch.

Challege - Holiday Sweets

I had decided I could not enter this challenge at Holly Jolly because I did not have any images that would fit the category.  This morning I was going through old Christmas cards for another project and saw this wonderful cake!  That's it, I will upcycle this card into a new one.  I quickly cut it to size with my new Spellbinder A2 Basics Matting Nestabilities. Once cut, I rubbed it's edges with a Chocolate Chip ink pad.  I layered it onto red then green and the onto the white card.  I printed my sentiment in Chocolate Chip above the Christmas Cake  image.

Challenge - Christmas Ornaments

I made this card for the Christmas Card Challenge at Holly Jolly this week.  The theme is Christmas Ornaments. I chose to upcycle an old Christmas card.  I punched the glittered snowflake out with the Stampin Up! Ornament punch.  I aligned the color printed greeting in Island Indigo with the hole already in the card.  Once printed, I glued the upcycled card onto the card front.  I tied the string to the ornament and then glued the ornament to the card front.  I then pulled the string up to the top fold.  I used a push pin to make a hole in the fold and pulled the string through and taped down the end on the inside of the card.

Challenge - HJ - Lots of Layers

I made this card the challenge at Holly Jolly this week which is Lots of Layers.  I started with a navy card.  I chose white and light blue card stock and cut both at the same time with one of the Apothecary Dies.  I layered the white piece to the card front leave a small border all the way around.  Then I glued the light blue die cut into the hole in the white card stock. Then I cut the SU Snowflake #2 in the same navy card stock as the card.  I then cut and layered the largest snowflake from the SU! Snow Flurry Bigz die in white, the medium one from the same light blue card stock.  I added a 1/2" circle punchie in the card color in the center.  I punched a SU! Modern Label punchie and stamped my greeting in navy and punched it with the SU Word Window punch. Layered them and mounted to the card front with 3D tape.

Card - Challenge - Santa's Reindeer

I made this card for the Holly Jolly Christmas Card Challenge this week which is Santa's Reindeers
I used the Stampin Up - Dasher stamped in Chocolate Chip on cream card stock.  I die cut it with the Spellbinder Deckled Rectangles nestabilities.  I layered it onto the next size rectangle in Real Red.  To keep with the Christmas theme I found a piece of  Anna Griffin flourish DP which I layered onto a matching piece of card stock.  I added 2 pieces of Real Red 1/4" gross grain ribbon with a piece of Chocolate Chip 1/4" twill tape between them.  I cut the ends at an angle.  The ribbon ends are tucked behind the DP.  I added a MS snowflake punchie in the same cream card stock held in place with a chocolate brown brad. Really happy with this one!
