Exchange Cards - Christmas Cards

I am playing catch up on my exchange cards.  With Dad`s hospitalization I have spent more time with Mom which involving traveling.   These are December`s cards then I will get the November and October ones done.

I chose Stampin Up Christmas Jingle designer paper because it had a green and red side.  I decided to make A7 or 5x7 inch cards. I printed a greeting layer of Very Vanilla with greetings in Real Red and Old Olive trimmed to leave a border all the way around. I punched 14 stars out.  Then applied thin 3D tape to the bottom ones and thicker 3D tape to the top ones.  The top ones match the card base color.  I placed them in a round shape to create a wreath. I added a Real Read wide grosgrain ribbon below the wreath and taped the ends to the back.

I adhered the greeting layer to the card front and pressed them over night.  This morning I added the prism elements of a snowflake on one and a star on the other adhered with Bling Zots.  I then added a thin gold cord bow to the wreath.

These are headed to my exchange partners.

Card - No Greeting

I'm working on cards with no greeting for a friend who has requested several.  The leaf is a nature print with a real maple leaf and acrylic paint that I made several years ago.  I dug it out of my stash and mounted it onto a coordinating card.  It still needed something so I punched a piece of wine card stock which had been painted with gold acrylic paint which the Stampin Up! Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border Punch. This card stock was left over from this card.  I strung some gold cord through the last few holes on the right hand side.

Card - SU! Book Party

When I saw the new Stampin Up! Christmas Catalog I decided that I just had to have a party.  With the renovations I decided on a Book Party. Susan was our demo!
Someone had requested a demo on the Big Shot.  We covered Framelits, Sizzlets, Embossing Folders, and Bigz dies.  Then we made this card.  The Designer Paper is from the 2011 Christmas Lane Simply Scrappin Kit. The Ornament Keepsake stamp was stamped in Old Olive on white then cut out with the matching Framelit.  I embossed the bottom half of my Cherry Cobbler card with the Finial Press (on left ) & Petals a Plenty (right) embossing folder which is similar to the pattern in the ornament.  I wrapped the end of the Cherry Cobbler Satin Waffle ribbon between the DP and the card.  I covered the other end with a strip of Early Expresso to cover the join of embossing and DP. We used a small adhesive dot to adhere the small gold cord bow to the ornament then mounted it to the card front with 3D Dimensionals. It was a good time!
