Card Making with Seniors - April - Measuring Tape

I am making cards with the seniors today.

This is my masculine card for this month. I found a wood background graphic on line.  I then altered it some with photo editing software to make it bolder. I printed it on warm beige card stock.  I was trying to match the measuring tape.  I did apply some color to the background with a pale pencil crayon.  I trimmed it to 4.00 x 5.25 inches.

I cut the paper measuring tape into 6 inch lengths.  I adhered the tape on the diagonal and taped the ends to the back of the background.

I printed greetings onto a kraft card stock and then cut them out with one of the Stampin Up framelits from the Apothecary set.  It was then adhered to the card front with 2 tiny black brads.

I decided to add a hammer and nails to my sample I put together after the class.  I think that worked out very nicely.

Into card box it goes!

Card Club - Sept - Butterfly

We start another session of card club today.  I look forward to seeing my regulars and meeting new participants.

I started with a piece of double sided designer paper cut to 4.00 x 5.25 inches.  I then cut it again at 3.5 inches.  The small piece was turned over and then the pieces were tape together on the back over the join.  The brown grosgrain ribbon was placed over the join across this layer and the ends were taped to the back.  This was then adhered to the card front leaving a small border.  I created the accent with a cotton butterfly die cut onto which I layered a vellum butterfly punched with the Martha Stewart punch.  I placed a tiny copper brad near the head to keep these layers together.  The accent was adhered to the card front with 3D foam tape.

I chose a several designer papers and card stock to provide variety to the group.

Fence Post - Get Well

I made this card for a friend who experienced a stroke recently.  I have looked a fences made with the SU Hardwood background but I don't have the stamp. I have hoarded a few sheets of wood 12x12s so I cut into one to make this card.
I color printed a hillside scene from CKLER onto vanilla card stock.  I adhered it to the a dark green card.  I cut the paper down to approximately 2.75" after determining that is where I wanted my fence.  I cut them .5" wide and used the SU Chevron punch to create the peaks on each plank.  I ran a green ink pad to match the card along all the edges.  I cut a longer strip for the cross piece.  I adhered these to the card front and trimmed the bottoms to the card edge.  I added an oval greeting which has been chalked.  The edges again have been rubbed with the same green ink pad.  I hope he is feeling better soon.
