Photo Card Gift Set - Donation

Another set of 5x7 inch photo cards.  The process went a little better this time around.

Above is the Tree Swallow
On the left - Great Scaup, Barn Swallow, Black Capped Chickadee, Red Wing Black Bird and the neighbourhood Cat.
On the right - Pink Dahlia

I refurbished a card box by wrapping it with burgundy mulberry paper.  I cut a 7x7 inch white card stock liner.

I then created a spacer insert for the top of the box.

Cards to Gallery - Photo Cards

This is a Tree Swallow photo which I took when I visited the Ellis Bird Farm this summer.  They were all over the place and overall cooperated with those of us with cameras.

As you can see he had his eye on me but I got a great photo.

I am happier with my photos coming back from the developer since I had a conversation with the tech in the print room.

It means I have to maintain 2 sets of photos; one in the 4x6 and another in the 3.5x5 inches.  For these photo cards I have printed 3.5 and trimmed a bit off the length.

The photos are adhered to great heavy card stock which produces a great end product.

I caught this wonderful yellow tulip at the Legislative Grounds.

This is a Greater Scaup which is medium sized diving duck.  This is a male with the great shiny head and striking yellow eye.

This was taken on my trip the Elk Island Park this summer.

Would be a great card for a guy into the outdoors.

Cards to the Gallery

My reception at the Gallery last night went really well. Several friends dropped by to check out the art.

With brisk sales I was in need of more cards to keep my display full.

I have added a title to the card front as many people asked me the names of the birds and flowers.

Here is my Black Capped Chickadee on heavy white card stock.

I love the various colors in Cosmos flowers.  I captured this one at the Legislative Grounds this summer.  It's great to have another in the background that repeats the punch of pink.

Here's that cute little Barn Swallow with his great colors.  This was taken at the John Poole Wetlands at the Lois Hole Provincial Park near St. Albert.

I sold the wedding card I delivered on Tuesday so I whipped up another based on this lovely image of a wedding couple available at EDigg Clipart.

Printed in black on vellum and clear embossed.  I chose a piece of bubble decorative paper.  I love how his side is more a masculine color and hers is lovely blue lavender.  The paper was cut to leave a small border of the warm blue card.  The vellum was trimmed a bit more and is held in place with 4 tiny white brads.

These are off to the gallery this morning.

I am bringing 2 Nature Photo Calendars and 1 Teddy Bear Calendar as well.

Recent Snapshots

On my walk the other morning I was surprised by a brush on my leg.  It was the neighbor's cat.  It meandered a bit as I stood taking photos of flowers.  Then his focus changed and as you can see something caught his attention.  I don't what it was and he did not pounce so it was not food anyway.

He is quite a large cat with nice coloring and nice eyes.

A trip to the Lois Hole Provincial park last night did not yield many good photos.  I guess the waterfowl babies are growing so the parents are free to move about a lot more.

I found the swallows in their regular place under the boardwalk sitting on the metal braces which keep it square.  He looks more puffy here than usual.  Love the orange color of his throat against the blue of the head.

I have not taken a lot of sunset photos in my time.  I guess I don't have an ideal place to take one.  Here I had to live with power lines.  There is trees between me and the sun so it does not create a super shot of the sunset on the water.

I am investigating where would be a great place to go capture that shot.  I'll keep you posted about more sunsets.

The birds were Black Headed Gulls which I had not seen before.

I finally got some peony photos.  I have been waiting for them to open for a couple of weeks.  Cool weather contributed to a slow rate of blooming.

There are so many colors and various levels of fullness in petals.  I love their grand size.  I found hot pink, light pink and white with a hint of pink.

Very happy with these.

The peonies were so lovely.  I like this two toned on with 2 shades of pink and the petals are filly in the center and smoother on the outside.

I believe this one is named Santa Fe.

It will likely be part of my photo calendar next year.

I continue to drive through Elk Island National Park in hopes of seeing and photographing bison.

This was last Sunday on my way back from the country to visit my Dad.

This is a small male.  He refused to lift his head.  They are majestic and very large animals.

Maybe, I can't blame him because there was at least seven vehicles on the loop taking photos.
