Notecards - Black Flourishes & Butterflies

Another set of note cards for my friends who lost a loved one.

This set is printed from Stampin Up! digital stamps. The greeting is printed in black.  I chose flourishes and butterflies.

Card - Custom 50th HB

I created this custom card for a friend.  She showed me a card as a sample which I have used as inspiration.
I started with a black card.  I layered a piece of copper card stock trimmed to leave a small border. I decided that with the custom elements I needed to incorporate I would use vellum and print those elements. I created a double frame over which I placed 2 flourishes from Free Vector.  I placed the mixed font greeting within the frame.  The 50 was cut with the Cricut with the Base Camp cartridge.  I used a dry adhesive runner to glue them to vellum.  I placed the vellum over the copper layer and applied a little bit of dry adhesive under the flower. I punched the flowers with the SU! Five Petal punch in black and copper.  I punched a matching small one in black then held them in place with a tiny copper brad.  I added 4 tiny black brads on the 4 corners of the frame. She gave me the sentiment to include on the insert and I included a white envelope.

Calendar Project - 2012

I've been working on a calendar project.  A calendar which would hold 4x6 photos or artwork.  This calendar has metallic accents in the form of silver, gold and copper flourishes.  I've selected some of my photos from last year to put into it.  It's still a work in progress that I hope to perfect for the Christmas gift giving season.

Card - CST Challenge #9 - Flourish

I created this card for the CST challenge this week which was use black and white with splash of color.
I started with a black card and added a white embossed layer (Cuttlebug - Floral Fantasy) trimmed to just a bit smaller than the card. Then I cut a die with the Sizzix Flourish in black and cut again the hearts in hot pink. I thought it worked well with the hearts and flourishes on the embossed layer. I glued it down and added my hot pink hearts. It was for someone having a birthday so I added a stamped greeting in hot pink and smudged the edge with a black ink pad.
