Photo - Challenge - Day 1 to 5

I've decided to participate in Sally Russick's 15 Day Mini Photo Challenge.  Photos of my ordinary life everyday which looks pretty good!  I like to challenge myself to see things in a different way or at least creatively.

Day 01 - Reflection

This is a reflection of a lamp in the melted liquid wax of a warmer.  I was so surprised to see it create this circle around the edge.  It scented the air for most of the day in a fall scent and it was this most delicious orange color.

Day 02 - Wrapping

This is a wrapping for a cell phone.  Handmade in the great colors of red, black and grey.  It provides protection for the phone and looks great.  The loop at the top hooks on the red button to keep the phone in place.

Day 03 - Kitchen Ritual

This is a daily ritual of boiling water for tea.  In the morning it's for black or red chai tea and in the evening for herbal citrus chamomile. I'm enjoying my cup as I blog.

Day 04 - Paper

This is a shot of the card stock standing on their side in my paper cupboard.  I loved the lines of color and the variation in the shades.

Day 05 - Repetitive Pattern

This is a photo of the closed blind in my craft space.  I have a light on the lower half which makes the top darker and with heavier shadows.  It provides a regular horizontal pattern with lights and darks.

Photo Challenge - Day 2 - 8

Here's my week two of photos for Kati's photo a day challenge for November.

Day 2 - Number

2 for Tea
I was at a sale yesterday and they were selling china tea cups. The prices were pretty good so I decided to purchase a few.  Here are 2 that I selected which I can use to have tea with a friend.

Day 3 - Leaf

I chose a Japanese Maple Leaf which I took on a visit to the Muttart Conservatory the other day.

Day 4 - Brown

Shades of Brown - to me gingerbread men need to be brown and they have to have red hearts on their bellies.  I have cut them from a variety of browns over the years in my card making.  The chocolate brown ones are my favorites.

Day 5 - Cozy

I chose a warm mug of hot chocolate because we received our first snow this week and it really feels like I just want to snuggle up on the couch with the TV remote and hibernate.

Day 6 - Pumpkin

This is a nice orange pumpkin that my Mom grew in her garden.  I have not turned it into a meal yet.  I understand from Mom that it's not really a pumpkin it's a Sunshine Squash but it sure looks like a pumpkin.

Day 7 - Friend

I received this Willow Tree figurine from my friend as a Christmas gift.  It is a reminder of her when I see it.  Thanks Susan.

Day 8 - Table

I chose my every day dishes for my table photo. It's Corelle in white with black and grey stripes.  I selected this pattern many years ago but I still like it.  The cups for the set are small so I never use them.  I have added my china porcelain tea mug in basic white which I regularly use.

June A Photo A Day Challenge - Week 1

I have decided to join this challenge hosted by Kati at Kati's Little Corner.  We could post every day or once a week.  With the class prep I had to do this week I decided to post at the end of the first week.

Day One - Leaf

I chose the photo of a leaf with a water drop on it.  It had rained earlier and all the plants were wet.

Day Two - Favorite Color

Yellow is one of my favorite colors.  I have mugs, clothes, bags and my water kettle in this color.  My kitchen colors are yellow and navy.  Many years ago when I spent over a year unemployed I bought this kettle with my first pay cheque at my new job.

Day Three - Weather

I took this photo after I decided to join the challenge. It's rained quite a bit lately and this day I could see the clouds darkening so I chose to head to the river valley and what shot I could get.  I liked the bright green at the bottom against the dark of the clouds at the top.  It seems we have construction cranes everywhere this summer.

Day Four - On the Wall

I was looking for a mural painted on an outside wall but was not able to get one I was happy with so I chose a wall decal instead.
One of the girls at work has this wall decal in her office.  It's a good philosophy and good words to live by.

Day Five - Sunglasses

I took this photo of my Foster Grant sunglasses.  I wanted to take the photo from a different angle and I was able to get the name in the foreground.  Works for me.

Day Six - Dot

This is decorated paper I made myself this morning.  I made this polka dot paper with a technique I found on line a while back. I made some bright with purple and orange and pastel paper with blues and pinks for baby cards. Today, I chose red, green and gold because I will be making Christmas cards with this paper. The color is Tim Holtz Distress Stain - Pine Needles, Fired Brick and Tarnished Brass. Check back later to see the cards.

Follow this link for How To make this paper.

Day Seven - Water

I chose this reflection of a large building in the lake. I took a walk around this man made lake where I live and the water was not smooth for a perfect reflection but I thought it looked pretty good.  I love the blue sky.  One of the days recently when the weather was good, the sun was shining, the birds were singing and it was good the be outside.

Check back for my post next week.  Later.
