Cards - All Occasion

I wanted to finish a few more cards before cleaning up my space for company as well as use up the rest of this gold speckled paper.

An Island Indigo card base with a piece of the gold decorative paper adhered with ds tape and glue stick.

I added a gold fabric ribbon along the left hand edge knotted to the top of the card.

A flower element with leftover flowers from the earlier set. Cut with the Tim Holtz Tattered Flowers die.

Rust, golden yellow and blue to match the card all held in place with a copper mini brad.

White quarter sheet insert and envelope.

A masculine themed card with Not Quite Navy card base with a piece of the gold speckled decorative paper.

A length of gold fabric ribbon tied along the top edge and knotted.

I cut a Tim Holtz mover and shaper Jalopy truck from same card stock as card and adhered with 3D tape.

A white quarter sheet insert with a white envelope.

For this card I used a SU Handsome Hunter A2 card base.

Adhered a piece of gold speckled decorative paper and trimmed the left hand side to the card edge with scissors.

Added a length of gold fabric ribbon along the fold edge of the card and knotted.

There was a star shaped hole where I had cut a shape earlier.  I cut a yellow star with the same cutter (SU Star Thinlits). It was adhered over the hold with 3D foam tape.

A white quarter sheet insert and white envelope and it is ready to give.

A bit of change of pace in color for this card.

The star was a leftover from earlier cardmaking so I mounted it to a piece of Tempting Turquoise card stock trimmed to leave a border.

I chose a bright green card base - Glorious Green I think.

I tacked the large star in Summer Sun then the small star in the same color as the blue layer.

Made a hole in these layers and added a yellow star brad.

This layer was then adhered to the green card front.

White quarter sheet insert and envelope.

Cards - All Occasion for my box

From the kits prepared for Compassion House a year ago I made a few cards for my upcoming family birthdays.

This is beautiful deep teal card base with a half circle of decorative paper, caramel seam binding tied on the fold, with a butterfly accent.

The butterfly cut from deep teal with the Sizzix Winged Beauties thinlit set mounted on a ivory circle to highlight it's shape.

On this card it is a true blue A2 card base with polka dot designer paper in the half circle with the navy seam binding tied on the fold.

Same Sizzix Winged Beauties thinlits set diecut on a white circle.

Same supplies of the first just arranged in the portrait orientation.

On this true blue card base I added a circle greeting above the butterfly accent.

A bright orange card base with a geometric patterned half circle with a Hampton Arts tree diecut and a circle greeting.

A couple of nice male themed birthday cards with the same supplies as those above.

The greetings are color printed and punched with the Modern Label punch by Stampin Up.

Cards for the box

I had a piece of designer paper left over from my preparation for the Compassion House class in March.

Nice masculine paper so I paired it with the Tim Holtz Jalopy mover shaper die cut.

I added it to a dark teal card.  I aligned it along the right hand side of the card this time.

I added light blue card stock to the windows of the Jalopy as a lady at my last CHouse class had done it and I thought it worked really well.

I added a Stampin Up Modern Label punchie with a Word Window color coordinated color printed greeting.

These were both adhered to the card front with 3D foam tape.

I started with a medium grey card base.

I added designer paper by Recess - Sugarplum Paisleys Ice Dance which was cut to 4.00 x 5.25 inches.

I highlighed the yellow in the paper with a yellow ribbon on the left hand side along the fold.

The butterfly was cut with the Sizzix Winged Beauties thinlit set from purple navy card stock.

I added a Stampin Up Modern Label punch from the same card stock as the butterfly with a Word Window greeting.

These were both adhered to the card front with 3D foam tape.

A couple more for the card box!

2020 Cardmaking - CH - Class 2

I chose the Angled Rectangle as my layout for my card making session at Compassion House tonight.

The designer paper is cut to 4.00 x 5.25 inches. I layed it on the front of an olive card till I was happy with the layout. I adhered it then trimmed it to the edges of the card.

I used one of the triangles cut from the edges as an accent along with a white silk flower, an aqua handmade paper one and a white sequin all held in place with a tiny blue brad.

I have built in a lot of variety in the kits for this class so not any of the cards are the same.

This is a versatile layout as it works tall or wide.

I chose a teal card for this designer paper. This one has a greeting in the form of a Stampin Up Modern Label greeting in the top right hand corner.  It is adhered with 3D foam tape.

The accent is a dark teal circle with a yellow star die cut on top.  It repeats the pattern in the designer paper. It is also mounted with 3D foam tape.

The inserts in on the inside are blank.

This one started with a brown card to work with the scratch pattern in the designer paper by Bo Bunny - Back to Backs - Gift of Love

I added a Modern Label greeting in the bottom left hand corner.

A Tim Holtz Old Jalopy die cut in the top right hand corner.

Makes a great card for the guys in our lives!

Thank You Cards - Compassion House

I am delivering some thank you cards to Compassion House today.

Another DSP Split with an oval greeting where I offset a yellow one behind it!    Another with pink tones!

A recycled butterfly card which was trimmed to fit the front of the card.  A card with a bit of a masculine theme with the old Jalopy in the bottom right hand corner.

I made up some old card kits to get them out of the house.  These were originally birthday cards so I added an oval Thank you greeting with 3D foam tape and voila another card to go.  I trimmed these watercolored glitter cards to fit on the A2 sized card and layered with a colored layer onto a black card.

R2Go All Occasion Card Kit - Set 8

I made a couple more Ready 2 Go All Occasion Card Kits today.

This card started with a navy blue card base set in the tall orientation.

I chose designer paper Color Ways Sapphire Collection by Paper House. I trimmed it to 4" by 5.25" and then cut it with the Stampin Up Sunburst Thinlit die.  I adhered it to the card front aligning all edges leaving a small border.

I created an accent with a 2" white circle punchie then a blue 1.75" punchie.  I added a large white silk flower, then a smaller blue one.  I aligned them on the circle and used a push pin to create the hole for the brad.  I placed the silk flowers on the brad and pushed the prongs through the hole and spread them apart on the back of the circle.  This was adhered to the card front with 3D foam tape.

I generally include cards in a stack kit which would work for the guys in our lives.

I started with a Soft Suede colored card base.  I added a layer of gorgeous designer paper but I can't find the credit now.  I trimmed it to 4" by 5.25" then angled it on the card front until I was happy.  I adhered it with double sided tape and then trimmed it to the card edges with scissors.

I added a Tim Holtz Old Jalopy die cut in dark brown card stock.  It was cut with the Movers & Shapers set.  It was adhered with 3D foam tape.

The greeting was printed and then punched with the Stampin Up Modern Label punch.  It was adhered with 3D foam tape as well.

These layouts are very versatile as they work in both orientations and a greeting can easily be added to either.  I included SU Modern Label punchie greetings in this kit with 3D foam tape to adhere them.

Compassion House - Thank You Cards

I made some more thank you cards for Compassion House this week.  I am delivering them tonight.

This card is a design I have used before.  You can see a few here.

I cut a 6 inch circle then cut it in half.  The straight edge was placed along the fold and adhered to the grey card front.

I added a black grosgrain ribbon which was run the length of the fold and tied in a knot.  I added floral accent made of 2 white silk flowers and a flower punchie all held in place with a tiny black brad.

The greeting was color printed and punched with the Stampin Up Word Window punch.  It was adhere near the top of the card with 3D foam tape.

This layout is based on ripping a piece of designer paper into 2 and adhering them to the card front leaving a space for the card base color to show.

On the card on the left I used a black card base and a dark grey designer paper.  You need to rip away from you to avoid having a white deckled edge. You have to rip the edge again on the second piece to get rid of the white edge.

The Tim Holtz Old Jalopy Mover Shaper die in silver metallic paper was adhered to the card front in the bottom right hand corner with 3D foam tape.

For the greeting, I added a silver Stampin Up Modern Label punchie topped with a Word Window greeting.  This was adhered with 3D foam tape.

The Vintage Alarm Clock and Camera diecuts are by Tim Holtz. I added a clock graphic behind the clocks which helps a lot but adds fiddly work.

I am delivering a stack of thank you cards when I do my card making class tonight.

Card Club - February - Jalopy

I started with old dictionary pages.
To apply the color I applied 3 Tim Holtz Distress Stains to my acrylic plate. Walnut Stain, Antique Linen, and Faded Jeans.  I spritzed that with a bit of water.  I laid my page onto the plate and carefully removed it.  I set it aside to dry.  Once dry, they were flat again.

I ripped the edges to make them fit the card front.  I chose a blue green card which coordinated with the color on the printed page.  I applied a background with a brown marker before gluing down the dictionary page.

The greeting was color printed in the Early Espresso and Island Indigo on vellum and clear embossed.  It was trimmed close to the border.  It is held in place with a coordinating mini brad.

I cut the Tim Holtz Jalopy and Arrow Mover & Shaper dies from a warm brown textured card stock.  I adhered the Jalopy in the bottom right hand corner and the arrow in the top left hand corner.

I love to decorate my own paper.  This one turned out really nice.

Decorative Paper - Card Set 3

This bright bold paper was done with alcohol ink on an acrylic plate and picked it up with 4x6 photo paper.  I printed the large greeting on white then I cut the FRIEND word from it with the Stampin Up Little Letters Thinlits.  I adhered the alcohol background paper to a black card.  I added some black washi tape to the centre of the white.  I then added 3 sets silk flowers onto it held in place with tiny brads. I adhered the white greeting layer with 3D foam tape.

The decorative paper on this card was done with masking areas on white heavy bond paper with every day items.  The diamond shapes were done with a net material.  Other areas were spritzed with colored ink a bottle.  I placed a piece of aqua chevron washi tape on the left. I adhered it to a yellow card.  I placed a teal teapot cut with the Cricut and the Folk Art Festival cartridge.  I added a greeting punched with the Stampin Up Decorative Label punch.  I then placed an green one cut in half and offset on the back.

This card would be nice for a guy.  I used a piece of white heavy bond paper and sponged on acrylic paint in a variety of colors such as green, brown, tan and yellow.  I trimmed the paper to leave a small border on the black card.  I applied several lengths of black and white chevron washi tape in several directions.  I added a Tim Holtz Old Jalopy die cut in black. It is raised with 3D foam tape.

Card Club - Jalopy

This is the first card for Card Club today.  I cut some blue decorative paper with my Creative Memories is wavy cutter and then cut a colored layer leaving a small border.  This layer is glued to the card front on the right hand side. I cut the Jalopy with a Tim Holtz mover & shaper in black card stock.  The die cut is then mounted to the card front with 3D foam tape.  I color printed the greeting then punched it out with the Stampin Up Modern Label punch.  Then I punched another from black card stock.  The black one was cut in half lengthwise.  These halves are glued to the back of the greeting offset. This greeting is glued to the card front with 3D foam tape. I placed it horizontal over the curve of the blue piece.

I provided green, yellow, and orange solid layers in the kits I prepared for this class.
