Cards - Christmas SC Botanical

I thought I would use my SU Window Frame thinlits.  I was able to use the largest one!

A piece of Soft Sky as background with a strip of Chocolate Chip just off center.

The WeR Wildflower - Botanical DSP was cut and adhered with points instead of square. I added a Chocolate Chip smaller one with a gold square on that.

The central element is from the SU Keepsake Ornaments digital set which I colored with Chocolate Chip and Soft Sky. It was color printed onto ivory card stock then punched out with the 2" circle punch. Adhered with 3D foam tape.

White insert and dstape with carrier on the flap.

I got carried away on this one.
The Botanical DSP as the background, then the largest Window Frame from Soft Sky card stock, then a gold square measuring 3 inches adhered with 3D foam tape.

Then I cut a green frame by placing 2 dies on my magnetic mat and adhered that to the gold.

Then another square this time in Soft Sky adhered with 3D foam tape then finally the 2" focal element adhered to the square with double sided tape.

A white insert and a ds tape with carrier on the flap.

The botanical DSP as a background again.

I cut the Chocolate Chip with the TH Vintage Cabinet die and adhered it to the DSP.

I cut the Soft Sky with the TH Mini Cabinet Card which I wrapped with Chocolate Chip ribbon onto which I had sewn a Soft Sky button.  It was adhered with 3D foam tape

I added an Old Olive paper clip with bow onto the right hand side.

White insert and ds tape with carrier on the flap.

Ready 2 Go Christmas Stack Kit - Set 12

I started with the water color layer that I had leftover from this set of cards.

I printed my Bethlehem design onto vellum and embossed it with gold powder.  They were cut to 3.5 inches square.  It was aligned behind the hole in the layer created with the Stampin Up Window Frame thinlit and taped in place.

The vellum greeting was created in the same way as the Bethlehem.  I ripped the top and bottom edges.  It was layed across the water color layer and the ends pressed to the back and taped down.

The water color layer was mounted to the white card front with 4 pieces of 3D foam tape.

A quarter sheet insert with seasonal sentiment was adhered to the inside of the card.

I started with the Holy Family Ornament which I made for a project last year.  There were a few leftovers.

I chose to keep the card quite neutral to allow the ornament to shine.  I picked a kraft card base.

I added designer paper layer by Creative Imaginations - The Studio Barn.  It is just an ivory background with texture printed on it.  It is cut to 4.00 x 5.25 inches.

I added an cream and gold 1/8 th inch ribbon across the DSP layer with the ends tape to the back. I tied a short length to simulate a bow on the right hand side.

This layer was adhered to the card front.

I then mounted the ornament to the card front with 3D foam tape.

A quarter sheet insert with seasonal sentiment was adhered to the inside of the card.

R2Go Christmas Stack Kit - Dove & Joyful Watercolor

This card has portrait / tall orientation.

The Joyful layer was cut from a piece of printed card stock.  I used the Stampin Up Window Frame thin lits to cut the gold foil word with it's watercolor background in red and greens.  I then cut a layer of warm green card stock with one of the Sizzix Square thinlits which allows a nice border around the square on the watercolor diecut.  These are adhered together.

I chose a warm red card base onto which I adhered a length of gold metallic ribbon across the front and taped the ends to the inside of the card.  This repeats the gold in the accent.

The Joyful watercolor accent is adhered over the ribbon to the card front with 4 squares 3D foam tape.  I aligned it a bit to the left of center.

This is the same sketch but placed in the landscape or wide orientation.

I chose a white card base onto which I adhered a length of white satin ribbon with turquoise writing "Peace" printed at regular intervals. I taped the ends to the inside of the card.

The gold moire square was adhered behind the turquoise and gold dove Window Frame diecut.  This accent was adhered to the card front over the ribbon with 4 pieces of 3D foam tape.  I aligned it to allow me to see 2 full words.

Card Club - Jan - Plaid HB

This is a card for a guy.  I chose a bold navy and cream plaid DSP by Graphic45 - A Proper Gentleman Collection - Cultured Reserve.  I added a cream seam binding across the DSP and adhered it to the card front leave a bit of slack.  I then tied a short length to it in knot on the left.  I color printed the greeting on cream card stock and cut it with the Stampin Up Window Frame Framelits. I added a 2 3/8" square of navy card stock behind it.  This layer was then adhered to the card front with 3D foam tape.

Birthday Card Order - Set 1

I made several birthday cards for a friend.  She wanted cards for their sons and daughters.

Left: For this card I chose double sided designer card stock by Webster Pages called Winter Wonder and placed the fold at the top.  I cut the Spellbinder A2 Ribbon Threader die in white card stock.  I added a length of pink seam binding threaded through the slots, tied a knot and trimmed the ends.  I adhered that to the card front.  I then printed the greeting which features a background I designed with the sentiment in a shaded oval.  This was trimmed and adhered in the center of the die cut.

Right: I chose double sided designer paper in this hounds tooth type pattern by Authentique - Autumn
Three.  I selected a deep terracotta color for the card base.  I tied a piece of dark chocolate brown seam binding about the DSP before I adhered it to the card front.  The  knot was placed to the right so I could place the greeting on the left.  The greeting was designed with a digital rope oval frame into which I added the sentiment.  Once printed, I cut it with the Stampin Up Window Frame framelits.  I added a square (2 3/8") of the same card stock as the card behind.  This was mounted to the card front with 3D foam tape.

I started with a light green card base.  I cut a layer from the Winter Wonder DSP as I used in the first card.  I tied a piece of pink seam binding around the DSP aligned on the right side.  I then tied another piece onto it to make the bow. This was then adhered to the card front. I created a digital version of the pop bottle flower from this project.  I designed the greeting with the digital flower, an oval and the sentiment in dark grey with a frame. It printed and trimmed to the edge and mounted to the DSP layer to the left of the bow.

This card is made with the reverse side of the designer paper from card two on the same card stock.  I tied a piece of dark chocolate seam binding across the bottom third of the DSP then adhered it to the card front.  I then printed the greeting with a tree from CKLER.  I added the square measuring 2 3/8 inches of the color as the card.  This was adhered to the card front with 3D foam tape.

HB Trifold

I made another tri-fold card for a niece who is having a birthday this week.

I chose a deep warm green card.  I scored at 4.25 inches and then flipped it over then just over 3.5 so the center panel is just shy of the front.  Stampin Up Window Frame in the same as card with a square of pink to hilight the flowers.  I printed the SU greeting from Elementary Elegance printed in Regal Rose on Very Vanilla card stock.  Punched with the 1.75" circle punch.  I added a pink ribbon to keep the card closed.

I tucked a bit of something for her to contribute to her thrifty shopping.

R2G Cmas Stack Kit - Season of Style

I've been working on card kits for my Christmas Stack class on June 8, 2015.  I designed these cards on a One Sheet Wonder of designer paper.  I will post the details in the next post.

On this set of cards I used the Stampin Up Season of Style 4x6 DSP Pack. I used the Cherry Cobbler stripe and the large white dots on Crumb Cake.
I chose 3 different images and greetings. The greeting, the square behind the Window Frame die cut and the images on the Window Frame are all the same color.  On the red I put Always Artichoke layers and on the Crumb Cake I used Basic Black layers. The strips of card stock are half an inch wide.

I chose Cherry Cobbler/Bravo Burgundy, Night of Navy/Not Quite Navy, and Early Espresso/True Thyme for the cards.

The stamp sets I selected are: Calm Christmas, Keepsake Ornaments with Owl Occasions greeting and Come to Bethlehem.  I'm really happy with the set and the concept.  I will use it again.  I've used another set of DSP so check the next couple posts.

This set of cards was my first sample for a technique I am working on for Ready 2 Go card kits.  More about that in a later post.

The greetings are from Stampin Up - Come to Bethlehem, Calm Christmas, Snowflake Soiree and Owl Occasions.  I used a light blue card with a star designer paper.  I added a .75 inch strip across the centre. Diecut with Deco Label and Window Frame framelits.

HB - Windows Frame & Prima Flowers

I made this card for a friend celebrating a birthday today.

I started with a Stampin Up! So Saffron card base.  I cut a piece of striped Really Rust DSP with the Window Frames Collection Framelits.  I then cut a 3" square of copper metallic card stock which I placed behind the die cut aligning the corners.  I adhered these two the card front. I chose the Chocolate Chip marker and ink the birthday stamp in the Sincere Salutations set and stamped it in the bottom right hand corner.  I then used the fine end of the marker to add stitching around the copper square. I then, selected 2 Prima Flowers - a large light yellow and a smaller orange.  I then added a smaller rust and a smaller still handmade paper yellow one.  These were layered onto each other from smallest to largest.  They were placed in the center of the die cut and held in place with a dark brown brad.

Card Club - Oct - Butterfly

Today is card club and I have the luxury of being on vacation so I have just finished up the kits with plenty of time.

I have used one of the designer papers for the SLAB IV that many of us purchased years ago.  I have been waiting for a designer to work with this paper and this was it.  I started with an olive green card.  The acetate satin ribbon was a donation from one of the girls from card club a while back. It worked well in this design.  I cut 2 lengths, placed it on the designer paper layer, wrapped the ends over the top and bottom and taped the ends to the back.  This layer was glued to the card front.  I then assembled the accent.  I adhered the layers in this order. A 2" square of pink card stock, then a Stampin Up Deco Framelit aligning the corners, a large 2" oval punchie of the same designer paper and a pink butterfly punched with the Martha Stewart Large Butterfly.  This accent was attached to the card front over the ribbon with 3D foam tape.  The kits for class contain a variety of card colors including green, blue green and purple.

Card - Sympathy - Still more

Here are 2 more cards for those who have lost loved ones. This one for a friend Val who lost her son-in-law. The other for Mary the wife of a friend Brad who passed away.

I started with grey cards onto which I added a layer of designer paper in muted green tones.  I cut the pink card stock with the Stampin Up Window Frames framelits.  I then layered a square of green behind it.  I added several silk flowers and a silk leaf.  I placed a strip of the same green card stock toward to lower edge and added my sentiment which was color printed and punched with the Decorative Label punch.  This was mounted to the card front with 3D foam tape.

The next card is very similar.  This one has a yellow silk flower and a smaller light pink flower.
