Cards - Christmas - Red and Green Holly

I took time to make a few more Christmas cards before the craft room gets packed up to replace the flooring.

This paper is from the Season of Cheer collection.

I chose a Cherry Cobbler A2 card base and wrapped a length of Always Artichoke wide grosgrain ribbon across the paper widthwise.  Taped the ends to the back.

Adhered the DSP to the card front in the portrait orientation then mounted an oval greeting punchie over the ribbon with 3D foam tape.

A seasonal quarter sheet insert and white envelope.

My photo taking space was already put away so I had to improvise hence the lacy curtain.  Plants are usually on this space but they were temporarily displaced.

This is a DSP Split card with the same Cherry Cobbler card base.  I cut the DSP layer at 3.5 inches and flipped the bottom piece and taped them back together. I placed a red band of card stock over the join and taped it to the card front.

I added a scallop circle and color printed greeting over the ribbon with 3D foam tape.

A season sentiment on a quarter sheet insert and a white envelope.

The green color in this collection is Mossy Meadow but since I don't have card stock in that color I substituted Always Artichoke which worked well.

I wrapped the dark green grosgrain ribbon across the designer paper and taped the ends to the back.  It was then adhered to the card front with double sided tape.

I created a poinsettia accent using the 5 Petal Punch with Real Red card stock, a non shed gold glitter punchie, a red sequin all held with a gold tiny brad.

It was adhered to the card front with 3D foam tape.  Seasonal quarter sheet insert and an envelope.  Pressing over night and they are done!

Cards - Christmas - Snowflake

I need to make more Christmas cards.

I browse my designer paper and chose this 1 sheet from the Season of Cheer DSP set by Stampin Up. I believe this is mistletoe.

The color in this set is Mossy Meadow but I had Always Artichoke instead, also Soft Sky as card bases in the A2 size.

I added a length of Mellow Moss seam binding topped with Cool Caribbean narrow rick rack with all ends taped the the back of the designer paper. It was then adhered to the card front.

For the snowflake I punched a MS Snowflake and a Stampin Up one and layered them. I added a large white sequin in the center all held in place with a tiny blue brad.  This was adhered to the card front with a medium Zot.

I added 3 white sequins adhered with Bling Zots. A seasonal insert with a white envelope completes it.

The next card is a DSP Split where I cut the one piece at 3.5 inches and flipped the small piece over and tape them back together.  I taped it to the front of a Soft Sky card base.

I then punched a border with the Stampin Up Dotted Scallop Ribbon border punch in the same Soft Sky card stock.  It was adhered over the join in the DSP.

I found a large oval greeting with a color to match and adhered it over the border punch with 3D tape.

For this card I adhered the designer paper cut to 4.00 x 5.25 inches to the front of an Always Artichoke card base.

I added a strip of light blue across the card and trimmed the ends.

I added a snowflake accent make with the Martha Stewart large snowflake punch in 2 colors - white and blue.  All held with a tiny silver star brad with a silver sequin.

I added a greeting with a Word Window greeting in a similar blue color and mounted to a Modern Label punch in a similar green color.

This card is the opposite coloring to number 2.

Always Artichoke card base with a DSP Split piece of designer paper from the Season of Cheer set.

I used a border punchie in green this time to match with the card base.

I again chose a large oval greeting held in place with 3D foam tape.

A seasonal sentiment on a white insert and a white envelope.

A mirror copy of number 3 card with the alternate combination of colors.

This is Soft Sky card base with the same snowflake accent.

The greeting again is the same with the colors swapped.

A seasonal insert and white envelope.

Press overnight to ensure the tape sticks well

Great to have a few more cards in the box.

Christmas Cards - Teddy Bears

I found 2 Teddy Bear pages in my stash of old calendar pages. Here's the original post to the calendar.

Here's Teddy with the small Nativity set.  A gorgeous mercury glass tree in the background.

To create the card I chose Stampin Up Midnight Muse card stock for the base.

I cut a piece of Bashful Blue card stock with the Tim Holtz Cameo Frame die.  I trimmed the photo to 3 5/8 inches wide and 3 3/4 inches tall. I just love how well this works.

I added iridescent snowflakes with small white sequins held in place with navy star tiny brads at the top and bottom of the photo.

This was adhered to the card front.

I added a blank quarter sheet insert which should have had a sentiment.  I will stamp something.  A white envelope and it's done.

Here's the other Teddy photo.  Same mercury glass tree and a beautiful wire ball box which is meant to gift a memento.

The card base on this card is textured paper in a navy blue.

The layer is again Bashful Blue which was trimmed to leave a small border once the photo was trimmed to 3.75 inches square.

This layer was adhered to the front of the card.

I added an oval greeting adhered with 3D foam tape.

A quarter sheet insert and a white envelope.

Another couple added to the Christmas card box.

Card - Welcome Back

I made this card for a lady who has been away from work for a long time.  She has been battling for her life and has survived.

I am so glad to see her back at work.

I started with a Really Rust A2 card base and added 2 pieces of paste paper that I made a long time ago. The one on the left worked with the rusty color really well and the one on the right provide nice contrast.

I added a piece of Soft Suede ribbon wrapped around this layer and taped the ends to the back.   I adhered the whole piece to the card front with double sided tape.

The greeting was adhered with 3D foam tape over the ribbon and overlap in the decorative pieces of paste paper.

A quarter sheet insert and beige envelope finished it off.

Exchange Cards - July - Chrome Circles

I had these chrome circles with flowers inside in my stash.  I believe they are old earrings (when big earrings were a thing).   I have clipped off the hanger with my wire snips.

I punched a 2 inch circle from coordinating card stock which in this case is Garden Green.  I placed it behind and pushed holes through for the mini brads.

I chose a card base of Bashful Blue and scored it to create a tall card standing with fold at the top.

I wrapped Early Espresso seam binding around the card front and taped ends on the left hand side.  I adhered the metal circle with 3D foam tape over the place where the ends were taped.

I added strip of designer paper along the bottom edge of the card.

I chose an oval color printed greeting to match the card color and adhered that with 3D foam tape.

This card is just a swap of the Bashful Blue to the Garden green for the card base.

Bashful Blue 2" circle behind the chrome accent with mini brads in Bashful Blue, Garden Green and Early Espresso.

They are finished off with a blank quarter sheet insert on the inside with a white envelope.

Card Box - HB and Thank You

Another couple of cards for the box.

I started with designer paper from Echo Park called Hello Spring.  I paired it with a purplish Rich Razzleberry card base.

I added a length of Island Indigo 1/4" satin ribbon along the right hand side.  Taped the ends to the back. I added three deep teal and yellow handmade paper flowers on the left side adhered with tiny yellow brads.

This layer was adhered to the front of the card with double sided tape.  This ensures nothing showing on inside of the card.

The greeting is a Stampin Up Modern Label punchie color printed.  I added the deep purple punch split in half and adhered to the back offset a bit for it to show up.  This layer was adhered to the card front with 3D foam tape.

Ready for an August birthday.

The same paper was paired with a Rose Red card base this time.

I added a white grosgrain ribbon across the bottom third of a landscape oriented card.  Then ends taped to the back and then adhered to the card front.

I added an oval color printed greeting in Rose Red and chalked with the same color around the edges.  It was adhered to the card front with 3D foam tape.

Is resting in the Compassion House box for delivery a little later.

Cards - Thanks

Another few cards for Compassion House.

This is reusing a small thank you card. The words are silver foil.

I just swiped a bit of watercolor in yellow across the words. Then I paired it with a deep yellow card.

I added a yellow handmade paper flower in the top left hand corner held in place with a silver flower sequin and a silver tiny brad.

This layer was then adhered to the front of the card.

I reused a nature print I did a long time ago.  This is a maple leaf print using a variety of acrylic paints - brown, red, yellow and orange.  Once dry, I spritzed it with orange red watercolor.

I paired it with a warm red card base.  The nature print was adhered to the card front.

I added an oval color printed greeting in warm orange tones and punched out with the 2" oval.

A deep brown card with a designer paper layer of warm blue grey stripes. I wrapped a length of ivory grosgrain ribbon and tape the ends to the back. This was adhered to the card front.

I added the scallop circle greeting in ivory and warm blue grey.  The punches are all Stampin Up - scallop circle, 1 3/8 and 1 1/4 inch circles.  This was mounted with 3D foam tape.

I arranged the 3 hexagons and adhered with double sided tape.  Cut with the SB Hexagon Nestablities.

Thank You for Rescue

I made thank you cards for the friends and neighbours who helped me yesterday.  I ended up locked out of my place through my own inattention and needed rescuing.  Thanks for being willing to help, calling a locksmith and checking in on me while I waited. Expensive day.

This card is for the neighbor who stepped into action despite no knowing me and being new to the building.

Navy card, a wavy black remnant and some hexagon die cuts.

A Stampin Up Modern Label greeting adhered with 3D foam tape.

This card is for the friend who helped me unwind after my adventure.

A bright green card with yellow polka dot designer paper.

A ripped strip of blue with a floral accent.

A 2 inch oval greeting in the bottom right hand corner adhered with 3D foam tape that coordinates with the blue strip.

This card is for the neighbour who hung out while I waited for the locksmith.

Turquoise card with watercolor designer paper.

A large diecut flower accent held in place with 3D foam tape.

A Stampin Up Modern Label and Word Window greeting in the bottom right hand corner.

Thanks to the young locksmith K who came on a Sunday night.   There is still good in the world.

I started with a pink card.  I added a piece of blue handmade paper adhered with quick dry adhesive.  I added a piece of satin ribbon at the top held with tiny pink brads and white flower sequins.

I added 2 light pink hearts below the ribbon adhered with 3D foam tape.  They are punchies done with the Stampin Up Sweetheart punch.

Hopefully, it arrived on time.

Mother's Day Card

I made my Mom a card for Mother's Day.

I used paper strips in blues because that is her favorite color. I glued them inside a black color printed frame on the card front. Most they were trimmed to 1" wide or less. I added a length of blue rick rack along the top adhered with Quick Dry Adhesive.

I added an oval greeting with 3D foam tape above a piece of floral designer paper in the bottom right hand corner.

Cardmaking - CH - Class 5

Style 2 - Designer Paper Split.  I bought these 12x12 glitter papers together but don`t have a designer or manufacturer.

This is very versatile paper in that it has lots of colors.  The bottom piece is cut 4 inches wide by 3.5 inches tall.  The top piece is cut 4 inches wide and 1.75 tall.  These are taped together on the back.

I added a kraft ribbon over the join which was taped to the back.  This layer was then adhered to the front of a nice pink card.

The greeting was printed with colors from the designer paper.  It was punched with the 2 inch oval and adhered to the card front with 3D foam tape.

I created kits with kraft card and pink ribbon and green card with red ribbon.

Style 3 - Square - The ornament element is 3.25 inches square.  It was adhered to a 3.5 inch red layer which coordinated well with the ornament color. Creating a hole with a push pin, I added a clear crystal brad in the center and pressed the prongs apart on the back.

I chose a deep burgundy card which matched well with the background color on the accent.  I glued a piece of gold moire paper to the card front leaving a small border.

I wrapped a piece of gold ribbon around the card front and taped the ends to meet under the accent layer.

The accent layer was then adhered over the ribbon with 3D foam tape aligned with even borders top, left and bottom.

Style 8 - This card was designed with Stampin Up elements.  I chose a Garden Green card base.

The diagonal stripe designer paper is from the Be of Good Cheer DSP set.  It was cut to leave a small border of card color.

I cut a 6 inch length of Cherry Cobbler Tulle and wrapped it around the DSP in the bottom third of the layer and taped the ends to the back.

The greeting was created with ivory metallic card stock cut with one of the SU Apothecary Framelits.  It is attached to the card front over the tulle with 2 tiny green brads on the bumps on the right and left sides. The greeting was color printed and punched with the SU Word Window and mounted to the label with 3D foam tape.

The designer paper layer was then adhered to the card front.

The felt wreath is from the Stampin Up Stitched Felt Winter Wishes Embellishment Set.  I added a Cherry Cobbler bow made from thread which is held in place with a Bling Zot.  The wreath was attached above the tulle with Scotch Quick Dry Adhesive.

Birthday Card - Olive and Chocolate

I made a couple of masculine cards.  This is coordinated designer paper in chocolate brown and olive green.   It features red, orange, vanilla triangles.

I cut the brown layer to 2.25 inches by 5.25 inches tall.  It was adhered to the left on the olive card base.  I added green piece measuring 3.75 inches square.  I layered it toward the top of the card.

I mounted a small oval greeting in the bottom right hand corner.

I punched balloons with the Martha Stewart Balloon punch from the brown paper.  I added black thread strings to the balloons.  I adhered the balloons with 3D foam tape.

I made this card as a DSP Split.  I cut the green to 3.25 x 5.25 inches. The green is cut to 3.00 x 5.25 inches. These were taped into a single piece at the back with tape.

I adhered the designer paper layer onto the olive green card. I placed a piece of brown grosgrain ribbon across the joint and taped the ends to the inside of the card.

I added an oval greeting on the right hand side with 3D foam tape.  A couple more for my depleted stash.

Christmas Card Challenge - May - Oval/Black

The challenge for the May Christmas Card Challenge was Oval and Black.

I chose some Anna Griffin designer paper featuring ornaments.  It has various neutral colors in greys, warm whites, and river rock.
I chose black for the card base, cut the ornament paper to leave a small border.

I added a length of black grosgrain ribbon across the bottom of the decorative layer taping the ends to the back.  I adhered it to the card front.

The black oval greeting was printed on river rock card stock.  It was then punched with the 2 inch oval paper punch.  It was adhered with 3D foam tape.

Card Club - February - DSP Split

This is a classic Designer Paper Split.  I chose paper by Authentique - Remembrance - Remembrance Three which had an ivory background and a rich green and purple mosaic pattern.

I cut the sheet of 12x12 paper into rectangles 5.25 x 4.00 inches.  Then I cut them again at 3.5 inches.  I flipped the larger piece to reveal the stripes.  I then taped these back together on the back.

I added a length of ivory grosgrain ribbon across the join and taped the ends to the back.

This layer was adhered to the front of a green card leaving a small border.

The greeting was color printed then punched with a large 2 inch oval punch.  It was adhered over the ribbon with 3D foam tape.

2016 Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop

I'm back into joining challenges now that I am done with craft sales for this season.

I lost the link to this challenge when Blogger made their changes in September.  It's been a challenge to say the least to try and remember what I had save over the years.  I found it just in time.

I found this image on Vintage Cup blog.  I love it so I downloaded it, added a copper border and I printed it onto photo paper.  I trimmed it close to the border.
I then selected card stock in a coordinating copper color.  I trimmed that to leave a small border and  embossed it with the Sizzix D'vine Swirl embossing folder. I adhered it to the front of a coordinating purple card.
I chose a greeting I designed myself and colored with the purple and copper.  Once printed, I punched it out with the 2" oval punch.  The greeting was adhered to the card front with 3D foam tape.  I mounted it below the negative space in the tea image.

Sympathy Cards

A dear friend passed away this week.  She lived a good life and celebrated her 93rd birthday this summer. Her three daughters were with her before she passed.

I made sympathy cards for my friend who lost her mother and my other friend who lost her grandmother.

The designer paper comes from K&Company and the adhesive borders are by the same company.  I did not find name for the collection.  I chose one of the papers and cut it to 5.25x4.00 inches.  I ripped a piece from the top third and adhered the pieces to the top and bottom of the card base.  The adhesive borders matched quite well except that they had white backgrounds. I applied some Tim Holtz Antique Linen distress stain which did just what I needed.  The borders were 12 inches to I cut them to 4" each.  I adhered the border to the left then added a silk flower and handmade paper flower held in place with a deep rose brad. I added a deep rose ribbon behind the flower accent then trimmed the ends.  I color printed greetings on ivory card stock and rubbed the edges with the TH Antique Linen distress stain.  They are adhered to the card front with 3D foam tape.
The second card has a lighter handmade flower and a green brad.

Sympathy Cards - DSP Split

I made sympathy cards for ladies whose Dad passed away recently and the funeral is today.

It's basic designer paper split.  DSP cut to 4.00x5.25 then cut again at 3.5 inches. The smaller paper turned over and taped back together.  I placed a piece of pink seam binding across the join and taped end to the back.  The layer was attached to the pink card front.  The greeting was color printed the punched with the a Large Oval punch then mounted to the card front with 3D foam tape.

I had this set of sympathy cards in reserve so those are going to his companion.

Nifty Notes will be included with the sympathy card for the girls.

Card Club - April - Masculine

We have a masculine card next.

The bird images are from Graphics Fairy.  They were printed onto kraft card stock. A layer of solid card stock was then trimmed to leave a small border.  The piece of caramel seam binding is taped to the back of the colored piece then adhered to the kraft card front.  Then the left hand piece of ribbon is pulled across to the right and the bird layer is adhered over it to the left side of the card with 3D foam tape.  The seam binding is then knotted and the ends trimmed.

The second card has a green layer and greeting.  I did not align my ribbon to allow me to tie a knot so I just cut them at an angle.  I added a small oval greeting in the top right hand corner.

HB - Pink and Blue

I made this card for a friend who celebrated a birthday recently and I'm seeing her today.

I started with the Stampin Up Winter Bright DSP, which I chose the strips.  I then cut a layer of Bashful Blue textured and adhered it to the card front.  I then adhered the 3.25" square piece of DSP to the top half of the layer.  I cut a flower from Pretty in Pink with the Blossom Party die.  I cut a butterfly from Bashful Blue and layered it onto the flower.  I stamped the sentiment from the Perfect Punches stamp set in Garden Green on Whisper White.  I cut it out by hand because my extra large oval punch has stopped punching.  I mounted it to the card front with 3D foam tape.
