Recent Snapshots

Here is a few flowers I captured on my walk this morning.  The left is a nice yellow speckled flower. Is it a lily?   The pink center one is a Cosmos.  There was a full bed of them it was great to pick out a few for photos. The right is a nice purple color but again I do not know it's name.

I took a trip to the country to celebrate my aunt's birthday.  We spent some time on Saturday at a local fair which is so much different that city events.
My aunt's husband was driving this truck in the parade with one of the many local celebrities.  We watched the parade go by and the kids caught a lot of candy.

We visited the local museum.  I captured this old camera used in the 1920's by a local person and it was donated by his family.

It is a Kodak as indicated on the metal support which locks the camera closed when put away.

It features leather, metal and wood resulting in a quality product.

The blue jay was having a great time in the bird bath.  As you can see the water splashing a lot.  I love how I captured the water drops.

He came out with a spiky hair do!

Pick Up Truck Cards - Exchange

I made a couple more cards with the Stampendous Truck Tidings Stamp & Die set.  I watercolored them this time and I am happier with the look.  I gold embossed the truck and tree then painted them.  I used red, black and grey on the truck. Green, blue, pink and purple on the tree. I designed a road with grass along the edge.  The road is a grey box with a dotted line. I place grass along the edges with a grass clipart from Pixabay.  This layer was color printed and then trimmed. I then watercolored a sky with some blue. I adhered it to a green card front. I stamped the greeting and gold embossed and punched it with the Stampin Up Artisan punch.  I added a bit of holly below the greeting.  It was adhered to the card front with 3D foam tape.  These cards are headed to my card exchange buddies.

Birthday Card - Pick Up Truck

I made a birthday card for a little boy having a birthday this month.  I used the Stampendous - Truck Tidings Cling Stamps & Die Set.  I stamped the truck in black Versafine then clear embossed it.  I used pencil crayons to color it.  Not the best choice as the edges are raised. I diecut the truck with the corresponding die.
I printed the greeting on a white piece of card stock and trimmed to leave a small border.
I printed the letters on another piece of white and trimmed them to squares.  I used pencil crayons to give each box a colored border.
I mounted the letters to be in the back of the pick up truck.  I think this will be a great set going forward.

Card Club - March - Pick Up Truck

I wanted a card for guys.  I chose this striped designer paper in some great colors.  I chose cards in green as show, royal blue and a deep orange. I adhered the striped paper to the card front. I created the banner with the Stampin Up Triple Banner punch.  The white strip is 1" and the blue one is 1.5 inches.  Once they were adhered together I placed it on the card front and trimmed the top end to the card edge. I then adhered the pick up truck image to the navy blue layer. This was then adhered over the banner. I placed 3 sticky embellishments on the right hand side.

Card Club - October - Vintage Vehicles

I started wanting to do embossed metal.  I applied foil tape to card stock and brayered it down.  I then cut it to card sized pieces and embossed them with folders.  I wanted gears but could not find it so I used this one which is Timepiece by Couture Creations. I wrapped a piece of grosgrain ribbon around the layer and taped the ends to the back.  I then glued this layer to the card front.  I then used a push pin to make 3 holes for the brads.  I inserted screw head brads in brush silver in the holes and press apart the prongs on the inside of the card.  Great card for a guy.

For the kits is used the Circles by Cuttlebug for the car and Diamond Plate for the pick up trucks.

Card - Photo - First Try

The cleaning up continues and I am excavating relics from months ago.  Here are my first attempts at these photo cards.  I think these deserve a second look so I'll put that on the project pile.

The photos are being upcycled from mix ups on printing my 2012 4x6 photo calendar. I trimmed the top of the calendar to 4"x4" and then cut a Spellbinder Label 9 in the coordinating pink card stock then trimmed it to match the width of the photo. I have added a color coordinating color printed Stampin Up Word Window greeting.  On the truck on the bottom part is a TH On the Edge Ornate die in maroon to match the pick up truck.

Card Club - Transportation

This is a nod to the transportation theme which is likely popular with most of the males in our lives.  Trucks, cars, planes, etc in wonderful primary colors of red, blue, yellow, orange, and black.  I chose to keep the yellow border and the green ribbon and black thread consistent.  I chose the card to match the dominant vehicle in the designer paper.  The DP was cut 5.25x 3.  The yellow border was made with a Fiskars - Upper Crest border punch, which was adhere just below the DP.  I added green gross grain ribbon and taped the ends into the inside of the card.  I wrapped a black thread twice around and knotted it on the front and trimmed its ends.

Card Club - Feb - Pick Up Truck

Here's a happy little card.  I matched the card to the color of the pick up truck. The silver background was embossed with the Cuttlebug Polka Dots folder and glued to the card front. I determined the placement of the road and glued it down and trimmed it.  The truck was then placed on the road.  I added the tree on the left and tucked it's truck behind the road. The sun was placed in the top right hand corner.
The truck and sun were cut with the Cricut and the Just Because Cards cartridge and the tree with the Paper Dolls Dress Up cartridge. These were assembled with patience and some quick dry glue.  The road was cut with my Creative Memories wavy cutter and I used a white opaque marker to make the line in the center.

R2G Card Kit - Kid Cards - Pick Up Truck

I'm working on Ready 2 Go Card Kits for the sale this weekend.  I wanted some cards which would work for kids Christmas cards or Thank Yous for after the celebrations!  I selected the card to match the truck color.  I embossed the silver background with the Cuttlebug Polka Dots embossing folder.  I ripped a snowbank for the bottom of the card.  The truck was cut with the Cricut and the Just Because Cards cartridge.  I the truck in blue, red, yellow and green. The tree was cut with the "Paper Dolls - Dress Up cartridge in deep green cardstock. I added a Martha Stewart snowflake punch in the corner.  These should be fun for kids to put together.

Simple Card - Red Pick Up Truck

Here's another simple card. This one has a Cuttlebug embossing folder that looks like a steel plate done in grey cardstock. The red pickup truck is color printed and cut out. The greeting accent was created with a Cuttlebug slider in black, a 1 1/8" red circle and a stamped greeting punched in 1" circle. This greeting came from a Michael's $1.50 clear stamp set but I've used it quite a bit. The accent is placed onto the ribbon and turned into the inside of the card then stapled into place.
