Father's Day Card

These supplies are from an old card kit.

The card base is Soft Suede with a rectangular piece of teal designer paper.  It was adhered on an angle and then it was trimmed to the card edge.

I added some leaves cut with the Tim Holtz Tattered Leaves die.  Two in Soft Suede and one gold one.

I added a Stampin Up Decorative Label greeting with color printed words.  I used SU chalks to softly color the greeting in the right colors.  I punched a Soft Suede label which I cut in half and off set behind the greeting.

A card to let my Dad know how much I appreciate him.  I am so glad he is still here with us.

Father`s Day Card

Update: I got the date of Father's wrong. It is on June 21st.

I used a sample from one of my card kits I made early this month.  I had to add a tree because Dad was a carpenter.

This is the Angled Rectangle layout.

I cut a tree with the Hampton Arts stamp and die set.  I cut one in green and one in grey for a highlight behind.

Adhered with 3D foam tape.  Greeting with offset is a Decorative Label punch from Stampin Up.

I am sure it arrived on time.

I created a collage of tools for Father's Day.  I used a wood grain piece of designer paper as the background.

My Dad was a carpenter in his younger days so I associate wood with him.  I have a hand saw that means my needs, a pink hammer replaced the heavy one Dad gave me when I left home,  the green multi bit screwdriver that I have had had since I was in my 20's and other things from my tools drawer.

I like to manage as much around my place as I can so I have acquired the tools to get the basics done.

I appreciate my Dad very much and was not able to spend the day with him due to COVID19. I called him and had a visit.

Card Club - May - Nautical Father's Day

I trimmed the cards to 3.75 x 5.00 inches.  I chose a blue card which coordinated with one of the colors in the decorative card stock.  I color printed the greetings in navy on white and punched them out with the Stampin Up Decorative Label punch. I then punched another label from navy card stock.  It was cut in half cross wise.  I trimmed the points from the center cut then adhered the navy halves to the back of the greeting offsetting them on the right and left hand sides.  This greeting accent is adhered to the card front with 3D foam tape aligned on the line of chain on the decorative layer.

The alternative is to cut your label lengthwise and offsetting them top and bottom instead.

I could have placed my label horizontally  across the navy stripes and make the orientation landscape wide instead of portrait tall.

Card - Father's Day

I made this card for my Dad. It turned out funkier than I wanted.  I chose my designer paper then the green card.  I wanted to use these large metal brads.  I cut a blue piece with a framelit from the Stampin Up! Apothecary set. I like the way the brad fits the curvy end of the diecut so well. I punched the left hand side with a Fiskars Notebook border die and I ripped the right hand edge.  I evenly spaced the brads on the blue piece which I rubbed with Chocolate Chip ink pad. I tucked the left end of my acetate greeting under the blue diecut.

Card Club - May - Father's Day Hexagons

I see that I got carried away with landscape cards and flag ends this month.  Here's another.
I started with a great colored muted grey brown card. I printed a Stampin Up! Bunch of Backgrounds - sanded background onto the card in Early Espresso. I cut the hexagons with the Spellbinder Nestabilities in a variety of designer papers. This is a great scrap buster technique. I printed the greetings on taupe card stock in Early Espresso.  I flagged the end of the greeting and placed the other end under the 5th hexagon.  I made kits with green and blue themes to give a good variety.  Birthday greetings were also included.

Card Club - Sail Boat

One of the card today is for Father's Day!  The sail boat was cut with the Cricut with the Just Because Cards cartridge. Using three layers, navy, white and red.  I used the same colors in the greeting which was color printed and trimmed to the border.  I used a nice soft blue designer paper for the background. A strip of the same navy is placed behind the greeting. I offered several alternate greetings.

Card Club - May - Father's Day

Father's Day is soon! Are you sending yours a card? I am.
On this card I used a leaf image I designed myself several years ago when I was screen printing on cardstock. Now the color printer can do the same effect with less mess. The cardstock is Always Artichoke from Stampin Up! I'm finding I am using that color a lot lately. The acetate greeting allowed my girls to add the greeting or not. The scrapbook paper was very versatile allowing quite a few color options for accent and card.
