Card - Heart Tea Cup

Another card for the Coffee Loving Cardmaker Spring and Summer Blog Hop.

I chose a 4x4 photograph from my 2018 photo tea calendar.  I trimmed it to 3.75 inches square.

I added a piece of gold metallic card stock behind the photo.

I chose a bright green card to match the tea cup in the photo.

I wrapped a piece of deep pink seam binding around the front of the wide card and knotted and trimmed the ends.

The tea layer was adhered to the card front with 3D foam tape.

Recent Photos

We celebrated the first Sunday of Advent this week.  I put out my Advent Wreath which are a set of 4 glass vases with crackle glass votive holders.

The bottom of the vase is filled with glass marbles and the candle in placed inside the holder.

The vases are place on a glass charger plate with the space around covered in frosted glass marbles.

I did not manage to find colored votive candles this year so they are all white.

It was Dad's 88th birthday this week so I was home on the weekend  to celebrate with 17 others for a great time with food and family.
I am still on the hunt for winter barn photos so I stopped several times on Sunday to take photos.  This one was well situated, not too many distractions but the sun refused to come out from behind the clouds so the image is not as great as it could have been.  It was 20 minutes down the road before the sun came out.  I'm glad I did not wait.

I caught good light on this building.  It is not a barn unfortunately but the snow was sparkling and the eves of the building were bright.

The clouds in the background were heavy on the horizon.  The fence posts provide some elements in the fore ground.

I dug out the Christmas Tea for my afternoon snack.

It is a black tea from Epicure which I purchased a while back.  It was good with a bit of honey and milk.

I had a mince meat tart which is one of my favorites with a little whipped cream.  Some tea biscuits with Black Current jelly.  These were left overs from our card making & quilting women's group get together on Monday night.  We sang songs, played a couple of games and had good fellowship with good finger food.

My photo calendars are available for purchase.  This is the Nice Cuppa one which features tea cups and mugs in the 2018 photo calendar.

You can check out my Calendar Page for details.

The Miniature Show reception was held on Friday evening.  The show runs to December 23rd.

I have my photo calendars on the first row of the display.

Christmas cards on the next couple of rows.

Fridge Calendars in both English and French versions on the bottom row featuring flower, nature and tea photos.

Photo Calendar - Rural

The Ready2Give Half Sheet photo calendar features rural scenes.

The calendar is printed 2 half sheets at a time on a letter sized piece of white card stock.  Each calendar page is 5.5 W x 8.5 T inches with the calendar on the bottom with a 3.5 x 5.00 inch photo at the top.

I punch a hole at the top of the calendar with my Crod-a-dile which easily allowed me to do all 12 sheets at one time to ensure they are all lined up.

This allows hanging on a nail, straight pin or push pin.  A binder clip could also be added to hang it with a magnet.

I selected photos from my collection.  The front photo is barn in winter which gives a nice calm scene for the first month of the year.

The scenes include hale bales, Rocky Mountains, canola field, lake reeds, Japanese bridge, power structures, Pigeon Lake docks, wheat, canola rows, a sunset, and evergreen lined lane.

Photo Calendar - Flowers 2

I created a second Ready2Give half sheet calendar featuring flower photos.

The front photo is cosmos in nice pink to brighten the first month of the year.

The flowers include cosmos, dahlia, yellow rose, flax, zinnia, wild geranium, AB rose, sunflower, poppy, and poinsettia.

Photo Calendar - Landscapes and Flowers

I received an order for a 2018 Photo Calendar - Ready2Give Half Sheet with flower and landscape photos.

With a sale at the end of the week I will make a few more.

I created the calendar and then printed it 2 sheets at a time on a letter sized piece of white card stock.  Each calendar page is 5.5 W x 8.5 T inches with the calendar on the bottom with a 3.5 x 5.00 inch photo at the top.

I punched a hole at the top of the calendar with my Crod-a-dile which easily allowed me to do all 12 sheets at one time to ensure they were all aligned.

This allows hanging on a nail, straight pin or push pin.  A binder clip could also be added to hang it with a magnet.

I selected photos from my collection to fit the bill.  The front photo is a country lane in winter.  The flowers include dahlia, wild geranium, AB rose, sunflower, poppy, and poinsettia. The landscapes are a barn in winter, Rocky Mountains in Canmore, field of hay bales, rows of canola, and dock at Pigeon Lake.

2018 Nice Cuppa Calendar

I have a Nice Cuppa calendar this year which features wonderful cups.  It includes bone china tea cups, porcelain mugs, earthenware mugs, and ironstone tea cups.  I decided to put the cups up front this year.  I chose items to support the cups as needed.  My collection is small but all are pieces I really love.  Tea is my drink of choice but these vessels can hold coffee or hot chocolate as well.  I have enjoyed the hours of pondering the cup and how to make it shine. I chose flowers, books, table linens, candles and leaves to create a photo that was appealing.

Check out my Calendar Page to find the details.

2018 Nature Calendar

My 2018 Nature photo calendar filled with animals, insects, birds, and other examples of nature in the world.   I have been able to get a few good bird photos, a bison photo and some cute creatures as well.  I have taken quite a few trips to the national park, many trips to the wetlands and kept a keen eye out for movement in my world.  Some of these just turn their backs on me every time I try to photograph them.  Others are curious but wary.  I have had a great good time working on this calendar.  I hope many find it a great gift idea.

Check out my Calendar page for details.

2018 In Bloom Calendar

This is another photo calendar for 2018.  I collected 12 of my floral images from my collection.  I just love taking pictures of flowers. They provide my world with color, texture, and wonder.  These are all macro photos which brings the beauty front and center.  I resisted putting seasonal flowers on particular months with the exception of December.

Check the details on my Calendar page.

2018 Teddy Bear Calendar - Debut

I have one 4x6 photo calendar ready!  I photographed this cute teddy bear in a few scenarios to create a cute calendar for 2018.  There are 12 month pages and one index page.  Some months feature seasonal themes. I have one for each of  Valentine's, Easter, Mother's Day, Father's Day, Remembrance Day and Christmas.  The others cover the beach, gardening, and games night.

I am donating this one to a baby basket for a silent auction being held at a Women's Retreat next weekend.  It will be great to mark the first year of a baby's life.  It is presented in a nice silver metal frame which would look nice on a dresser in the baby's room.

You will find it available on my Calendars page.
