Christmas Card - Gold Ornaments

I started with a 4 inch square die cut featuring gold Christmas ornaments.  The colors are grey blues, vanilla and gold.

I chose a half inch organza ribbon in gold and vanilla and a blue grey card.

I punched slots in the square 2 at the top and one at the bottom.  I threaded the ribbon through the top bottom behind back to the front at the bottom up the back on the inside of the card, back to the front down into the top slot and tied the ribbon in a square knot.  The ends were trimmed with scissors.

I added a fabric vanilla snowflake in the top right hand corner with a Zot.

Congratulations Card

I made this card for a baby shower I am attending on the weekend.
I started with a Stampin Up Night of Navy card.  I created the white spatter layer with a Night of Navy reinker, a drop of water and a toothbrush onto white photo paper.  I cut the large scallop at the top from Old Olive card stock with the SU Sizzix Big Shot Large Scallop Edgelits Die.  I wrapped a piece of Grosgrain Stitched ribbon in the NofN color. This layer was adhered aligned along the top of the card. I've placed 2 tiny white brads on either end to keep them adhered to the card front. I placed 2 lengths of Old Olive Washi Tape from the Santa & Co. Designer Series across the bottom third of the card.  I stamped the greeting in NofN onto white with the congratulations one from the Perfect Punches set. It is adhered to the card front with 3D foam tape.  I adhered 3 buttons in Old Olive with Zot along the right edge of the white layer.

Card Club - May - Daisy

I cut my decorative card stock to 3.75" x 5" and punched the corners with a corner rounder.  I chose several colors of card stock for these card kits.  This one is a warm dark green.  I placed a piece of orange grosgrain ribbon across the bottom 1/3 of the decorative piece.  I taped the ends to the back. This layer was then adhered to the card front. I punched the daisies with a large punch from coordinating aqua card stock. The white is just the back side of the aqua card stock. The daisy accent is adhered over the ribbon.  The white pearl button is adhered to the flower with a Zot. The colors of card in the kits are aqua and orange along with this dark green.

This card has the orange card base with a coordinating orange button in the middle of the flower.  I've decided to use in the tall portrait orientation as well.  Great versatility.

Card Club - Jan - Felt Buttons

This is a cute and playful card.
I selected 2 felt buttons in 2 sizes, the large in teal and smaller in green.  I tied them together with white shimmery fiber.  I then added a Zot in the back.  I selected a dark teal card.  I cut my white layer to 4.00" x 5.25" and then embossed it with the Cuttlebug A2 Happy Birthday folder.  I glued the greeting embossed layer to the card front then adhered the felt button accent in the top left hand corner.

Some kits have the pink and purple version of buttons as well as the Cuttlebug A2 Thanks Words folder.

Birthday Card Order - Set 2

The focal element on this card is the designer paper by Karen Foster named My Granda, My Hero Collage Paper.  I chose a layer of light blue behind the paper to which I glued the ripped DSP.  I added this layer to the dark warm blue card base.  I printed the greeting and punched it with the Stampin Up 1 1/4 inch circle punch and then glued it to a 1 3/8 dark blue circle.  The greeting was adhered to the card front with 3D foam tape.

This card is very similar except of orientation in portrait and the layer is grey.

I used leftovers pieces of designer paper from a calendar project last year.  I trimmed the strips of designer paper in patterned and lavendar colors.  I rounded the bottom ends with a circle punch.  I adhered them directly to the the green card front.  I added a length of ribbed ivory ribbon across the bottom half and taped the ends to the inside of the card.  I added a canvas flower held in place with Zots.  I then cut a button from lavender card stock and added thread to the holes.  The button was then added to the center of the flower with a Zot.  I printed a greeting in lavender and trimmed close to the border then adhered it to the card front with 3D foam tape.

This card is similar with the same family of designer paper in warm pinks.  It features a green layer between the DP and the soft green card base.

R2G Card Kits - SU - Wonderful Wreath

Another Ready2Go Card Kit for a kid's Christmas Party!

This set has a Stampin Up True Thyme card base.  I used the Wonderful Wreath Stamp Set with the wreath in True Thyme.  The greeting in Riding Hood Red.  I added a RHRed Tafetta Ribbon bow held in place with a Zot.  This is such gorgeous ribbon, it ties beautifully and lies flat which makes a card which can easily be mailed.

Ready2Go Card Kits - SU - Letter to Santa Buttons

The last set of card kits for this project.
I selected two papers from the Letters to Santa Designer paper set.  The top is large bold words in Early Espresso on white and the bottom was Early Espresso background with diamond pattern in Old Olive.  I cut the bottom to 4.00" W x 3.5" T and the top to 4.00" W x 1.75" T.  I taped these together so they became one piece and then adhered the Old Olive Striped grosgrain ribbon over the join ensuring good adhesion where the button will be placed. I taped the ends to the back.  I adhered this to the card front.  I selected the Brushed Bronze buttons into which I tied a length of Old Olive grosgrain ribbon and trimmed the ends.  I adhered the button to the card front with a large Zot.

Vertical Greeting Tag

I had made this card as a sample for card club and when it came time to make up the kits I decided to not go ahead for these reasons: the die cut alignment, the banner alignment and the juvenile color scheme of the card.  I could have worked with the different papers to improve the scheme but decided to just replace it.

This card is white with a purple gingham designer paper layer on the front.  I created the tag with the new Stampin Up Triple Banner punch.  I chose a piece of solid card stock in purple which coordinated with the designer paper.  I placed my Tattered Lace Vertical Greeting dies on my magnetic cutting pad.  Placed my card stock and ran it through the Big Shot.  I adhered the greeting layer to the back white banner.  Then I put a hole in the top and ran a piece of white fiber through.  I adhered the banner greeting to the card front with 3D foam tape. I then placed a trio of buttons to the left.  They are held in place with Zots.

R2G Occasion Card Stack Kit - Vellum HB Banner

Here's the last card in the Ready 2 Go Occasion Stack kit.  The main element is a vellum birthday greeting.  I color printed them and embossed with clear powder.  Works great.  I cut them to .75" tall and 5.5 inches wide.  I cut the designer paper square to 3.75" and the neutral card stock behind to 4" square.  These are layered then adhered to the card front on the left leaving a small border.  The vellum greeting is tacked with a bit of adhesive on the left where it will be covered by the button.  The button has fiber threaded through the holes and knotted and trimmed.  It is adhered to the card front over the vellum with a Zot. The right hand end of the greeting was flagged with scissors.  Great card and easy to put together.

Again depending on the designer paper and the style of greeting can be for a guy or a gal. I used a scripty font and a all caps font.  Again, recipients will get a variety of colors, designer paper and greetings.

Watercolor & Vellum HB

I started with an ombre background made on watercolor paper, Stampin Up More Mustard Watercolor Wonder Crayon and an Aqua Painter brush. I selected a Night of Navy card.  I stamped my images on vellum in hopes of not losing too much of my ombre background.  The You're Amazing Happy Birthday and the flowers from the In the Spotlight stamp set were stamped in NofN and clear embossed. I find I'm using my heat gun more, now that it is always plugged in and near at hand.  The greeting was just trimmed straight and adhered to the WC background on the left hand side. I layered a strip of So Saffron card stock over the watercolor paper edge on the left. The flowers were punched with the Five Petal punch and adhered to the card front with Zots.

I'm submitting this card to the following challenges:

Card Club - March - Birthday Wish

I created the white greeting layer and then color printed.  I trimmed it to 3.75 x 5.00 inches.  I had placed my Stampin Up Little Letters thinlits as I wanted them on my magnetic platform.  I placed registration marks as to where the corners needed to be aligned.  I put wax paper between my card stock and the dies so they would fall out easily. With this prepared cutting went really well.  I then placed a small piece of copper metallic paper behind the cut out word.  This layer was then adhered to the card front.  I then placed 3 copper sequins to the card with mini Zots.  I provided some kits with silver foil paper and silver sequins for behind the word.

Christmas Stack Class - Poinsettia

I started with the glitter plaid designer paper.  I cut it with the Stampin Up! Top Note die.  I selected a velvet ribbon which was wrapped across the top note and the ends are taped to the back.  I have added a Zot to the back of the ribbon keep the centre stuck to the glitter paper.  I punched the poinsettia with the SU Five Petal punch in red and green.  I added a gold flower sequin to the centre which holds the poinsettia to the card.
The card on the left is a red card with a black greeting printed on the left side.  The top note is adhered to the right hand side.  The poinsettia is real red with old olive card stock with a moss green velvet ribbon.
The card on the right is an ivory card with color printed background in Always Artichoke. The glitter top note is centered on the card.  There is an ivory velvet ribbon with an ivory and always artichoke poinsettia with the same gold sequin.

Christmas Stack Class - Country Christmas

I started with a piece of double sided decorative paper with red &  white chevron with a tomato red on the back.  It was cut it at 5.25 x 4.00 inches then cut at 4" then then small piece is turned over and the pieces are taped together on the back.  This layer is glued to the white card. The greeting is printed in the color which coordinates with the accent. The accent of ornament or tree is added to the front and then the greeting is glued over the split, then it is trimmed to the card edge.  The button is adhered to the greeting with a Zot.
The accents of the ornament (navy) and tree (green) were created with white acrylic paint, card stock and a splatter tool. The navy ornament is cut with the Stampin Up! ornament punch.  I wrapped a piece of white string around the hanger and knotted it to the front. I taped a piece of string at the split to behind the ornament, then glued the ornament to the card front.

The tree is cut with the Sizzix yellow tree die.  The tree is adhered to the card front positioned toward to bottom of the card.  Rip the snowbank from the piece of white card stock.  Glue the snowbank over the tree trunk and trim to the card edges.

Challenge - Vintage Christmas

I made this card for the June Christmas All Year Round Card Challenge which is Vintage.  I found this image of girl with snow falling down at the Old Design Shoppe.  The colors were less traditional with subdued greens, teal and rose pink.  I put it on a muted green card. I embossed a pink layer with a Cuttlebug snow folder from the Winter Set which does the top left hand side.  I printed the vintage card on white and ripped the edges.  I daubered the edges with Tim Holtz Antique Linen.  I added 3 coordinating buttons in the bottom left hand corner held in place with Zots.

Card Club - May - Vintage Bicycle

The vintage bicycle from the Stampin Up! Feeling Sentimental set was printed onto an ink pad background which was made with a Kiwi Kiss ink pad onto white card stock.  I trimmed the white to leave an even border around the image.   I chose a black card to coordinate with the black bicycle image.  I layered onto the card, designer paper by 7gypsies - Avignon Paper - Ecriture which coordinated with the green ink background.  I stamped the greeting with a Stampin Up! stamp on white and punched it out with the Modern Label. I then did another punchie in black.  I cut the black one in half across the width.  Then I glued the pieces offset to the back of the white.  The greeting is mounted to the card front with 3D foam tape.  I added a button on the right hand side coordinating with the green color and with a black thread tied in the holes.  It is held in place with a Zot.

All Occasion Stack Class - Scroll with Watercolor DP

I started this card with the ivory scroll die cut.  It's from a set of wedding DIY invitations I bought on sale at Michaels. The die cut was trimmed to leave even borders all around. I cut another layer of ivory from the invitation which I mounted to the card which just left a small border of the card color. I selected the card color based on the watercolor designer paper. I selected DP in warm yellow, purple, red, and blue. I glued the scroll die cut to the left side of the watercolor DP being careful not to put adhesive in the holes.  I added a small button in the top right hand corner with a Zot which matches the card color.

Card Club - Jan - 6 Block DS DP

In this card I used double sided designer paper as well.  The squares are cut at 1.25".  I cut 6 squares from the paper. Three of the six squares are flipped over.  I selected a blue card which matched the DP paper.  I printed the greeting on white card stock and cut it down to 1/2 inch strip.  I flagged the right hand end and glued it to the card front aligning the left to the card edge.  The buttons are held in place with Zot glue dots.

R2G Card Kits - Woodsie Felts Cmas

I created these cute card kits with felt shapes.  Red moose, green trees and white snowflakes.  I selected wood background Designer Paper from Rusty Pickle call Game Time.  I printed the greetings on off white card stock in Chocolate Chip.  The greeting is cut to 1/2 tall and 4 1/4 inches wide.                                                  I selected dark brown card stock onto which I glued the DP.  I placed the Woodsie Felt shape near the bottom of the card and using a push pin created a hole through the felt and the card.  On the moose I selected a place where his eye would be and inserted a brad which holds the felt in place.  On the tree there is a hole at the top so I place a star brad there.  On the snowflake I placed the brad in the centre. On the greeting I cut a flag end on the right and aligned the left to the edge of the DP and glued it down.  I used a Zot to hold the button in place to the left of the greeting.

More pinwheel cards, this time Christmas ones.  Here's the link to the original posting.  I used Always Artichoke DP with some red DP to create the pin wheel.  I mounted it on a white layer embossed with Victorian embossing layer onto Always Artichoke card.  I added a red gross grain ribbon across below the pinwheel.  I added the greeting created with the Modern Label with the Word Window punchies.  The greeting is stamped in black with a small clear stamp set.  I added a red button in the centre of the pinwheel with a Zot.
