Spring Gift

I made a bright spring card.  The stamp is Gift by Magenta Stamps (a Canadian Company).  I embossed it with bright pink powder and fussy cut around the image with scissors.  I layered it onto a piece of turquoise cardstock onto which I printed my own background design of stars.  I punched 2 holes near to middle of the bow and pulled through a length of grosgrain ribbon in yellow and tied a bow.  Trimmed the ribbon ends.  This layer was adhered to a yellow layer repeating the yellow color then onto a bright pink card.  It creates a wonderful spring card.

The stamp I have owned for 20 years or so and have not used in forever. The bright pink embossing powder I don't think I have ever used.

The cards are going to the girls on my card exchange group list for March.

Card - Pet Christmas Greetings

Here's a Christmas card for our furry friends.

I started with the dog stamp by Magenta.  I stamped him on white card stock with Versafine black onyx.  I added a greeting in Glorious Green with a clear stamp.  I selected a card in green to match the greeting.  I layered a piece of white card stock in 3.75"x5".  I wrapped a piece of washi tape in Christmas plaid.  The dog is mounted on the card front with 3D foam tape.

Card - Challenge - No Flowers

I started with a Bazzil card - Pinecone which worked well with the stripe in the canvas.  I layered onto the card front a piece of blue textured card stock cut to leave a small border. I die cut the adhesive striped canvas with the Tim Holtz Ornamental die.  I put brown eyelets in the top and bottom points and blue brads in the left and right points.  I chose a piece of ivory which matched the stripe in the canvas. I stamped the Magenta Birds stamp with Versamark Olive ink pad and trimmed the paper then distressed the edges.  The birds were adhered with double sided tape, I hope it sticks because I'm not sure what else to use.  I punched a Stampin Up! Modern Label punchie in the same color as the card. I then layered a SU Word Window punchie onto it.  It is the same ivory card stock stamped with the greeting in the same color as the birds.
I've submitted this card to the ABC Cards - No Flowers.

Card - Green Paint Chip

In honour of St. Patrick's day a green card.  I started with a paint chip from the hardware store.  I stamped a set of leaves with a border by Magenta onto the paint chip.  I used Versafine Black Onyx ink which did not seem to dry onto the chip so I clear embossed the stamping. The greeting is a small clear stamp.  I layered the paint chip with a layer of white then onto a green card.  I added 3 black snaps in the bottom right hand corner to balance the elements.
If you have been renovating you may have some paint chips leftover which can be put to good use in your card making.  Take a look around.
