Birthday Card & Gift

A birthday card for my grand niece who is celebrating a teen birthday this week.

I started with a deep purple card which is her favorite color. I chose a pearl white layer which I embossed with Sizzix Christmas Dots embossing folder.

I mounted with 3D foam tape the Marianne Design Creatables Lady Charleston Die cut in black card stock.  The greeting is cut from black as well with the Dee's Distinctively die. I received this die cut for a card exchange buddy.

I cut the Poppystamps Craft Die by Memory Box TILDA BUCKLE from black as well and strung a length of pink stitched grosgrain ribbon through it.  I taped the ends to the back of the layer.

This layer was adhered to the front of the card base.

She will be receiving my old machine as a gift which allows her to graduate to an adult machine.

Her mother, grandmother and I have shared the expense.  It has been a great machine and I wish her many years of sewing projects on it.

She comes by her love of sewing honestly with most of the women of my family partaking in the activity.

You can see the thread catcher in the bottom right hand corner in the next post.

Card Club - March - Yellow and Blue Polka Dots

I started with a dark blue card.

I chose 2 patterns of designer in the same family. It is from All My Memories - Herbanella - Design 30 which matches well with the navy in the designer paper.  I cut the paper to 4x5.25 then cut again at 3.5 inches. I turned the small one over and tape them back together on the back.

I wrapped a length of green grosgrain ribbon across the join and taped the ends to the back. It was adhered to the card front.

I then placed 3 small yellow handmade paper flowers along the ribbon with tiny yellow brads.  I used a push pin to make the holes for the brads before inserting them, then press apart the prongs on the inside of the card.

Congratulations Card

I made this card for a baby shower I am attending on the weekend.
I started with a Stampin Up Night of Navy card.  I created the white spatter layer with a Night of Navy reinker, a drop of water and a toothbrush onto white photo paper.  I cut the large scallop at the top from Old Olive card stock with the SU Sizzix Big Shot Large Scallop Edgelits Die.  I wrapped a piece of Grosgrain Stitched ribbon in the NofN color. This layer was adhered aligned along the top of the card. I've placed 2 tiny white brads on either end to keep them adhered to the card front. I placed 2 lengths of Old Olive Washi Tape from the Santa & Co. Designer Series across the bottom third of the card.  I stamped the greeting in NofN onto white with the congratulations one from the Perfect Punches set. It is adhered to the card front with 3D foam tape.  I adhered 3 buttons in Old Olive with Zot along the right edge of the white layer.
