Christmas Cards - Gold Foil Manger

I made another set of Christmas cards for by card box.

These are A2 sized at 4.25 x 5.5 inches.

I used the free gold foil card stock I received recently.  I cut the letter sized card stock into quarters. I placed it on the  Stampin Up Sunburst thinlit aligning the top left hand corner and ran it through the Big Shot.

The designer paper I selected is Crate Paper - Holly Collection - Garland  with a beautiful felt finish.  Love the soft colors. This piece was trimmed to 4.00 x 5.25 inches.

Based on this DSP I chose SU Pool Party as my card base. I used an extra half sheet of the same to punch my 2 inch circles.

I used the Penny Black Manger die on the gold foil card stock to coordinate.  I adhered the manger die to the 2 inch circle of Pool Party with a gold star tiny brad through the star in the die cut. I also added double sided tape behind the crib.

I applied double sided tape to the back of each of the rays in the sunburst. It was then aligned along the top left hand corner and press down.  I then trimmed the sunburst to the edge of the designer paper layer.  It was then adhered to the Pool Party card base.  I then adhered the circle manger accent to the middle of the sunburst with 3D foam tape.  I added a quarter sheet insert and an ivory envelope and they are ready to go.  Super happy with this set.

Card - Thank You

I am so grateful for the physiotherapy I received at the beginning of this year.

It's been six months since I was released by my physiotherapist. I decided to drop off a thank you card to express in my gratitude in being able to climb stairs, be pain free, and in general enjoying walking and movement again.

It does mean 30 minutes of ongoing therapy at home but I know all my routine and it is keeping  my mobile.

Thank you!

The card base is Stampin Up Lost Lagoon in the A2 size.  I cut a piece of watercolor saran paper I made years ago.  I cut it to leave a nice border all the way around. I wrapped a length of SU Pool Party tiny rick rack around the front of the landscape oriented card.  I cut the word from heavy white card stock. It was adhered with Bling Zots. A few of those also keep the knot in place and the rick rack straight on the inside.

Exchange Card - August - Watercolor

I decided to make watercolor cards for my exchange cards for August.

I drew a few flowers with a pencil, traced the shapes with the black Micron marker then watercolored them in bright colors.

Once they were dry I went back and added the green wash to the bottom of the card.

Once that was dry then I added spatter with blue water color.

The flowers are just designer shapes with no attempt to represent flowers realistically.

The stems and leaves were done in warm and cool greens.

The water color accent as adhered to to a Pool Party card base with 3D foam tape.

Great all occasion card.

I created some funky flowers on this piece of 140lb rough watercolor paper which measures about 3.5 inches square.

I drew the flowers with pencil, traced the shapes with a Micron permanent black marker, erased the pencil marks and applied watercolor.

I flooded the large center with yellows, oranges and a touch of red. The petals were left white. The leaves were painted green.

Once the flowers were dry a light green wash was applied to the background.

The Summer Sun card base had a length of satin stitched Gumball Green ribbon wrapped with ends taped under the focal element.  The watercolor square was adhered with 3D foam tape.

These are off to my partners this week.

Ready2Go Christmas Stack Kit - Snowflake Blues

Another Christmas Stack kit.

This one based on the Stampin Up Snow Flurry Bigz die.  I decided to create the same layout in 3 different card colors of warm blue from dark to light: Not Quite Navy, Blue Bayou and Baja Breeze.

I cut the label with the Apothecary Label thin die in Pool Party card stock.  I cut the large snowflake from the same color card stock as the card, the next one in Whisper White and added a warm blue confetti snowflake in the center.  These are all held together with a tiny white brad.

The greeting layer was done on Whisper White with the greeting matching the card color.  The greeting is from the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set.  It was trimmed to leave a decent border and adhered to the blue card.  The snowflake accent was then adhered to the greeting layer with 3D foam tape.

Sail Boat in Blues

I started with a Stampin Up Sahara Sand card.  I substituted Pool Party for Mint Macaron. I cut a piece of non SU shiny card stock which matches Pool Party to leave a small border. I placed a piece of Night of Navy seam binding on the diagonal on the Pool Party layer and taped the ends to the back.  I knotted a shorter piece onto it in the top right hand corner. I adhered this layer to the Sahara Sand card.

I created the accent with a piece of Night of Navy, a piece of Chevron pattern paper in Sahara Sand from the Adventure Bound designer paper pack.

I chose the Sail Away stamp set in Night of Navy onto Sahara Sand card stock.  These layers were adhere together aligned in the top left corner.
I tied some navy thread into the holes of the Pool Party button and adhered it to the bottom left hand corner with a Zot.

Trio of Circles and Banners

I started with an Stampin Up Always Artichoke card base.
I cut a piece of the coordinating blue green card stock and corner rounded the corners. I cut a couple of strips of the decorative card stock.
For the greeting I cut a piece of Tangerine Tango and adhered it to one strip of decorative card stock. Then I stamped the greeting in Always Artichoke on warm white with the Sweet Essentials Stamp set. Finished the ends with the Banner Triple Punch.
Using the Stampin Up circle punches, I punched a 1 1/4" circle from decorative card stock, the 1 3/8" from Tangerine Tango and layered them.  I created a banner with the second strip of decorative card stock. The circles and banner were added to the corner rounded panel then it was added to the card front.

Four Squares on Tangerine Tango

I started with a Stampin Up Always Artichoke card base. I placed some leaves from the Blossoms Abound digital set in Always Artichoke to create a subtle layer on the card above and below the accent square. I used this decorative card stock which is non SU but matches perfectly.
I created a central accent with 4 squares. I punched the 1.25" squares from the decorative c/s aligning the tangerine element in the center.  I punched the 1.5" squares from the coordinating solid card stock which matches Pool Party.  I adhered these squares onto a piece of SU Tangerine Tango and trimmed it leaving an even border.
I stamped the greeting from the Sweet Essentials stamp set in Always Artichoke onto a strip of Tango Tangerine. I flagged both ends with the SU Banner Triple Punch. It was adhered to the card front with 3D foam tape.

Wedding Anniversary

I made this card for my Mom & Dad who will celebrate their 62nd wedding anniversary this week.

I chose a Stampin Up Pool Party card.  I printed the greeting from Teeny Tiny Wishes onto the card front in Lost Lagoon.  I cut the largest of the Spellbinder Heart Circles Nestabilities from a piece of shiny card stock in a similar color as Pool Party.  I pulled a piece of narrow white satin ribbon through the holes around the circle.  I cut a smooth circle with a Spellbinders Smooth Circles Nestabilities which measured 3" in diameter from no shed silver glitter.  This was adhered in the centre of the heart circle.  I punched two SU Sweetheart punchies from the same card stock. These were adhered offset from each other in the centre of the silver circle.  The whole accent was adhered to the card front with 3D foam tape.

Sympathy - Lattice Die

I needed several sympathy cards so I thought I would participate in a challenge at the same time.

I started with a Stampin Up Tangerine Tango card.  I cut a piece of Whisper White to leave a nice border.  I then, embossed it with the SU Stripes Embossing Folder.  This layer was adhered to the card front.  I cut a piece of Pool Party with the SU Lattice Die.  I adhered it to the top 2/3 of the card with Bling Zots on the four largest intersections.  This works well as it is being adhered to a textured layer.  I stamped the sentiment from the Simply Sketched Stamp Set onto Whisper White card stock with Pumpkin Pie classic ink.  I punched the right hand side with the Banner Triple punch then I punched a So Saffron piece of card stock to align on the left and leave a border on the top, bottom and right hand side.

R2G Card Kits - SU - Believe

Here's my next Stampin Up Ready 2 Go Card kit.  Again, I selected Winter Frost Designer Paper. I cut the DSP to 2.12 x 5.5 inches. I chose Pool Party card stock onto which I put stamps from Snowflake Soiree set, The snowflake in Smoky Slate and Believe in Bermuda Bay. I adhered the DSP layer it to the bottom of the landscape card. I then adhered a .5 x 5.5 inch strip of Whisper White over the edge of the DSP.  I added 3 rhinestones in clear and warm blue with Bling Zots to the right hand side of the white strip.

R2G Card Kits - SU - Jumbo Snowflake

I was asked to create some Stampin Up Ready 2 Go Card kits.  This is my first one.

I started with Winter Frost Designer Paper.  I cut it to 4.25 x 3.25 inches and adhered it to the bottom of the Smoke Slate portrait card. I placed the greeting combo from An Eventful Year and Remember December in Basic Grey in the top left hand corner. I cut a strip of Pool Party 4.25 inches wide and glued that at the top of the designer paper just overlapping a smidge. I punched a snowflake from Whisper White with the Jumbo Snowflake Punch and adhered it on the blue strip on the right hand side.

Simple Birch Trio

I selected one of the backgrounds I created during my bubble decorating paper session and printed onto the front of my card.  I added a thin border in dark green.  I glued the Memory Box Birch Trio cut in white card stock over the background.  I ripped a piece of white card stock to create snow and a grounding for the trees.   I added a strip of SU Pool Party card stock across the snow bank. I stamped the greeting with a clear stamp and Baja Breeze ink.

Card - Simply Sketched Sympathy

I made this card for a friend who lost his dad recently.
I started with a Crushed Curry card.  The stamps I used are from the Simply Sketched stamp set.  I chose the bird to make the card more masculine and stamped it in Crushed Curry and the sentiment in Baja Breeze as I don't have a Pool Party pad. I watercolored some background on upper and lower portions of the Whisper White card stock with an Aqua Painter and the same colors.  I put the bottom edge of the Pool Party layer through the Big Shot with the edge of the Scallop Square Bigz Clear die.  I dyed a bit of white cotton thread with some Crushed Curry ink to add a bit of repetition and fill in the space below the white layer.

Card - A Christmas Wish

I created this card with several challenges in mind.
I started with a Stampin Up Whisper White card on which I printed a thin border on the card front in Pool Party.  I cut 3 pieces of Winter Frost DSP then applied them to non SU glossy card stock in an aqua which matches Pool Party leaving a small border. I glued them evenly spaced on the card front. I stamped the greeting "A Christmas Wish" from the Home for Christmas stamp set in Baja Breeze and clear embossed it.  I used a square punch to flag both ends of the greeting.  I cut 2 snowflakes with the Snow Flurry Bigz die.  The larger one in the glossy aqua card stock and the smaller in white pearl card stock.  The greeting was placed over the 3 panels and the snowflakes layered and placed to the left of the greeting.

R2G Christmas Stack Kit - Winter Frost

Here's the next Ready 2 Go Stack Kit designed with the 6x6 inch One Sheet Wonder cutting plan.
For this kit I used the Winter Frost 6x6 DSP pack. the designs I selected are this small snowflake and the other is bolder chain looking design. I choose Pool Party for the cards for this set.  I chose Basic Gray for the greeting, the square and the strip for the snowflake paper and Island Indigo for the bold chain design.  I ran out of Pool Party so I made 1 card in each design with the colors reversed (Basic Gray card with Pool Party layers) for the ornament.

The DSP and the strip were aligned with the fold and then trimmed on the open side as needed. The greeting layer is mounted over the strip with 3D foam tape.
The stamp sets I selected are: Calm Christmas, Keepsake Ornaments with Owl Occasions greeting and Come to Bethlehem.
You can check out the Season of Style red and green kit here.
